I had read I lot of really good reviews before eating there and I guess I had quite high expectations from this all vegan diner. In reality it wasn’t a pleasant experience, the atmosphere wasn’t nice, we had to order at the counter and the food wasn’t tasty. Vegan Mac and cheese side dish tasted really bad… I’m not sure if this was from the food I ate at the Cornbread Cafe but two hours after eating I started to feel really sick in my stomach and had to throw up..

Nice vibe and excellent place for vegans. We stopped on this place in afternoon on our way back from Portland to San Francisco. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. Me being a vegetarian is always on the lookout for non meat options and this place gave me a lot of options. We tried the burger, fries and burrito. The fries are absolutely delicious, the burger has a nice tofu patty. The burrito was okay, I personally did not like it. Would have loved to try out other options too but we were short on time. 5 stars for ambience, 5 stars for service and 4 for food.

Everything was phenomenal. Most authentic vegan southern food ive tried. My family is from Alabama so I'm picky about my southern food but they did it perfectly here. I recommend trying everything hahaha the mains are fantastic, and you can choose your own sides. We got fried chickn, mac n cheese, cole slaw , cornbread, jalapeno cornbread a hush puppies, biscuits n gravy!! They even have proper sweet tea. Next time I'd love to try their kale, or would love to see collard greens on this menu!

Super good! Always try to stop here whenever passing through Eugene. The chicken and waffles is always bangin. Loved the thick country gravy, and the real maple syrup. Great food you can’t find anywhere else, and all vegan! Nice atmosphere too, very cozy and old timey diner with a colorful twist.

Just wow !!!! I stopped on my way back from Portland here and I still wish if this has a franchise in bay area. So good for vegetarian and vegan people, you can order whatever you want and dont need to worry about the ingredients.

This place is a gem! Even my meat eating family was in love with the vegan comfort food served up here! The Eugenewich was super flavorful! My sister's chicken and cornbread with hush puppies were great too!

I had the fried tofu! Probably the best so far! Very good! The biscuit was yummy you could taste the salt, not overpowering, then the sweet butter! Oh man, great combination! The kale could have used a little more seasoning. I just loved the atmosphere! Orange is my favorite color! And the staff! Awesome! Friendly, cheerful, patient. And it was SO busy in there! Way to go. I'll be back for more, for sure!

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, me and my boyfriend were pretty excited to try it! It’s a shame the inside was closed for dine-in, however I do understand! The food was sub par. I was definitely expecting a lot more after reading the reviews. I got the fried chicken and my boyfriend got the steaks. The taste was good! However the food had a massive “middle school lunch” feel. The steaks were very similar to a TV dinner. They were small and smothered in sauce. The fried chicken was decent but did not taste cooked all the way as I but into a lot of raw beans. Our favorite parts were the mashed potatoes and cornbread! The cornbread is AMAZING! I would absolutely go back for the cornbread but nothing else unfortunately. I think this place was worth the try, but if we do go back I’m just gonna get the cornbread lol

Delicious food, awesome service, and great outside seating. I’m not vegan and was a bit hesitant but everything tasted great. The fried chicken tasted like sausage and was super well seasoned and yummy. The fries were really over salted though which was disappointing. The ranch was delicious and didn’t taste lacking of buttermilk.

So satisfying every time. More than enough food for a fair price. I feel so lucky to have this totally vegan restaurant here! The place is clean and staff is friendly too.

I had chick’n and waffles. I also got to try some things my dining partners ordered! Everything I tried was delicious. (Pictured are the chick’n and waffles, hush puppies and cornbread with maple “butter”.)

Can't recommend this place enough! The staff were really nice and the food was amazing. I'm not a huge tofu person, but I got the Southern Fried tofu sandwich and it was incredible! Best tofu I've ever had! Definitely worth a stop in Eugene.

This wonderful little comfort food diner is where you need to take your non plant-based friends to let them experience how vegan is done! It's the kind of food experience I personally love, but mainly for that moment when someone with you- not expecting vegan to taste that good- stops after the first bite, opens their eyes wide, and says: "No. Way." We shared the breakfast burrito with a cinnamon spiced sweet potato mash, and the Eugenewich- a tofu slab covered with veggie sauce and cheese on a toasted brioche bun. Had to have the side of jojo's, and chose the agave dijon for dipping. All the flavors were great, looking forward to trying a few other options on our next trip through Eugene. Can't believe we didn't try the cornbread!

This food was absolutely delicious. It really gives you a full southern feel from the breading of the chik'n fried tempeh to the 'creamy' coleslaw. We had a build your own platter to try a bunch of things out and I can't recommend it enough. To top it off the grilled biscuit with the delectable sweet spread was the icing on the cake of a wonderful meal.

Great vegan comfort food spot! The fried "chicken" has the classic crunchy, satisfying breading that totally evokes the real thing, the cashew gravy is outstanding, and the breakfast burrito stuffed with "bacon", "eggs" and fries is sooo delicious.

If you're looking for a bite without meat, animal products, or processed goods, then you found the right place. They make, as far as I can tell, everything from scratch using vegan ingredients. Mac and uncheese, vegan gravy and biscuits, and I'd love to know how they made the "sausage" for the breakfast burrito. That thing was amazing. Friendly crew. Quaint location. Will return.

I stopped in while driving through Eugene and thoroughly enjoyed my visit! Since there were so many tempting choices (all vegan), I struggled to choose, but the staff were incredibly helpful in their suggestions. I ultimately settled on the Build Your Own with Chick'n Fried Tempeh & Gravy, Mac unCheese, Sassy Slaw, and Jalapeno Cornbread. I also threw in a side of the hushpuppies and a chocolate shake for good measure :). Everything was delicious and I had leftovers for days! Everyone who worked there was so kind and provided stellar service. I highly recommend giving Cornbread Cafe a try!

Vegan diner with excellent service and a charming atmosphere. Staff is charismatic and friendly, as well as willing to answer questions about the various dishes. Plenty of variet within the dishes which generally follow the vibe of comfort food. I strongly recommend the Eugenewich, their signature sandwich.

The food was quite greasy as you'd expect from any comfort food but it was incredibly delicious. The Reuben was particularly amazing and I couldn't stop eating the Cajun fries. The booths could use an update as they were duct taped in spots, but it was clean and the food was great so I'd definitely visit again perhaps for a breakfast item next time!

Greta little place in Eugene. My friends from massage school and I headed here for a celebratory lunch. Great place for those who are more on the vegetarian and vegan side of eating. I had the Chik'n & Biscuit Chik'n-fried seitan and agave Dijon dressing on a split and grilled biscuit. I also had a side of Cajun fries. Everything was tasty and next time I’ll ask for a little extra sauce as I enjoyed it for my fries and biscuit.

Husband and I were visiting this place on our long distance bike trip. We ended up going twice because it was so good! I would recommend ordering one of the platters, because you get two sides and cornbread. That way you get to try the most options possible. My favorite was the fried tempeh platter. I also ordered the biscuit sandwich, which was very good as well. This is my favorite vegan restaurant, and I am from Seattle which has many vegan options, so that is a huge compliment!

Fabulous fries!! I love the combinations and options of vegan comfort food. I was surprised a few months back when they completely redid the menu, but I've been pleasantly surprised by anything I try there. Dine in or take out, whatever works. There's outdoor tables as well. Public restrooms accessible. I love the style and personality of the shop. Highly recommend. Watch out though, they are closed on Mondays.

I absolutely love eating here and so do my kids! We’ve been enjoying their vegan gluten-free options for years. Give it a shot! They won’t disappoint!!

Yum!! No indoor seating currently, but big tent outside. Dress warm if you go! Everyone was happy with what they ordered. I got the chili and cornbread. That cornbread was divine 🤩🤩🤩

So good! Went after the game and got the southern fried tofu with mashers and mac. A great meal for anyone-I’m not vegan or veggie but this is just great food!

AMAZING!! Cornbread with whatever butter they served. It’s so delicious!! I need one of this café’s next to my house. Best meal in our trip to Eugene.

Can we talk about Cornbread Cafe? Because holy vegan comfort food, Batman. This place is the bomb. Like it was so good I didn't even take pictures. It didn't last long enough. And the portion size is perfect, even for someone like me that eats as much as an adult rhinoceros at every meal. For just over 20 bucks I got a main, 3 sides, an app, and a drink! Every single thing was delicious, not a single miss in the bunch. That chicken fried tempeh with cashew gravy??? Just do yourself a favor and go get it asap.
