I visited the Rye restaurant with a large group of 10 when in Eugene for a conference. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is charming and very well laid out. It is lavishly appointed and cozy creating a very nice dining experience. Food: The food was incredible. It was a joy to see each person's order. I had the lamb with mashed potatoes and it was a culinary delight. Service: overall the service was good but this is where it fell down a little bit for me. I was a later rival and it felt like I was more of an inconvenience to them then a welcomed guest. Additionally the waitress delivered food to those who had arrived before me, but did not take my order when the food was delivered. I had to go find her and she said she was aware I was there but had just gotten really busy. Price: Price is relative to everyone so to me it felt a little expensive but to someone else it may be reasonable. Most entrees were between 30 to $40 per. Overall I recommend this restaurant as a wonderful dining experience. I would have given it five stars had I not felt like an afterthought to the servers.

The food was a dream! Seriously the most well priced and delicious food I’ve had in so long. The wait staff was sweet, knowledgeable, and professional. Decor was laid back and most people were wearing street clothes. 10/10 will be coming back again!

Clearly quality ingredients. Their lamb was tremendously tender and prawns we're seasoned delightfully .

We made reservations for dinner. I believe you need to specify if you want indoor or outdoor seating. Everything we ordered tasted very good, had wonderful presentation and most importantly, not drowning in butter and oil. We enjoyed their take on poutine and the "gravy" demi-glace was so addicting. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium. The seafood gnocchi felt very light and we surprisingly enjoyed the addition of roasted corn, which gave us elevated corn chowder vibes. None of the dishes we had were 100% traditional but we really enjoyed rye's spin on these classics. We cannot wait to dine there again.

Everything about this place is wonderful. We decided to appetizer up our early dinner (so we can have room for a 2nd dinner and desserts). We went with a delicious French Onion soup, caramelized carrots, sourdough bread and fried chevre. I could of eaten two of each of these dishes. No shame in unbuttoning the top button of my jeans.... I'm always happy with everything whenever I visit this restaurant. The service is always top notch, atmosphere laid back. This food is happiness.

I recently came back to Rye with a party of 20. They did not disappoint.. their customer service is astounding... The waiter David did everything to accommodate my group and he was kind. The food was delicious and the drink pink chick was so good. So again Rye... Thank you for everything.

The place was pretty packed on a Tuesday night. Luckily we had a reservation so no wait for us. Had steam mussels which was spectacular with the tomato based broth. Wife had wild Coho salmon as the main entree, while I had the boulaibase seafood stew. Both were cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chefs. Worth it. Note we were going to order smoked duck but it seems only available on Friday and Saturday night.

Great options for both indoor and outdoor seating. I had one of my favorite Pinot Gris (Annie amie) here. The food was fast and I had a nice Burrata and tomato confit salad. Really liked it. The price was standard and the size was just right ( for me, but i can imagine others saying this is overpriced ) for a small dinner meal. Couldn’t hope for more! The desert was ( as in photo) a surprise. I recommend the Haystack. This is definitely a place Id hope to return and try out the other dishes.

Very cool whiskey/bourbon bar. Food was top notch for a bar in Eugene. Drinks were on point. A definite return visit.

I recently took my girlfriend to dinner here for her birthday. Although I didn't have a reservation we were seated quickly on the patio outside. The ambiance of the flowing traffic pretty much sucks but not much they can do about it. Eventually our waiter came around and took our drink and appetizer orders. I got the French onion soup which is very very good. My lady got a house salad and we split the roasted carrots which were amazing. After having drinks and a bottle of wine we waited and waited for our dinner. We both ordered the steak and requested it medium. After quite a while we were served our food. The steaks were basicly well done. The veggies were raw pretty much and thrashed potatoes could have used more time in the microwave. At 35 bucks a plate for a steak I would avoid this place. You can do a better job in your back yard. I know I can. So this place is nice and all. For the money definitely not worth it and I won't be going back

On an annual pilgrimage to Oregon Country Faire, we most happily stumbled upon a most auspicious eatery. Verily, Rye is a most excellent establishment, situated in the fair city of Eugene, Oregon, that I doth heartily commend to all who seek a delectable and memorable repast. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was struck by the warm and inviting ambiance, as well as the courteous and attentive staff. One of the dishes that did most impress me at Rye was the saganaki, which was truly a marvel. The cheese was melted to perfection and possessed a most delightful flavor that was well-complemented by the accompanying bread and lemon. It was a most auspicious beginning to the meal and set the tone for the delights that were to follow. Methinks the charcuterie board, adorned with an array of cheeses, pates, and terrines, is a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The pates and terrines, crafted with the finest meats and herbs, are a savory delight, each bite bursting with flavor. The dried fruits, carefully selected and arranged, add a touch of sweetness and texture to the board, while the stone ground mustard provides a piquant contrast to the richness of the meats and cheeses. The house-made pickled vegetables, with their vibrant colors and crisp textures, are a refreshing accompaniment to the charcuterie. Another dish that I doth highly recommend is the spring chinook salmon. The fish was cooked to perfection and possessed a most exquisite flavor that was enhanced by the accompanying vegetables, polenta and sauce. It was a truly memorable dish that I would order again, next year without hesitation. I had the pleasure of sampling the mussels, which were truly outstanding. They were cooked to perfection and possessed a most savory flavor that was well-complemented by the accompanying broth and bread. It was a most delightful dish to share with companions and served as a splendid addition to the meal. Verily, I must express my utmost admiration for the dish known as sugo della domenica, for it hath transported me to the verdant hills of Tuscany. The tagliatelle was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite, and the sauce was a symphony of flavors that danced upon my palate. The tomatoes were sweet and tangy, ground pork and beef sautéed to magnificence, the garlic was pungent and aromatic, and the herbs were fresh and fragrant. It was a dish that I shall not soon forget and one that I would highly recommend to any lover of Italian cuisine. Indeed, I must say that the artisanal selection of handmade confections at this establishment is a true marvel. The confections are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. The chocolates are rich and velvety, with a depth of flavor that is truly remarkable. The bon bons are delicate and decadent, with a smooth and creamy texture that melts in the mouth. Verily, the confection known as toffee is a most wondrous and delectable treat. Its creation is a delicate art, requiring the skillful blending of sugar and butter, heated to a precise temperature until it reaches a rich, golden hue. Once cooled, it is then broken into small, bite-sized pieces, each one a symphony of sweetness and texture. Truly, to partake of this confection is to experience a moment of pure indulgence, fit for the most discerning of palates. Truly, the confections at this establishment are a testament to the skill and artistry of the master confectioners who create them. It is a pleasure and an honor to partake in such exquisite treats, and I would highly recommend them to any lover of fine sweets. Truly, Rye hath outdone themselves, and it is a testament to their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their menu. In sum, I cannot recommend Rye highly enough. The cuisine is exceptional, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is courteous and attentive. If thou art in search of a fine establishment in Eugene, Oregon, I doth implore thee to visit Rye.

We were celebrating the birthday of my wife and we enjoyed the food, drinks and the atmosphere a lot. The waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended a perfect wine.

We’ve been twice now and it’s pretty good. They’re a bit more on the expensive side but I feel like I get what I pay for. The food is good quality and service is good as well. First time our waitress seemed pretty new and wasn’t the best but the second time our waitress was awesome. A few issues on our bill like charging us for the more expensive whiskey when we asked for the cheaper one, but nothing so far they weren’t happy to fix for us. Both times weeks apart we really looked forward to ordering the mussels and both times they were out saying they only had enough for the seafood stew. Disappointing.. Also, if you’re getting the seafood stew, just know it has a really strong “Mexican food” flavor I wasn’t expecting. A bit overpowering. They made up for it with the duck plate I ordered the next time though.

Upscale but also casual. Good quality food and drinks. Great place for a nice dinner or special occasion. Large selection of whiskey and wine. Beer not so much.

My husband and I and our small dog Stella stopped in Eugene to spend the night on our way up to WA. I wanted a good dinner for us but we needed to bring Stella along for dinner. Thank goodness I found Rye. They have a dog friendly patio for well behaved dogs. We were immediately greeted with cold water and kindness. The patio was nice and shady and comfortable. The food here is fresh and delicious and artistic. My husband had the ribs which he really enjoyed. I had a fresh butter lettuce salad and the soup of the day; a tomato and it was so good I almost wanted another bowl. I also ordered a special pink martini and then one more. Not sure what was in it because it is a bartender secret but I'm guessing it was vodka based and tasted light, fresh and perfect for a summer day. The staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. I think 6 different ones came out to give a hello or a pat on the head for Stella. Do not hesitate to give this jewel of a restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.

Went on recommendation, couldn't be more pleased! We were taken care of for our anniversary, to say the food and service were impeccable would be an understatement! The wine was perfect, atmosphere is busy but thankfully the tables are mostly secluded so it feels more intimate. We are definitely an "alt" couple and we did not stick out. Mixed drinks were perfectly balanced. Not cheap but not expensive either. You definitely need to try this place out!!

Absolutely amazing food. The menu is small, but in a good way, the selection is still varied enough that it fits a variety of tastes, while letting their chefs perfect their dishes. Service was wonderful, drink selection was vast, atmosphere was quite inviting. I'll absolutely be returning.

We have been here a handful of times and enjoyed the cocktails and food. They make their own chocolates but we haven’t tried them yet. Maybe next visit. The space feels intimate and we like both sitting at the tables as well as the bar.

This place is on the pricey side BUT worth it. Their food is indescribable it's so good. It's in a class all its own. The wait staff and bartenders are all very friendly and attentive. I love eating here. They have a wonderful in door or outdoor seating area. Don't miss out.

I came for a friend’s birthday dinner. I ordered a drink from the menu and it was unpalatable. It was so bitter and not a single person at the table could drink it. I politely asked if I could get an old fashion instead and the waitress there didn’t acknowledge me at all. Everyone at the table wasn’t sure if I was going to even get a new drink. Sometime later an old fashion came, which is nice, but communication is key here. I had the salmon, which was good but not spectacular. I did enjoy the cheese appetizer. I am giving Rye’s 3 stars because I felt like atmosphere was lacking, the waitstaff seemed unhappy to be there, and the food was decent.

The reservation system did not work so we came in and they seated right away. The food was great. When an off glass of wine was brought and this was brought to the waitress, she did take it back but returned saying that everyone else who tasted it thought it was fine. She did offer to replace it with a different glass of wine, but it was an unpleasant experience to be treated in a way that presumed a lack of experience with wine. We wondered if it was a wine from the previous day as it was clearly bad.

Speechless... One of my besties took me here for my birthday while I was visiting from OK and I was thoroughly impressed. The cuisine offered here definitely isn't my usual, but I was on vacation and decided to be adventurous. 2 words... Oh my. Those were the 2 words from when I took my very first bite here. We got the charcuterie board, duck poutine, lamb, pork, and both of us got a couple different drinks. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth good! I was not expecting to like everything there, but I did! Everything was fresh and more than enough for just the two of us. Needless to say we had leftovers to take home. Highly recommend anything on the menu as you cannot go wrong with whatever you pick.

One of the best dinner experiences we've had in awhile. Great drink menu. Okay/ good selection of wines. Very knowledgeable staff. Food was fantastic. Presentation was good. Atmosphere was very cozy. Really enjoyed our evening and would absolutely recommend Rye.

I have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. The staff looked like they were beaten. No smiles and looking down. Only one person smiled and looked at us. Although we had a reservation, we got a table in the middle of a small room next to a large party. The table next to us, large party, kept bumping into my wife and our table. Respectfully, we asked to be moved. They found us a table. The host signaled with a wave of his wrist. Never said a word, just gestured. I have never left a "fine" restaurant before, but we just couldn't stay with this poor, hostile atmosphere. I wanted a good meal, we went elsewhere. We won't go back.

Had a wonderful meal with family. Menu was great and food was delicious. The service was attentive, knowledgable and sociable. A bit pricey for the atmosphere and portions, all in all, a pretty enjoyable meal.

All dishes were delicious from the soup and salad to the fish and chicken dish. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a romantic dinner. The ambiance was desirable and the volume was low.

Excellent local restaurant located in historic Eugene neighborhood, accommodating management, friendly staff with knowledge to share of a diverse and tasty QR menu, masks required unless fully vaccinated, restaurant busy but not crowded due to occupancy limitations, no tip service keeps dinner at $25 per person with appetizers, meals and dessert served but with excellent service from start to finish! Indoor and patio seating, excellent choice of selection on menu, decent operational hours, highly recommended for dinner!

Anniversary date this year was celebrated at rye. We tried the poutine and lamb and couscous and pork cider stew. My favorite thing we had there was the drink which was the Scarlet Letter.

  • 5/5 Robert H. 2 years ago on Google
Very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. We had the pleasure of enjoying dinner mid-week (Reservations suggested). The menu choices are enticing but a bit limited for all tastes. I enjoyed the largest and unbelievably delicious smoked pork chop. My family dined on the Catch of the Day (Wild Salmon) and the Tutto Mare (Seafood pasta). Impressed with the prompt & courteous service and the bar staff makes great drinks. Thank you for an amazing meal and experience. We will be back.

Pleasant service, easy pace. We had the roasted carrots for the table - delicious! Amongst four, we had four different entrees and each earned high marks. There was great depth of flavors. We will return- no question about it.
