Delicious gluten free food. I hadn't eaten fried chicken in 14 years. But Yardy's is gluten free (even though it doesn't specify on the menu). Many of the sides are also gluten free, making for a wonderful meal. Isaiah is also a lovely human. I'm so happy this somehow came up in a conversation with a friend, which then led to lunch. I will be back for more.

Absolutely delicious food. It’s a small but very varied menu so you don’t feel like it’s missing anything. We drive from Sweet Home to eat here when we can because nowhere else has their fried chicken half as good as this. So glad we found this place!

Outstanding food • Fried chicken. My co-eater broke SIX YEARS of being a vegetarian to eat this chicken- no lie- bc it looked so good & as a former chicken lover he was compelled to try it. He pronounced it “the best friend chicken I’ve ever eaten. “ I have to say, I do not eat the meat anymore, but my sister used to make the world’s best and this looks like the real deal. (The cast iron matters bc it’s HARD to make good fried chicken- the depth & heat of the oil factored with the density of the meat and bones, etc.. It is not an easy feat. I could never do it but I’ve had some amazing versions and I’m taking my co-eater’s word here.) NOTE: Good fried chicken takes time - this is not a taco, it's gonna be a minute. • The vegan beet salad was a work of sincere love. The beets, the lettuce, the jicama, the dressing- none of that came from a package or a bottle. These are primo ingredients prepared with attention. • Doubles! - A beautiful expression of the culinary mix up that is the unique Caribbean flavor way- a bit spicy a bit sweet and the right kind of scotch bonnet based HOT sauce- yes! ( I’m lucky enough to have some Trini’s cook for me and these are good. Flavorful, well executed, do yourself a favor and get you some.) • The grits- dang. See other reviews, they are superior and obviously also home made. • The Cornbread- also well described but I’ll echo- not your average cornbread. Moist, well flavored, delicate crumb. Don't forget to go get a delicious CF beer to wash it down, I think the Pilsner goes well. Thanks, Isaiah, for bringing your gifts to the people. We are so happy you got a truck and we now know where to find you!

I'm new to Eugene and just discovered this yummy food truck owned by Isaiah - who happened to be there on my visit. Isaiah and I had a wonderful conversation about the San Francisco Bay Area and food. I'm so glad I found a place serving pasture-raised and gluten-free battered fried chicken and local ingredients! The chicken is delicious - crispy crust and juicy inside. The collard greens are also amazing with just the right amount of spice kick - the rice porridge is mine (rice was not a part of this yummy meal). Well, I have to get back to my yummy meal now. Thank you, Isaiah!

Tried this place for the first time! Really good chicken, the collard greens were to die for! Cornbread is really good too! The Carib donut was a bit bready and needed some dipping sauce, in my opinion. Service was a bit odd, the lady asked me if I wanted to tip after I already had. I personally would never ask a customer to tip, but she was very nice and maybe had just had a long day or something. Would highly recommend! It’s in the back of Coldfire so we were able to sit and have a beer while we waited for our food.

Wow. I am normally not one who takes the time to post reviews or go back to give the chef some well deserved love, but this meal was awesome. The fried chicken was the stuff of dreams (yes, I dream of fried chicken…it’s also been my preferred birthday meal for decades). Perfectly crispy while still juicy. It had the right amount of spice and the right amount of breading. Perfect. I’ve spent a lot in the South and feel like I know cornbread, but this was some of the best ever. Not sweetened with yellow cake or other BS, but still managed a crispy outside and soft and steamy inside. Buttery, in no way dry (avoiding the word moist), and perfect. I was told they culture their own butter milk and that seems to be the ticket. It’s hard to get excited about corn bread and here I am writing about it. Can’t go wrong here. Oh, have you ever tasted a pickled strawberry? I don’t know why they aren’t a thing.

That's some good freaking chicken! Got the tamarind bbq chicken and Damn! It was tasty. Wife got the doubles with chicken, it was also really good. The doughnuts are fluffy and fresh. Do not sleep on Yardy, it's definitely not to be missed.

Wow, nice pieces of chicken, great crispy coating still crunchy and intact when after drive home! Sides were wholesome and perfect serving size. You have to try their donuts!

Fun, delicious and something different. Normally not a fan of chicken thighs at other places. They made them to a whole new flavor. Really, really, good!

The food was exceptional, delicious carribean flavors and the chef was excited to explain the offerings and make recommendations. I wish I had more time to come back and try the rest of the offerings.

WOW - all I can say is YOU CANNOT GO WRONG HERE! The food was amazing the owner was so accommodating and our entire group loved every second we spent eating and hanging out there! The chicken is FANTASTIC and the owner is a true treasure to Eugene!

Their food is always consistently amazing. Great quality and service. I love the different side dishes. Their chicken is the best fried chicken in town and I’ve tried them all. Cornbread is perfection. My family is from the south and it’s better than my grandmother’s cooking.

I didn't think anyone could best my great-grandmother's cast iron skillet fried chicken, but Yardy did it! Hands down the best I've ever had, and bonus that it's gluten-free. I love the homemade hot sauce, too. Thanks to Isaiah and crew for bringing this to Eugene.
