Well, there's certainly been a lot of changes at T&G over the years. First, the staff there is awesome and are always friendly and helpful. The beer, wine and drink selection is great. The weekly entertainment options are nice as well. And, the new owner, Wes, seems like a great guy. Really, the main frustration is the menu. It has changed a couple times fairly drastically over the past several years. This past change though, is unfortunately, the tipping point for us. There used to be a lot of great, unique options that drew us there. The new menu is maybe a half step above dive-bar food. There's really nothing that jumps out as "I've got to go back to T&G and get that again" type food (maybe other than the poppers.) We heard that things got expensive and/or hard to source... That's fine, charge more to make up for the cost. We understand. But just going to what's cheap and easy doesn't sit well with us. There's just too many other spots around Eugene that have the trifecta (good food & drinks, good entertainment, quality staff) for us to continue going to T&G. Kinda sad, because it's always been a go-to spot for us but times change... Finally, and really secondarily, because staffing has been a huge issue these past couple years... but when you try to order food and are told you should order elsewhere because you won't get your food in the 2+ hours you anticipate being there, it seems like something there needs remedied as well.

This was our best “plan B” I’ve ever experienced! Started out with the Sugar & Spice pineapple margarita and I was so blown away that not only did I order a second but I begged our server for the recipe! My husband and I both got the taco platter (pork) because she raved about their house made salsa and she did not lie - so good! Chips were great, too! Overall a fantastic experience and I’ll *probably* be back for mixed-drink Monday tomorrow.

Solid spot. Food was delicious although had to wait a few more minutes than anticipated- checked in with the staff just to make sure order had gone through. Great selection of beers. Would come again.

The customer service of the staff and the quality of the meu has really declined over the past few years. I used to really enjoy coming here regularly and would bring visitors from out of town all the time because the beverage selection was good and there were a lot of different menu options. Recently though I've had three experiences where the staff have been flat-out rude and dismissive, and not eager at all to provide good customer service. Most recently, I purchased a sandwich for pickup while I was working in the area. I put in the order and the Porter service said I would receive a text message when the order was ready for pickup. I waited for over an hour, called four times over the course of the hour to check in and was sent to voicemail each time, and when I finally walked over to see if the order was ready the staff told me the food had been waiting for almost an hour. When I said that I didn't receive a text message the staff were very dismissive and didn't seem to care at all. The staff offered to remake it, but based on how the staff responded I didn't trust them not to tamper with it and by that point I was so hungry I let them know I would just take the food as it was. The staff didn't offer to refund the order or make any other offer to remedy the poor experience. I won't be going back or recommending this spot anymore.

If I could give zero stars I would. My friends and I went out to celebrate my birthday and stopped in for a beer before our dinner reservation elsewhere. My friend tried to order a beer from the bar, but his ID was denied even though it was a real ID so he offered a second ID which was a federal military ID and yet he was still denied. We were all denied and the bartender was very rude.

The food is good and they have a great beverage selection including Crux non-alcoholic beer on tap, which is a perk for me. There's no table service other than getting your food and beverages delivered so you have to order inside at the counter or on your phone. That's a bummer because you have to go inside (the outside tables are the best place to sit) if you need anything else or if there's a problem with your order. I had the most expensive Cobb salad of my life, $21, and it was missing the gorgonzola cheese but there was a line at the counter inside so I couldn't really do anything about it. Of course I had already added the generous tip when I paid upon ordering so keep that in mind- you will get whatever "service" you happen to get. Was it worth $59 for dinner for 2? Before tip? Not so much. It bums me out because I want to support local restaurants.

Weak food. Costco warm up type. Weak drinks in very small cups. Absolutely no service at all. Went on taco Tuesday, don’t bother you will get a better meal at Taco Bell for cheaper and faster, and taste better… and I hate Taco Bell! This is the second time I went should have known better after the first time. Not worth it!

Great service at this nice relaxing restaurant. Had a good selection of beer. I only had one due to having the brisket Philly cheesesteak, which had to be 2000 calories, but so worth it.

I had, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had in an eating establishment last night. Friends and I stopped by the Tap and Growler to have a drink. We were ordering and tipping heavily, enjoying a visit together as long time friends. At one point, someone came by and quietly said it was last call. We respectfully didn't order more food at that time, but ordered one more drink. We were deep in conversation, when the guy that had been at the register (short gray/blonde hair and black rimmed glasses) walked by with an outdoor umbrella and hit the wall and floor with it, hard enough that all of us jumped. He proceeded to do it again with the next umbrella even harder. We were trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Never thinking it had anything to do with closing. There were other patrons there as well, a very small and quiet crowd. Then he came to the table and angrily said, okay you guys need to pack it up and leave, you were told you need to go because we're closing. We were shocked. Nobody said they were closing yet. We would have respectfully left had we been told that. It was out of left field and downright disturbing. I will never set foot in there again, and I will warn others. My friends and I are all professional and respectful people, this was so crazy. It was so shocking and embarrassing. There are so many other wonderful places to choose from in Eugene. I've crossed this one off my list. I will not be subjected to his behavior again. NOTE: I will say that the cook was just wonderful and really friendly. In fact, he was so nice that we pooled together and gave him an extra large tip that he immediately put in the tip jar to share. Nice that you doubled down and shifted blame on the patrons in your reply which just made it worse. My response was entirely after we were treated horribly and umbrellas were slammed. A shame. It was unnerving. My stomach literally feels sick when I think about it. A terrible end to a wonderful night with friends.

Updated review to 5/5. Owner got in touch with me and refunded the difference between the special and the online price. Just be sure to order from the bar to get the specials! --- Cocktails were good, people were friendly... 3/5 stars because $5 mixed drink Mondays apparently only works if you order from the counter not from the table, which was not communicated. Also note the 'new ordering guide lines: online only please'. Hrm.

We so wanted to love this place. Beer selection was great. Staff was very friendly. But…we ordered Buffalo chicken sandwiches and they were the frozen processed chicken patties like you get in school - something that should never be served in a restaurant that advertises a “chicken breast sandwich.” Unfortunately these sandwiches were $12 each. Too bad.

One of my favorite spots in town. Great beer & cider selection, and love that they have local wine on Tap! The owners are so wonderful and i always feel at home sitting at their bar. I got a BLTA today, just what i needed! They have the coolest private back room that sits 25 for a private party!

Love the Tap & Growler! One of the best selections of craft beers in town in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff and owners are always super friendly. The menu is fantastic and well paired to the beers and wines and drinks available. Fantastic small pub ambience! Bonus: the online ordering service is really easy to use and makes ordering without standing in line a breeze.

Person who took the order was talking to another employee the entire time about her medicaid and how she didn't feel good, while she was ringing up our order. The front counter was un manned for a bit while there was a line of people waiting. Very unprofessional. Cook brought our order out one at a time with a good gap in between. We all 3 ate at seperate times.... of course you tip ahead of time before you relize how terrible the service is and we are hoping what ever she was sick with we don't catch. Ugggh. Total regret coming here

I love going to the Tap & Growler! Trivia nights here on Wednesdays are always a blast and, in my opinion, the best in Eugene. The staff are always friendly and have given great recommendations for new beers to try. The ambience on quieter afternoons is cozy, warm, and great for reading/getting work done while grabbing a pint. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a chill vibe :)

I loved the food, the prices were incredibly fair for the quality. Had a great cocktail and they had an large selection on their beer list. I'd say their service needs some work.

Everything was going great (the guy who was cooking is a gem!) until the guy behind the bar with the short white hair SNAPPED! I've never seen anything like it.. We were 1 of 2 tables that were still left when he started slamming outside umbrella stands on the floor near where we were sitting. It startled the heck out of us. I thought maybe he dropped something until he did it again. Then he barked that it was time to pack up and get out, not in a nice way, he was so incredibly rude! We had been told it was last call, but no one came back around to even tell us it was time to leave yet... not once. We were good customers, too, tipping generously and quietly chatting. He was passive-aggressive and rude and I feel sorry for anyone who might have to work with him. IF YOU ARE THE OWNER you need to get the guy with the shorter white hair outta your restaurants. We used to come throughout the year but we won't be back. UPDATE: sounds like the manager of this account must be the same person who was being so incredibly rude? The response is an incorrect account of what actually happened. Buyer Beware!

We live in the neighborhood and have been to Tap & Growler on numerous occasions. This, unfortunately, was possibly the worst experience we've had. The place was relatively full but we were able to find a table after walking in. We quickly scanned the QR code for the menu and ordered. Two beers and two salads. The beers came rather quick, but our salads took over 45 minutes. It was noticeably slow, for salads. This main issue I had was the Cobb salads were $21 each!! I might expect to pay that for a salad at Marche, but not at a bar. And the salad was overly disappointing when it arrived. I totally get the supply chain issues and how things are more expensive, but our salads were nothing more than lettuce, under ripe avocado pieces and chicken. Nothing near the $21 price tag. Like I mentioned at the beginning, we come here often for both in person and take out. Nothing has disappointed me more than the salads tonight. And I get it, maybe salads are not the best option, but it should be a viable option, even at a bar. I will say, the staff are always friendly when we come in. That's the best thing going here.

Went to the Tap and Growler on a Saturday night. We go out with another couple and are working our way around the valley checking our microbrews and food, so we are looking for pubs with a good selection of brews/ciders as well as food. Since we live in the mid valley we will checking out places in Corvallis Albany and some of the smaller towns. We usually dine early because by 6-7 PM most places are really busy. After 7PM on a Saturday there were only 8 people in the pub including the 4 of us. That should tell ya something. Pros: -When we showed up there was only one other couple there. -The bartender greeted us warmly. -We are able to find something to drink for each of us. (all differing taste) Bathrooms were clean. (shared with other businesses) Dining area was clean. Cons: -No waiter/waitress. You go to the bar to order food/ drinks. OK I know not all pubs have wait staff. -We order meals at the same time. The other coupe got there meal in 20 minutes, it took 50 minutes to get our meal after ordering( remember only 2 other people in the place before us). Brisket cheesesteak came out cold. There wasn’t a french fry longer than 1 inch. most were 1/2 inch or less. No one every ask how we were doing, Oh ya, kind of like eating at fast food restaurant, only this isn’t very fast and much more expensive. ratings: Starting point 5 no wait staff -1 = 4 long wait for food -1 = 3 cold/ poor food -1 = 2 ----------------------- ------------ Final Score 2 Conclusion: If you want to come in have a good brew and not eat this is the place for you. If every other place in town is busy, and it is going to take 3 hours to get a seat and you like average to below average food. This place is for you. If you want to eat good food with your brew, just stay home or just move on down the line. There is approximately 40 places serving micro brews and food around the lower valley. Good luck.

Great selection and cool space! Unfortunately we had to wait long enough during a slow time for our chips and salsa that I had to go up and ask about it. I also wonder how often they change/clear their lines bc I ordered an IPA and definitely got a lager, despite her pouring from the proper handle. We're all human and we have no hard feelings, the staff were absolutely delightful and corrected everything right away. We certainly would come back!!

Great drinks and even better food. Try the poppers and you will have your mind blown. We love going and just kicking it for a couple hours. It’s great atmosphere and great way to order.

While this spot has changed owners since I was last here, the quality is just as good as s when it first opened! The vibe is very inviting, the food is delicious, and the beers are fairly priced for the area. I'd love a quiet, hometown bar like this in my neighborhood back in Portland. If you enjoy beer and cider, this is the place for you, there is something for everyone including a full bar. Beyond enjoyable experience.

Kind of had a food experience that was significantly less than prior times. I will be back though, our service was perfect and they seriously were asking how everything was so I shared with them. I believe in them and that they will take my feedback as constructive criticism. There aren't enough cool places in town and this is one of them and so I believe in them to come through for me in the future.
