An amazing Cafe in the heart of magical Sintra 😊 high quality food and respectful staff. It's perfect for brunch or a quick bite. The portions are really large and filling. The place has its own personality! Each corner of it has a different vibe which is very interesting. They also sell stuffs and food and wine as souvenirs. Highly recommended

Gorgeous café close to the train station. I had breakfast here for three days (I was staying at Chalet Saudade) and each day the breakfast was superb! If you’re staying at the hotel you get a continental style breakfast here at the café, and to be honest I really wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the breakfast was. You get a really substantial breakfast, which was fresh and delicious. Just want to mention the staff too, who are wonderful. Friendly, welcoming and very attentive. I did hope to come back and eat here during the day, but unfortunately never got the chance as I was never back in time. Next time though…

Enjoy a nice walk around Sintra a variety of shops on the way to get nice souvenirs... the food is traditional and simple here ... nice to pick and nibble on some good variety of starters ... the building. Classic historical architecture venue

Great food. The establishment it's self was a mercado at one time and they have preserved some of the structure inside. The staff is super friendly as well. Vegan d vegetarian options.

Delicious hot pressed sandwich, apple cake was unlike any apple cake we've tried before, maybe a bit too sweet but still very good. We paid around 17€ for the sandwich, cake and two coffee drinks. We had to approach the staff ourselves, otherwise they probably wouldn't have noticed us as the place was quite busy 😅 What a great place right near the train station.

Such a cozy cafe to eat at. Loved the traditional decor and the diversity of the menu. Very nice staff and comfortable space. We ate the croissants, the yogurt parfait, some traditional pastries and some juice of the day. All good food.

The place is very nice and cozy. The staff is very friendly and everybody speaks English. Even though it is very crowded, we got a table in maximum 5 minutes after we arrived. The food is very good! We had the Salmon XL sandwich and the Chicken XL sandwich. Both of them were very good. The apple pie however was impressive. Is not the regular apple pie that one would expect. The base is made from biscuits (similar to cheesecake), in the middle big chunks of apples and on top a creme made of condensed milk and cinnamon. For sure it is something that you need to try if you are lucky and it is not sold out when you arrive. In conclusion, a very nice place with very friendly staff and very good food and coffee! Would recommend to check if around!

    We would've liked to give 4,5 stars. Tops: - the food was really delicious; - the overall price is good; - the place is beautiful; - the place is very clean (COVID-19); - outside tables; - dog-friendly (outside); - very big scone and quiche; Tips: - the lady(manager?) was not so friendly in the beginning, she was nicer in the end; - it took quite some time for us to be approached and to order - that is critical in a place like Sintra where you have many places to visit and limited parking time; - the juice of the day was the only expensive thing we saw in the menu;

It is an elegant particular café a few meters from Sintra train station. Nice staff, they speak English. I had two pastries typical of Sintra and a good big cup of cappuccino.

Clearly popular café with queues outside the entrance. Slightly chaotic environment, but it comes with all tourists visiting the place. Unfortunately quite disappointed with the food. Ham and cheese croissants were okay. Yoghurt wasn't all that nice. Scones tasted like they've been baked alongside fish. And raisin apple bread had nice taste but very doughy. Service was quite good and staff were friendly!

Nice coffeeshop in Sintra. Whenever I pass by it is always busy or has a queue. This time i managed to have a spot for coffee and sandwich. Good variety in the menu. The food and coffee were fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly and speak English too.

The best apple pie of my life, seriously! The cream is probably made of kajmak mixed with custard - it's sticky, sweet and amazing!

A must visit if you come to Sintra. We ordered the soup, sandwiches, pastries and coffee, and everything was delicious. Portions were very generous. The setting, inside a renovated historic building, could not be more charming.

This is such a lovely place. Huge delicious meals and affordable. The location is also very convenient. My only complaint is that the sandwich was too big even for my big appetite haha.

Got a chance to go before they closed for the holidays, so happy I did! It was really a great place for a quick and easy tostada, and they are huge! Also a good place to work from if you don't have Internet at home.

Just down the street from the train station and away from all the crowds and traffic…you will find this quaint little restaurant right on the street. Friendly staff, you can communicate in English, Español or Portugués. Very fast service and with a kind smile. Very nice atmosphere with soft music playing in the background. We had a vegan salad and a toasted ham and cheese plate. Iced tea and Café Americano. Very well priced. Lots of food and a great flavor. It is worth the stop. Buen provecho!

(Translated by Google) Wonderful place. Perfect for lunch or dinner on the cozy terrace they have. The presentation of the dishes has been excellent, and the quality and taste even more so. I recommend the pumpkin dessert. It is one of the best I have ever tasted. The attention of the staff has been very attentive and friendly. Mandatory stop at the end of the visit to the Sintra Palace. (Original) Maravilloso lugar. Perfecto para comer o cenar en la terracita acogedora que tienen. (Translated by Google) Sintra special corner. Hidden and well decorated. The attention of the staff is very good. As for the tapas, care is appreciated in the good preparation, with good execution and taste. The genre may not be the best but the handling of the product and preparation is more than correct. The presentation of the food is special. All of this gives it an impossible 5 star rating. (Unless you are a gastronomic hick). (Original) Rincón especial de Sintra. Escondido y bien decorado. La atención del personal es muy buena. En cuanto a las tapas se aprecia un cuidado en la buena elaboración ,con buena ejecución y gusto. We had an amazing lunch here! Try to get a table on their patio overlooking the old town. We shared 4 small plates in 2 and it was more than enough. I’d encourage anyone to try their delicious octopus à lagareiro and their azeitão cheese with figs and ham!

Best breakfast in Sinatra! I had the vegan panini - lettuce, lemony chickpea spread, avocado and tomatoes. Such a delicious sandwich in a very generous size. I also had freshly squeezed orange juice! I had to skip lunch...lol The staff was super friendly too. The next day, Monday morning, the place is closed to the public and servers only guests from Chalet Saudade so I had toasts with the chickpea spread, avocado and tomatoes - delicious! Go there if you are in Sintra!

Smiley and wonderful service. Comfy ambience, a wide spread of pastries/cakes. XL latte with double shots was just what I needed for a cold midday. The huge scones were simply the best I've had, crispy/crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Great place for a breakfast before you make your way to Pena Palace.

Grabbed the suadade coffee and a chocolate croissant. Both were delicious. The suadade coffee is way sweeter than expected (which I really like) but it may not be for everyone. Aside from that, everything was excellent and I highly recommend.

We had a tasty breakfast here. The food and service were both good, and the cafe has a lovely feel about it. There weren't many places open early in the area and so we were happy this was. Being a popular cafe, it wasn't too busy when we were there, and the price was reasonable.

  • 4/5 Hoan-Vu L. 8 months ago on Google
A good place for a quick meal. The panini is well toasted and the cheese nicely melted. The raisin and apple toast with peanut butter was enjoyable. Smooth peanut butter that is not too thick in the mouth. I thing special to report for the cappuccino. The same for the nata. But espresso milkshake was really good. It’s not the thick ice cream style. Easy to drink and very good. I would recommend it. The service was good as well.

A cosy restaurant with the best toasted sandwich I have ever had in Portugal. It is very suitable for tourist who wish to have a rest after the visit to castles. The cafe itself is probably a heritage with archaelogical findings. The sandwich is in huge portion sonI would recommend one set share by 2 people.

But otherwise we still ate very well. (Original) Cadre très sympa, la nourriture est bonne par contre en terme de quantité /prix il y a un bond. I highly recommend eating in this restaurant. The staff is really friendly and the place is very simple but very nicely decorated, it created a very home like atmosphere. We stopped here after visiting Pena castle. Definitely try the cheese with ham, it’s the right amount of melted state, ready to be spread on a crispy bread. Everything we tried was extremely delicious, octopus, the shrimps with garlic and of course chorizo. They have a large variety of wine so definitely try at least, they will be able to advise which wine goes well with what you ordered. The prices are acceptable, not too expensive, especially when the quality and taste of the dishes is so good.

Just one street further on from the main cluster of restaurants and almost like it's in a different town altogether because of it, Tascantiga has lovely staff, big portions of their tapas and a fabulous patio. The place is quite nice and it's excellent for a lunch after visit the Pena Palace and the Castle. The food is very, very good and the waiters are welcoming. I definitely recommend this place, is probably one of the best you can find in Sintra. Don't miss the desserts, they are fantastic! The prices are quite low and fair for what you get.

Their sandwiches are great. The staff seemed a bit stressed out, which is understandable since the place was packed. They moved a table out of one of the rooms and seated us in the hallway, which didn't feel very nice. The coffee and freshly squeezed juice were great. If we had gotten there outside peak hours I'm sure we would have had a much better experience.
