Let's do this proper. This is the stop to schedule for after a day of visiting the sights in Sintra. The staff is warm, the food (and presentation) is on point, and the atmosphere is comfortable. You arrive and it feels like you're at your extended family cabin enjoying a meal with lived ones. Sadly we had a larger meal planned for the evening so only stopped by for a quick snack but it was well worth it and well deserved after a long day visiting the palaces nearby. The highlight was the mushroom, smoked ham, arugula, and cheese (cant remember what kind it was! @Tascantiga help me out here 😄) dish. Seriously amazing dish. You get the creaminess of the cheese, a meaty mushroom, salt from the smoked ham, and the arugula gives a nice peppery flavor. Order one for everyone at your table. Trust. Regardless, make this a stop. Happy to keep recommending this place cause it was a treat.

Delicious food, beautiful views, friendly staff, nice drinks! We came here promptly at 12:15 when it opened after a morning at Pena Palace and had an amazing time. They had plenty of seating at the time and lots of different types of tapas and sandwiches. Be careful coming later as seats will fill up.

I got the octopus and mushroom tapas, along with the tuna sandwich and pumpkin gateaux (the pumpkin cream inside is heavenly). Definitely a lot for one person (I took half a sandwich to go) but the food was so good I just couldn’t resist trying more. Great way to end a day of wandering around Sintra and hiking through the parks in the area!

This place is amazing. We ordered octopus salad and cod fish salad for appetizers. Also, we had a tuna sandwich and steak sandwich. For drinks, sangria and home made beer. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice view.

Food was great, service was wonderful, and the patio is a cute place to dine. The octopus and beef cheek were our favourite dishes. We also really enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake in a flowerpot. Food is very aesthetically pleasing and equally as delicious.

By far lunch at Tascantiga was our favorite meal during our Portugal trip. When we went, the entrance was a little unclear (they had it roped off which we thought meant it was closed) but after inquiring, we were seated quickly on their beautiful outdoor patio. The food here was so good. We ordered a few of the tapas: the cod dumplings with olive puree (mostly out of curiosity), the toasted spare ribs, the candied pork cheeks, and the French fries. Everything we ate was amazing (I forgot to take photos of everything because it just looked so good and I couldn't wait). The cod dumplings were texture-wise very different, we liked them. We also had two sangrias. I'm not sure if it's just Portuguese sangria that is so good but I can't stop thinking of that sangria. It was bubbly, not too sweet, and unlike any sangria that I've had before. I'm going to try to recreate it because I loved it so much. The service was great and quick. This was the perfect place for us to recharge during our trip to Sintra. The prices were also so affordable for us. Every restaurant we went to after Tascantiga, we compared to here. I've already recommended it as a place you can't miss to all of my friends going to Portugal this year!

Lovely place to have lunch in Sintra. Very traditional and authentic Portuguese food. Not too pricey as well. About 8 Euros per tapas and 2 were enough for one person. The octopus dishes are great - we had the Seafood salad and the grilled octopus, and both were excellent. The service was very friendly as well. They also have vegan options.

Service is non existent, and eating the squid was like trying to eat a tennis ball. I would had told them if they had bothered to visit my table even once. The octopus was quite good though.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried.. And I’m a major foodie! You have to visit this restaurant in Sintra. The small portions allow you to pick many and share with your family and friends. Don’t forget about the wine or sangria! 😋

Wow the best service here in Portugal on 30 days. The owner bussing tables. Food is amazing as well. Steak sandwich, chicken wings, and deserts. They gave the kids colored pencils to play. Go early line is long .

Best octopus I’ve had so far! Seasoning for the pork cheeks, beef cubes and octopus were amazing! Definitely recommend the three. The cod fish dumplings were delicious but might not be for everyone. Mushrooms is like a portobello vegetable burger and felt like the mushrooms could be better seasoned and was too watery. Portuguese egg and sausage + chicken wings were tasty but not their star dish.

To find this amazing restaurant, walk up the stairs beside Sintra Welcome Center, then keep right at the fork. It is most definitely worth the steps! The staff are friendly and amazing, but most importantly, the food is well priced, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Highly suggest the tuna sandwich accompanied with potato wedges, mushroom with vegetables and the strawberry dessert. One of the best tuna sandwiches!

We loved this place. The food and service were both top-notch. The restaurant has plenty of seating and has a lovely feel about it. It's an interactive menu in which you are given a sheet of paper and a pencil and asked to tick off the dishes that you want - simple and effective. We ordered quite a few dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. Prices were very reasonable too. The location is towards the top of the hill, but it was worth the additional steps uphill to get here.

Everything was delicious and we loved the atmosphere. Service was also very good and they were welcoming and friendly. We had prawns, steak cubes, octopus and steak sandwiches. For dessert we ordered apple crumble and cheese cake and both were very good, served in cute ceramics.

Had lunch here on our day trip to Sintra. It didn't disappoint! Lovely atmosphere, sat in the sun 🌞. We had cod dumplings, potato skins, prawns, mushroom with goats cheese, and the goats cheese salad, finishing up with a coffee. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend.

We stopped for lunch in Sintra and it was great. I could not recommend more, the food, the staff and the location was amazing with lovely outdoor terrace seating. We had the pork cheek, prawns and portobello with mushroom. The pork cheek was my favourite. There was a queue waiting at 1215 but we all got in and we were out again for our bus at 1250 which was perfect!

Food is good, however I think it doesn’t quite live up to the hype, as it isn’t exceptional. It you would like to have a table outside I recommend calling in advance to make a reservation as they are always really busy and you even might have to wait in line to get a table. One nice thing about the restaurant is that they are one of the few places in downtown Sintra that actually accept cards.

Nice local restaurant serving tapas style small dishes. Alfresco dining is available but limited tables. The price is also very reasonable considering we are up in the Sintra hills. One complaint - I asked for my beef cubes to be medium but they came more like medium well. Otherwise I did like the taste of the dish as the tartness of the pickles came through nicely.

Staff were very friendly all the time. Food is delicious, very authentic and you can feel like every dish has its own unique taste. Service is pretty fast, kind and friendly. Definitely one of the best places in Sintra. As negative point, I only would say the opening hours could be longer.

This quaint Tapas restaurant located in the narrow back streets of Sintra was a gem. We sat outside and looked over the city, although it’s a bit obstructed with trees, nevertheless really beautiful. The tapas were among the best we had in Portugal. I highly recommend the mushroom, goat cheese and Iberico ham and the prawns!

If there was an option for 6 stars, I would have definitely chosen it. Very nice food, while desserts being just out of this world. We took a squid, a cuttlefish and a desert. All dishes were very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere is also nice. The restaurant is quite spacious compared to many other places in Sintra. The service is also very good and attentive. Hence totally deserves 5 stars.
