As someone who spent 20 years in the restaurant industry in a former life, this meal made me want to go back to waiting tables myself to show the staff how it's supposed to look. This meal was Painful. Our server Magnolia was far more interested in chatting with the other servers than actually waiting on us. She forgot to put in the order for our appetizers, didn't refill our waters or try to upsell a second round of drinks, and had limited knowledge of the beers on tap. The last thing I want to hear when I ask my server how something is, is "I haven't actually tried that." I bet you could try it so you could be knowledgeable and be able to sell your products and wow your guests. The food was fine, nothing to write home about, but the service, or lack thereof, really set the tone for the experience. I will definitely think of a number of other places next time I want to spend $111 on dinner.

This is my go-to place for dinner, drinks, and a wonderful night out in Eugene! Do the Cajun Tots and/or sweet potato fries! Their burgers and wood fired pizza is amazing too. Salads are so great. Pool, Shuffle Board, and Darts. They have a great wood stove to sit by too! Lots vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free substitutions/options for those wondering.

These restaurants are funky and eclectic, you just need to experience any of them. Had the salmon burger and to be honest was a tad dry, but would not prevent me from returning, just the nature of the beast.

Awesome place! Amazing food! Staff is superb! What's not to love? And they have the largest mcmenamins menu in town right now. With all the Covid limited menus its refreshing to be able to enjoy some of my favorites from before quarentine! This is the Santa Fe bowl and it is delish! They also do Pizzas which the others do not. You should def check em out!

Still great twenty years later: five full stars. I used to come here all the time when I was in college between 1996-2000. My wife and I were back in the area for my birthday, and I'm happy to say that not only is this amazing brewpub just as great as it was over twenty years ago, it's actually even better. I had the Expedition Elk burger with fries, which was a hand-pattied 1/2 lb elk burger cooked perfectly to my request of medium rare. The burger tasted so good you could have it by itself and not complain but it was loaded with a scintillatingly scrumptious coffee-bacon jam, a really great black garlic aioli & white cheddar. If they gave me a bowl of just that coffee-bacon jam I'd probably eat it. I paired it with the Irish Stout, a nitro stout that was a beautiful example of the style. Very much like Guinness but with more forward chocolate notes. Very creamy head with a silky mouth feel. I wanted to try another style so I also had the Real Hef'n Good hefeweizen. Very fruity hef, which I really like. You can definitely taste the Hallertau Blanc hops with a piney, grassy flavor but I also got a lot of fruity notes with banana and citrus as fairly prominent. Not sweet but very well balanced and refreshing. Was particularly good with the fries and a good organic ketchup. My wife had a JR's Jumbo Deluxe with a fried egg, bacon and cheddar which was also cooked perfectly to her request of a medium, with clam chowder and a root beer. She was also wowed by the quality of the burger. The clam chowder was good but the celery in it was a little jarring. We're kinda chowder purists though so take that with a grain of salt. All in all, a fantastic dining experience. Cozy pub with a look and feel that hasn't really changed much in two decades but that's not a criticism. One of my top fifteen favorite restaurants anywhere.

Delicious beer, but outrageous prices. Got a side of fries and a beer and spent 20$.. it’s just getting out of hand to raise the prices of everything so much to where a burger and beers is just too expensive nowadays unless we want to settle for McDonald’s. Lower prices to be affordable to your demographic please.

Great local restaurant with a wide selection of craft brews. I'm quite fond of their IPAs. Their voodoo chicken strips and burgers are da bomb. Salads and soups are also very good.

Good place to eat, a bit on the expensive side... my $24 dollar steak with fries, was mostly fries. The steak was delicious though, melted in my mouth and cooked perfectly medium rare! Their cider flight was awesome and mulled wine delicious... cheesesteak sandwhich was yummy too. They were a bit slow to notice us standing at the entrance waiting to be seated, but the staff were very nice :)

Love coming here to play shuffleboard, but the meal prices have gotten so crazy that we just have a little happy hour snack and a beer. We appreciate the great kids menu. Staff are lovely and friendly.

Super cozy place and great bar food. The layout, seats, and especially the lighting all make it a joy to sit in. Only concern is that only one server (at least on the minors-allowed side) means they're a bit overworked, even when it isn't too busy. Our server regardless was very kind and had clear opinions on certain menu items which we certainly enjoyed and agreed with the recommendations.

Severely overpriced for the quality. $21 pulled pork and a $12 cocktail. Feels like your paying for the atmosphere and the operating cost of having such a large place. Two pool tables, darts, shuffleboard and two pinball tables. Service was on point.

Not sure the server knew what he was doing. There were 6 of us, four adults and 2 kids. We were seated right away but the server took his time. He did take drink orders and appetizers, but didn't offer a kids menu. The kids were bored out of their minds - we thought that the shuffleboard table might open up, but it didn't. We got drinks (they didn't come out at the same time at all) and ordered food after being there over 45 minutes. The kids ordered off of the menu because we couldn't find a kids menu and the server only brought two napkins for the appetizers. We had to ask for the smaller plates for sharing. I had to ask for a glass of water. After we ordered I asked for some coloring supplies because those usually go with having kids there. That's where we found the kids menu. Our meal start to finish was over 2 hours. I don't think the server was a bad person. More like he wasn't ever trained and he's doing the best he can. The food for the most part was stellar, from the pretzels, charcuterie, and buffalo chicken strips to the fish and chips. However, my salmon caesar salad had mostly raw salmon. By the time I got to that part, we had already been there for and hour and fifteen minutes so I just decided to eat around the raw stuff. Of course, the server never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. We had to flag him down every time. No refills on drinks unless we asked. It just wasn't what you would expect from such an awesome and consistent chain and what we spent per person - including on the children.

I’m honestly super disappointed, because I’ve gone to Mcmenamins several years before and enjoyed it. Today however was the opposite. The food is ridiculously expensive for the quality, we had a burger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was tough, the gluten free bun tasteless and dense. The chicken sandwich I barely ate because it was so unappetizing, and was practically drowning in aioli. On top of that despite the restaurant being practically empty our food took forever to arrive. All that for almost $100. There are so many other places you can get a better burger for cheaper. The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because our waiter was nice.

We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night with starving, cranky kids. It was clean and cozy and comfortable. The service was friendly and fast enough. Kids loved the pretzel sticks, the pizza crust was tasty. The tenders (we hot-sauced) were a great portion size and actually good. Cider, beer. Nothing fancy, but delicious and unpretentious.

The food is good and tasty, but the customer service can improve. First the host was not very welcoming, he asked how many of us and came in to see the table and never confirmed if we had to wait or anything. He just went and moved some dishes, went to the kitchen several times and made us wait at the door for a long time. Finally when he came back he didn't apologize or anything, he just took us to our table where we waited too long to be served. The waitress was very nice, but we can tell that she had a lot to do with very little staff. We waited a long time also for our food and for the bill. It was good and the place has a good vibe but can definitely improve on the service.

They knew for years that a major international event was coming, they saw a shiny new stadium going up a couple of blocks away, they certainly should have been aware that they were going to be the closest restaurant to the event and what the schedule was going to be. Yet when lots of hungry track fans showed up for lunch between the morning and afternoon programs the result was utter chaos. It was if they hadn't prepared at all. Dozens of tables sitting empty, other sitting uncleaned for half and hour or more, while panicked hosts were yelling at prospective diners that there would be a 2 hour wait to get seated and another hour to get served. Not even a beer or a snack to be had. It's amazing to me that a business this incompetent at dealing with something they knew was coming remains in business. They seem to be popular from these reviews (if they're real), but they certainly gave away a whole lot of money last week. The first time I tried to go there during the World Championships the treatment and state of the restaurant was shockingly chaotic, but I stuck it out to have a beer and a rather overcooked burger. I figured they would have adjusted and things would be better a week later, so I tried to go back, but the situation was in fact even worse. So they lost me to the place next door, which kindly served us in less than 20 minutes and was happy to get our business.

Always a fantastic experience here. Excellent food and drink menu that we can always count on, rotating seasonal cocktails and draft beers that never miss, and incredibly friendly staff. The host Jackson went above and beyond to make sure our party was all good and had everything we needed, even going out of his way to run our drink orders back when they were getting busy. I will always trust McMenamins to deliver quality food, drinks, and service, no matter what.

Both my burger and my wife's veggie burger were bland. Not bad, but not good either. The cheese sauce with the pretzels was good. Throw in the malfunctioning pinball game and server too busy talking to notice we were done and this was a disappointment. We shouldn't have to walk over and interrupt her conversation to get the check. The organic ketchup from Portland that most places use was the highlight.

Nice restaurant with plenty of seating. There’s a large menu selection and plenty of vegetarian/vegan options, but it is a little pricey. Would highly recommend their rice bowls! Good variety of drinks as well-great beers and cocktails (particularly their cucumber margarita). Lot of space for games as well, they’ve got pool as well as arcade games and TVs.

As a delivery driver, I will no longer be accepting orders from this location. Average wait is 20 minutes, so unless the tip is awesome, and the delivery distance short, you're not making minimum. Other than that, this place is awesome, so that's why the 4 stars. I love all the concert posters on the wall, and the shuffle board tables, so long wait times don't matter. And there's good beverages on tap.

The place, itself, and the people there really make the experience, so dining in is the way to go. We found ordering take out to be lacking. $30 (plus tip, for sure, the people who run the place are great!) for a cheeseburger with fries and a salad to go — things should be way better than what we received. Burger was bland and neither my child nor my mother were impressed — the burger itself was not consumed. Salad was, eh…fine, but unremarkable, and incredibly overpriced.

Prices have really gone up. Your average burger with fries is around $17. Still good food, though. And enjoyable atmosphere.

At least a 30 minute wait for our food, but they did give us a heads up. The curry bowl was very flavorful. The burger was good. The French fries were better than the tater tots. They had a decent beer selection as well. The service was good. There was lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Cheers 🍻
