Cockroaches and mould! Every morning we found new cockroaches lying around. Once we told the hotel staff they were not even able to clean them all away!! In the rooms the bathroom was full of mould. The shower flooded the room after a few seconds, even if you showered very carefully. The breakfast was the worst we have had so far. Small selection of frozen bread and bad tasting cold cuts and cheeses. I do not even want to talk about the coffee - if you can call it like that. The whole building - including the newer part - is deteriorating. You can see that they are not taking care of it. The pool is full of algea and the mosaic tiles are just falling away in piles. Also, the hotel is located in the middle of two very busy streets and a bus stop. If you are looking for some tranquility, this is not the place. Cars, motorcycles and busses are driving very loudly the whole night. The baby bed they provided us with was so unstable, that it almost fell over - with our baby inside. Asking for a more stable one, they said that all baby beds they have are like this. The staff was generally not helpful and partly rude. This hotel is 2 stars at best. EDIT after hotel response: I cannot see any connection of above mentioned points to a room type change of a reservation, that was NOT done by us. It seems to me that the hotel wants to disguise and cover up their shortcomings and cockroach infestation.

We wanted to stay 3 nights in one of the suites of the hotel. At a rate of + € 250 a night and in a 4 star hotel, we expected some comfort and modern / charming rooms. Unfortunately we decided to check-out after the first night, as the advertised standards have not been met. In summary: The rooms are old and smell of humidity, this smell is tried to be overpowered by artificial airspray, which makes the smell only more unpleasant. The mattresses are very old and are super soft, giving someone back pain (probably by the use over the years). The bathroom is tiny and old, this may be expectable in a two star hotel but not in a four star. Overall the 4 star rating of this hotel is misleading and the price cannot be justified. We are experience travelers within Portugal and have had so many remarkable experiences in hotels - unfortunately this is one of the few which has been unpleasant. As we left early (after one night instead of three) we asked for a partial refund, which was rejected by the staff. According to the conditions, it is the right of the hotel not to make refunds, however we expected some decency to compensate us partially. We do would like to add, that the staff was very polite, even though they were not a big help in this case.

This is going to be a long review, so if you lose concentration easily here's a summary: Fabulous 2 night stay at a boutique hotel in gorgeous Estoril. You should stay here! If this is a family run hotel, then I want to extend my gratitude to the family who obviously has put their passion and dedication into providing a wonderfully pleasant experience for their guests. I stayed here two nights in the modern wing. James checked us in and he was very thorough. Marta was also very professional and friendly. I chose the modern twin premium because for my partner and I that just made sense. The room was spacious, well equipped, generous and fresh. Everything worked as it was supposed to from the air conditioning to the shower. The outside terrace was a nice addition and when the evening allowed, we used the space. The pool area had plenty of shade with tables and chaises. The pool was a great feature and I thank you for keeping it in fine working order. I paid 20€ each night for breakfast. That's 10€ per person which included everything anyone could need from eggs to meats, cheeses, breads and unlimited coffee and teas. Both mornings we arrived at between 8:00-8:30 and there was plenty of food. To address some of the critiques I've read: if you don't like small, older bathrooms then choose the modern rooms. You will pay extra, but maybe it will satisfy you. The pool missing tiles. Yes. There were some. They are centimetres in size and small tiles sometimes come lose. That won't ruin your ability to swim or chill. The breakfast buffet. I addressed that above. If you want a full spread of every breakfast food imagineable then I suggest a restaurant down the street. There are plenty. Google can help. Smells. You must remember that the older wing is a unique building that has been refurbished over the years. There are going to be random smells. Again, choose the modern wing. Noise. We experienced nothing unusual. The joy with the modern wing is that no one is staying above you. The restaurant is down the hall and I didn't hear a peep. Street noise might be a nuisance for some if you have the slider open. I slept like a baby on the deliciously comfortable bed. Thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly to make this non-Portuguese speaking American very happy. I would absolutely stay here again without a second thought.

This hotel should not be ranked as 4 stars. The suites are old, lack structural maintenance and have a very strong smell of humidity, which tries to be disguised by artificial air spray. We planned to stay 3 nights and ended up staying only 1, even after having fully paid the 3-night stay. The hotel refused to give any kind of reimbursement. Some serious renovation needs to happen and until then the 4-star ranking should be revised. Very unpleasant experience.

This is my favorite hotel to stay in when I come to visit! I love the staff, I love the quirky decor, and the retro vintage vibe is so very cool. Don’t expect a snobby pretentious experience, this hotel has lots to offer. Authentic Portuguese old world glamour, in a gorgeous location steps from the beach.

Terrible, room extra small and very expensive. The price is not according to the quality of the room, the publicity is not clear and fair, it lead to make fake spectations. Booking this hotel was a los of time and money. NOT recomended at all. For sure this hotel must not be ranked as a four stars ......

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Staff polite and friendly. They up graded our beautiful room for my husbands 70th birthday. Left champagne chocolates and pastries. Absolutely over whelmed.

It's a very beautiful and stylish hotel. They had a very good service, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Sintra and Lisbon are very easy to reach. You can take the bus or the train, it is near the hotel. I really enjoyed the stay.

A classic hotel with a serene atmosphere and cozy rooms. Location gives a good view of the surrounding city from your room.

Staying here for 1 week, pre purchased via Vida Lifestyles. Another tour group staying here when we arrived, dinner at the restaurant was not available. Housekeeping is inconsistent...what is up with no face towels!? Luckily, I bring my own when I travel. Cool black figures propped outside@the hotel.

The hotel is nice. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Overall the stay was good. Our room was nice, clean, but even after several attempts they were not able to get the air conditioner working properly. We were with a larger group and several of the rooms at the same problem with their air conditioner. If those issues are repaired I would say this is a five-star review as it is. I can only give it three because it was very hot at night and difficult to sleep.

This is dog friendly hotel that doesn’t allow dogs anywhere in the hotel except the room. No dog facility like - dog bed, dog plates. Would not stay here again. Reception is dirty which gives not a lovely first impression. Hope this comment helps to change something.

A nice looking hotel with character. Nice looking clean rooms and a comfortabele bed. However.. i got a parking ticket just outside the hotel in the same street...i feel the receptionist should have pointed out not to forget to buy a parking ticket in case i had my car parked in the street. I know ..it's my own responsability but as a hotel receptionist you are supposed to know this and share this information .. I didn't have breakfast so i can't judge this. The swimming pool was nice and clean. All in all a good hotel but i exptected a little bit more value for money. Also thin walls so i was entertained by the fighting couple in the adjacent room. No make-up activities, only fighting...sad for them...🤷‍♂️😃

Nice older hotel. We had a room on -1. It seemed to be a more dark, gloomy area. Good customer service. Nice location in town.

There is no parking at this hotel. If you need to park don’t stay here. They advertise a car park but do not have any spaces, it’s tiny. Don’t stay here if parking essential.

Run away! A detestable and shocking stay in many ways - bedroom door left open after cleaning on 2 occasions - large water leak in the ceiling of the bathroom, coming from the room above. - a detached and disdainful management

For a hotel with such high reviews, I was thoroughly disappointed by its quality. In terms of the positives, the location of the hotel is quite good, also the pool area provided by the hotel is quite nice for sunbathing and swimming. It also has its own bar which provides food and drinks. However, the negatives far outweigh the positives. The air conditioning in the room did not work and despite telling the staff immediately afterwards, the air conditioning was not fixed. Bathroom scales were provided, but they did not work, and they were not fixed or changed even after informing the hotel staff. Also, when booking the hotel initially, we requested a double bed. Despite the hotel being almost empty, we were refused a double room. During our stay, we only saw 4 people at the hotel. The TV was also broken. The screen was flickering and half of the screen was distorted, as if someone had punched the screen. We informed the staff but they refused to do anything about it. When I go to a hotel, one thing I tend to worry about is my valuables, such as my passport, phone, laptop, etc. So one thing I expect from every hotel I visit is a fully functioning safe that is free to use. But at this hotel, you have to pay for the safe. I have never come across a hotel which charges you to use the safe. We also found that the bed sheets were not changed daily and the bed sheets sometimes had additional mysterious stains on them which they didn't have when we left in the morning. It seemed like they just left the same bed sheets and dropped something on them. In addition to the bed sheets, the towels were not replaced everyday and the number of towels we received everyday would be completely random. Sometimes, they would just take all but one of the towels, meaning that there weren't enough towels for everyone.

Excellent location, minutes from beach, train station and next to Casino.Great bonus of rooftop swimming pool and quirky art figures, the staff are friendly and helpful. However things are a bit worn and maintenance is an issue.Loose tap and towel rail in our standard bedroom and missing tiles and bottom rung of pool ladder missing.A good hotel that has the potential to be great ,if maintenance was sorted out.
