If you are in need for a Podologist I highly recommend you look elsewhere, Dra Joana might be very capable at her job but highly lacks interpersonal skills. Arrived for my appointment, receptionist asked for ID which I provided after which I was asked to take a seat. 40 mins (too) late I was finally called into her consultation room to be asked to show my ID again which is a first for me, which Dr asks for your ID and after having just gone through the process at reception? No problem, showed her my ID after which she asked me for a passport, who walks around with a passport or brings it to a Dr appointment, besides that my internationally recognised UK drivers license should be more than sufficient,? She also proceeded to ask for my NIF (Tax ID number) which is absolutely irrelevant as this number is for tax purposes in Portugal and necessary when paying taxes, making official purchases such as buying a property or carrying out other formal activities not an appointment at a Podologist? After mentioning that I obviously did not bring my passport and there was no need for my NIF number she refused to see me. Now, I have dealt with many incapable "professionals" in my career but Dr. Joana tops it all, it seems to me like she has some underlying issues with foreigners, the foreigners that bring companies and jobs to Portugal.
