I stopped in to grab lunch right when they were opening. I got the pork belly burnt end tacos and BBQ beans to go. The tacos were absolutely delicious! They were a good value as well, stuffed with a generous portion of pork. The beans were pretty sweet with bits of BBQ meat, which I enjoyed as well. The owners were super friendly and service was excellent and fast. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

The food, the atmosphere it’s so so good. The owners and I assume their son were all extremely friendly and interested in our experience being good. Brisket was moist and the fat rendered nicely. Seasoning on the jojos was perfect. Beans were great. Sauces were all outstanding. One of the better BBQ experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I was out in the Portland area for training from Kansas City and stopped into the new BBQ place, I ended up getting some Pulled Pork, Brisket, and PB Burnt End sliders. They were great if you like a sweeter style BBQ this is a great place. The owner was happy to talk to us about his new restaurant, and yes feel free to use the pictures.

Hands down the best BBQ joint I've been to. Awesome little place in a cool building, great atmosphere, and of course the food is incredible. The brisket melts in your mouth, making for a delicious slider, and the cole slaw has the perfect tang to cut through all that rich goodness. The owners are some of the kindest folks you'll meet, and their devotion to quality shows in every bite. If you like BBQ I can't recommend this place enough.

Awesome little barbecue spot. Had driven past it a few times and I’m glad we finally stopped in! Everyone working there was friendly, and it was clear they were interested in making delicious, comforting food. Also really appreciate the pricing. I’ll be back for sure!

Just moved to Portland from the Midwest and I have been trying to find a good local BBQ place. This place is fantastic. The food was excellent, fresh, very tasty, and large portions. I tried the pork belly burnt ends tacos and the brisket slider. I was very hangry when I showed up and left very happy. The place was very clean - all of the tables and surfaces were tidy. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to assure I felt like home. I will definitely be coming back here and highly recommend this place.

Small little family run BBQ restaurant in Milwaukee! The service was great and the meats were perfectly smoked! I tried the pork belly and the brisket and both were delicious! Sides were good, but cornbread would have been a nice addition to the sides menu. Still worth a visit if you're in the area and want some down home BBQ!

Highly recommended! Had takeout from The Smoking Jay tonight. This is an EXCELLENT BBQ place! Pulled Pork and Brisket were both perfect- Smokey, very flavorful and moist. Mild and Spicy BBQ Sauces were very good. In my opinion what REALLY sets apart a GREAT BBQ place are the sides. Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Pork+Beans and Mac+Cheese were all excellent and obviously House Made. I will be going to The Smoking Jay again!
