  The place is simple, but the staff is very nice and the food is very tasty and tipical portoguese cuisine. Also you can enjoy the nice view on the ocean while eating.

  We went to surpresa restaurant in a very sunny winter day. The restaurant was quite full during lunch time which usually mean that it is good. We had to wait around 5 minutes to get a table in front of the sea during a week day. I can imagine that it is fuller during weekend. It is situated in praia da poça with an amazing sea view! The waiter (Pedro Miguel) was very friendly and thoughtful. We ordered a "dourada grelhada" (see pictures), and it was a delight. It was grilled open (escalada) but it was not dry, and tasted like sea. For dessert we had a chocolate mousse and a lemon pie. Both choices were good but the lemon pie was specially good. In the end we paid with card and unfortunately we didn't have some cash with us to leave as tip (gorjeta) to Pedro Miguel. So we hope this review helps Surpresa and Pedro Miguel gain some extra costumers and tips.

  Fantastic location, and fresh, delicious seafood. While the service wasn't unpleasant, there were some misfires, like never receiving cutlery and finally having to grab it ourselves. If you don't have high service expectations, this is a great place to while away an afternoon.

  We only came here for coffee and tea. The location is unbeatable. They have a long stretch of tables for the water view. Bathroom were equipped and cleaned.

  The three stars are mainly because of the amazing views and location. The food was frozen squid with frozen vegetables. It was tasty but the quality of the product was not fresh. The service was mediocre and it took ages to bring the tab.

  The view is good, but the food is disappointing. The seafood delight contains nothing from the sea, but some crab paste with mayo. They didn't have snail or many other things on the menu. Shrimps and soup quite tasteless.

  I was disappointed to see my Portuguese American family receive sub par service here. While prices seemed reasonable, service overall was slow and not ubiquitous in its timeliness

  Just an other tourist bar with no interest. Sangria tasted like out of a plastic bottle for 5 time it's price. Same for fresh cheese. The had the audacity to serve it inside it's plastic can. Unbelievable 😂 Not worth of your time. Go your way.

  1 star because the employee was very rude. When we sat down he immediately told me and my girlfriend that we couldn't sit next to eachother even tho there were plenty of empty tables. The bathrooms were dirty, and smelled like tobacco. Overall very unpleasant experience and I would strongly recommend any other place, either for dining or just for a coffee.
