The Lion and Owl was a last minute decision and a happy surprise. We were looking for a place to eat brunch in Eugene and stumble upon this establishment. We share the Salmon Platter and Smoked Potato. The pour over coffee was a great way to start the day. We were both extremely full upon completion.

A beautiful interior with incredible food. Everyone who stopped by the table was so nice and very informative about the style of dining as well as the dishes themselves. Very elegant brunch spot with great specialty mimosas. I really enjoyed the family style servings and wonderful flavors.

One of the best brunches of my life! There is clearly so much attention to detail in every aspect of this place- the beautiful glassware and real silverware, decor, service, ingredients, execution… so thoughtful! You’ll want to take photos of everything. And, the food was exploding with flavor. We enjoyed the chips and dip (glorified sour cream and onion dip.. with caviar), smoked potato, breakfast sandwich, and omelet Rockefeller. Too many good things about each one to even begin! Even the coffee was excellent. And the bill was just $63 before tip for two (a steal for us New Yorkers). Highly highly rec for a beautiful, tasty experience! Bravo.

Foie Gras pop tart sounded so weird but ended up being amazing! The camera did not succeed in eating first but everything was top notch. Very fresh oysters. Order their daily baked good, their banana bread is possibly best I’ve had!!

Best spot for birthday brunches. Erin and Nuvia are the best treats in this town. Food is above par. Salmon cooked perfectly. Ginger turmeric broth to die for. The oat pancakes have the perfect richness. And the ambiance was perfect. Definitely a staple of Eugene

Loved this place! We sat in the airstream, had the steak and salmon which were both excellent. You have to get the beets, and then the warm butter cake for desert. Wow!

The ambience was something to admire. The air stream, and wall of plants created an inviting atmosphere. The avocado toast and buckwheat pancakes were delicious, I would definitely recommend ordering these. The seasonal mimosa was delightful! I’m looking forward to coming back for dinner and trying the unusual Negroni.

I’m in Eugene looking at schools with my daughter. This spot is in downtown Eugene. My daughter had the avocado toast with egg. I asked for eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast which aren’t on the menu as a combo but Zack our waiter made it happen. It was super delicious. The staff was attentive, fast and obviously accommodating. Cloth napkins and crystal goblets so on the fancy side. Binary restrooms but clean if a little cold.

I have traveled all over the world. But I must say this is one of my favorite breakfast places I’ve ever gone to. The service was amazing. Ramiro, was our server! He set us up with the best dishes to try since we were in and out of town. Pancakes were out of this world. Took pictures of the rest of our dishes. Take a look. Everything was phenomenal!⚡️

The food was amazing. We got the beets salad and pork belly platter. The smoeky beets were something I have never tasted before. Will visit again.

We had an amazing time at Lion and Owl. We celebrated my 30th birthday, and the bartender, MJ, went out of her way to make my day even more special. This is by far our favorite place to eat in Eugene. Not only is the food amazing, the service and drinks are top notch. Highly recommend!!

The establishment boasts an inviting ambiance with tasteful, fresh decor that sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff displayed exceptional friendliness, and the culinary offerings were of high quality, earning my commendation. However, I have rated this restaurant with 4 stars due to a notable issue during our visit. Our party of eight encountered timing discrepancies in the service of our food orders. Although this venue encourages communal dining and sharing of entrees, our individual dishes were delivered separately, each at varying intervals. This inconvenience became particularly vexing when the first course, a Polenta dish, was presented, and my own order materialized 20 minutes later. Regrettably, this disparity detracted from my overall enjoyment, as I refrained from commencing my meal until all guests had been served, not wishing to cause undue delay for my family. This discrepancy in the timing of food service was indeed disappointing. Despite this hiccup, I would cautiously recommend this establishment to those who do not mind the prospect of separate meal deliveries.

Exciting and seasonal menu. We ordered the pancakes and scrambled eggs, both were delicious and very flavorful. Service was a bit disjointed, my husband got his dish 15+ minutes before mine came out. My hazelnut coffee was 4-5oz so very small, but good. I will definitely come back and try the dinner menu.

Let's focus on the positive. The food was delightful. Highly recommended the banana bread, just a sinful way to start a Sunday. I had to eat my sandwich with a fork because it was buttery baby! In an oily way. but it hit the flavor notes it was shooting for. The mimosa was strong. Like they squeeze enough strawberry to color and sent it. If that's your thing, here's your spot. You will be waited on by every server in the place, which I personally love because I have a lot of whims, but means tip sharing. (Boo!) Bobby Flay approved ambiance; very passive aggressively WWOIG. Reservation recommended

Wow! We did brunch here and it was ALL phenomenal. Didn’t take pictures of all the food. Missing was the oat pancakes. They have tasty non and alcoholic drinks as well. JUST GO! You won’t regret it.

We reserved for 3 at 7:15 pm & arrived on time only to wait 35 minutes for our table. We kept being promised a few minutes more until we were finally seated. The food is very good. I had had lunch here in the past a couple times. I call it a french fusion style as the chef is very creative. Be prepared to spend a bit for a good dinner meal. At the end, the dinner rolls ($2/pc) & 2 glasses of wine were complimented for the inconvenience of our long wait. We had salmon, beet salad & gnocchi.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile and I’m glad I finally did. Wish I would have gone sooner because it was delicious! It’s awesome to have a place this good in Eugene. I can’t wait to go back and try some other things.

Delicious foods that was been thoughtfully curated and planned. They have an emphasis on using really good seasonal produce and working with local farms. The waitress we had was very nice and friendly too.

One of your best local options for fancy, foodie brunch. Our meal was served tapas style in an environment with a cool mid century design aesthetic. The dishes were richly flavored, with every little detail considered to maximize flavor and presentation. There was also a sizeable menu of wines and cocktails. On the expensive side for Eugene, the reason to visit Lion and Owl is partially for the chic brunch experience. For our table, the standout dish was the Omelette Rockefeller. We did not opt for the additional caviar. Be advised that as of January 2022, this establishment chooses to go beyond state mandates in their Covid precautions, requiring a vaccine card for entry.

Beautiful venue with an Airstream trailer inside the building! Gourmet menu that I recommend looking at online beforehand. Very good food and service. Kirsten made our meal wonderful by helping accommodate everyone. Highly recommend but make a reservation!

Wow! What a local gem! Generously portioned, to share, (so you can try more tasty things from the menu). Each item had something delightfully delicious yet ingeniously surprising. Like the crust on the perfectly cooked salmon, the caramelized crumb on the warm butter cake, the notes of currant and chocolate in the pour over coffee. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pure Eugene-funky to functional to fashion forward all together.

Amazing brunch, the best we’ve had in Eugene. The toast is a generous portion, it was the biggest piece of avocado toast I’ve ever seen. The forest mushroom toast was incredible. Super friendly atmosphere. Would recommend reservations or arriving when they open; we arrived precisely at 10am and it was immediately busy.

If I could give more stars for service I would. Best I've ever had at any restaurant! Food was phenomenal as were the drinks. Only thing I would like to add though, I sure do miss the old potato dish. Tasted just like a ham hock!! New one is good, just prefer the other. Loved all the vegetarian options! And dessert was amazing 🤩

Restaurant look busy all the time. Not wait long time for food. Cake are so amazing. I recommend you should try cake! Toast avocado are fine.

Phenomenal Valentine's Day meal! This is true gourmet food topped off with wine pairings that flatter every dish. If you want to have a truly extraordinary meal, this is it.

Went for brunch this afternoon. Wasn’t busy at all and we were sat immediately. The food was great but the portions were small for the price. I got a Bloody Mary which had the perfect amount of spice and an open faced omelette which was topped with wonderfully made tomatoes and mushrooms. I will definitely be back but I think I’ll save it for a special occasion or something like that vs just an everyday brunch spot.

This place is absolutely out of this region! Haha. Very classy French provincial style offerings that vary depending on the season. The construction of each plate is unique and allows for the combination of flavors to really come through and stand as individual at the same time. Fresh and delectable! The palate of this chef is extraordinary, especially for a small town like Eugene. We are lucky to have this place right here in our neighborhood. I’ve been several times and It’s my favorite place in Oregon. No lie. I can’t wait to go back!

We were in Eugene for a short vacation and this cute place caught our attentions. Foods were absolutely superb and worth every penny. The rotisserie chicken was tender and juicy. Presentations were also aesthetically pleasing. Loved it!

The kind of eatery with playful dishes, impeccable service, yet downplayed atmosphere, which makes it fun and very appealingly approachable. Fun to sample all the brunch options and the menu is progressive. Local beers are available. Homemade chips and dip and salad are the tastiest.

A great and unexpected brunch stop in town. The decor is light and airy and the airstream inside makes you extra excited. The menu is unexpected and daring so leave your picky eaters at home. We went for the chips and dip and foie gras toast as a starter. Both were excellent. Probably some of the best homemade chips I've had and they're not greasy at all. The foie gras toast is basically a grown up pbj that doesn't disappoint. The open face omelette was a hit with everyone and the pancakes were the absolute best pancakes I've ever had!

Can't say enough great comments about how much care, knowledge and pride goes into each dish. Every accouterment thoughtfully choosen in every part(tableware, decorations, etc.) of the restaurant. Cocktails were great also, but honestly, I forgot about them because the food was such an explosion of tastes and sensory yumminess!! I was especially happy to see the original food car that started this restaurant and that it has a place of honor inside and still being used! If I lived here, I would be a regular.

Took a chance and didn't modify our order (because it sounded odd honestly - mint syrup in pancakes seemed a bit too far) and did not disappoint! So delicious! Always trust the chef. Looking forward to returning.
