If you are craving for good Indian food in the Eugene, OR area, Royal India Cuisine is worth a shot. We tried their Dal Makhani and Paneer Tikka Masala for main course and Kheer for dessert. Their portion size is really big, we ordered two entrées for two people and ended up taking half of it to-go. Not the most authentic Dal Makhani I would say, but it was delicious and comforting. Paneer Tikka masala was just a tiny bit spicy for medium but was really flavorful. Would definitely recommend this place.

I see they have a great over-all rating but for my first experience with this restaurant I was not impressed. I love Indian curry. I ordered through uber eats. My first complaint is that I ordered butter chicken and I got something else. It was a chicken dish in a green curry sauce. Not very curry though. Also I ordered Dahl Makhani. It was too sweet. Very little spice and not much curry.

Today I had so bad experience in here. Came from Medford to have dinner with my son. I brought my two friends with me saying good food in Euegene. When we got our biryani it was just chicken pieces and rice mix it. So bad horrible biryani ever I ate in my lifetime. I talked with owner and other guy but they don’t care at all. They trying to say we are wrong their food is good. I think it was made by last week I had pain in my abdomen. I was throwing up whole time. I felt bad when we shared our experience and owner even didnot listen us. Today is last day for this place . So so bad .. never ever try again this place .

Glad I took a chance on this place. Indian food can be a gamble sometimes of finding good places. Was here for work and craving Indian food, was definitely satisfied. Yes its a tad expensive but I took at least 2 more meals of leftovers so was worth it to me. I got the cauliflower Manchurian, paneer Tikka masala and garlic Naan. The cauliflower appetizer was very rich and tasty! However the consistency I wish was better, with the cauliflower deep fried and smothered in sauce it made the dish mushy. Wonder what deep fried hard with light sauce over it would taste like. Regardless, the flavor was there. I definitely liked the masala, I got it medium and I like that this place uses more sweet flavors, so with getting it medium I got a nice sweet and spicy combination. My waitress was nice and attentive. Overall I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Eugene! Thanks!

Grabbed dinner on our drive through the town on Highway 5. The menu has all standard North Indian staples and simple food like dal and nan was good. But the Bhindi Masala had too much salt but I didn’t have the courage to bring it up with the moody waitress that obviously was a student not paid enough to care. We left satisfied but that’s being more generous than the portions on the plate.

The restaurant was decent and their spice good. The food was lacking deep flavor and depth. The naan bread was good and drinks. Staff: 5/5 (personal attention to each customer and the order was done fast) Products:2/5 (okay products, with lots of options ) Health: 5/5 (they do have a few healthy options for sure and vegetarian and vegan ones too) Facility: 5/5 (looked clean and organized) Location:5/5 (easy to get to with parking in the front)

Let’s be honest - Oregon does not have the best Indian food in the world. As an Indian, you feel thrilled when you find genuinely good Indian food outside of Portland. When I lived in Eugene, Royal India was one of my go-tos and during the pandemic it was my comfort food for deliveries because it was real, genuine Indian food that tasted delicious. You wouldn’t expect such a good restaurant in Eugene Oregon but rest easy, it very much exists! This place is well worth the money because you’ll be able to get multiple meals out of a single order. Now that we’re out of peak pandemic, I recommend dining in because the portions you get dining in are much larger than delivery. :)

Food was delicious. There wasn't much going on when we went in so service was a little slow, but overall a good time.

PHENOMENAL!! I've never had Indian food in my life until this restaurant was recommended to me over a year ago by a family member. We are now normals and the food is always amazing. The waitresses are always so welcoming and helpful. The new waitress we had last night, Kristina, is so sweet and attentive. Dining there feels like home. We will definitely be going back and we recommended that everybody give then a try. Especially if this is your first time trying Indian food.

Pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! There is a certain level of taste I expect with Indian food, here in the US. Most of the time it hovers around disappointment with acceptance that it will never taste as good as back home. But Royal India stepped above that level. I got the Veg Kadai with paneer, Garlic Naan and brown rice. I asked for a spicy Veg Kadai and I did NOT get raw paprika added on top of the vegetable to make it spicy. I got a flavor of spicy meaning that the paprika was cooked into the curry. The garlic naan was thin, garlicky and well-made. The brown rice was pretty decent. I used Uber Eats to get the food, so can't comment on the location and service. But the food has definitely been better than a lot of Indian restaurants I've tried in medium-sized cities.

Not authentic! First time eating Indian food in the states but I’m disappointed by the taste and appearance. This restaurant is way too overpriced for such bad quality food. I ordered most of their top ranked items yet wasn’t satisfied with any. The cauliflower was too soft such that it reminded me of what my grandma would eat because she has bad teeth and not to mention it was covered in a thick mushy cornstarch which made it more disgusting. The best rated butter naan lacked the spice kick and seemed to me Americanized in its taste with cubed chicken that seemed like it was from a can. Generally speaking, it seemed like the food was pre-made and reheated. This is such unauthentic Indian food!! Do not recommend to people who are looking for authentic Indian food!

This is the best Indian food my husband and I have ever had. The prices are really good and the portions are perfect. All the staff were super kind and professional. We don’t live in Eugene, but we’re absolutely coming back just for this restaurant.

A delightful Indian restaurant. I have been going to this restaurant for several years now, and the experience has always been pleasant, either with the buffet or individual entrées. This is not "authentic" Indian cuisine, but that is to be expected. This is located in Oregon. But high quality food with a decent spice!

Great food and service. Sometimes the servers seem a bit overwhelmed but they still deliver. The last couple times our naan came out burnt but it all still tasted great. It's definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Eugene so far.

Good food, great service. I'd been ordering take-out but this time was sit-down. And it didn't disappoint. I had the Aloo Gobi with garlic nan and it was, probably, the best I've had -- not heavy on the sauce, delicate and spicy. And I'm picky about my Indian food.

Love the food here but the service is pretty hit or miss. We had a group of five once and wanted the bill split and the server either didn’t know how or didn’t want to as there was a bit of complaining. Sometimes we go and we are just checked in on maybe one time other than ordering and checks. Otherwise, love the food. Wish I could go for lunch every day as they have these cool metal trays with different types of curries and rice. Delicious! Man I miss buffets though.

Extremely kind and attentive staff with delicious food and drinks! The booths are comfy and the lighting very pleasant. Generally not busy due, I think, to the location. Expensive, but very appropriately, especially considering the serving sizes.

One of the best tandoori lamb and goat biryani dishes ever. The food here is absolutely fantastic. Everything we ordered was delicious: cauliflower manchurian, naan, korma, and shashito. Service was not very attentive.

Great tasting food. Loved the Malai kofta and kadhai paneer. You get amazing flavors. Paneer Tikka was flavorful with great char but paneer can be made softer. Chaat was good spicy and tea was good. I loved the roti which was very soft and buttery. Even the naan was with perfect crunch and not over or under. I can see this place a permanent fixture whenever we cross Eugene

We reached here at 9:05 pm one night as we were driving into town from Portland. Although their website said they close at 9:30pm, we were told that seating is stopped at 9pm. I don't understand the point of that but nevertheless, we showed up for lunch the next day. We ordered a kadhai chicken and a chana masala with butter naan. The naans were just perfect. The kadhai chicken might have been one of the best we have had in the US. The chicken was perfectly cooked. The chana masala was great too and when ordered mild, just the right spice level for my child. I wanted to come back for more but couldn't. Hopefully again soon!

Found Royal India while looking around Valley River for a place to have dinner. Nice surprise! Great atmosphere: calm, relaxed and secluded feeling. Higher end but good value. Excellent service (Emma). Vegan and vegetarian options. Food was tasty and not too spicy. All around, very pleasant. We’ll be back!

Pleasantly surprised to see both - good food and great service at the same time at an Indian restaurant in US. Friendly staff, made us feel very welcomed and did not rush us out. As for the food, we went with the Saag Paneer, Amritsari Fish (I am not a huge fan of deep fried fish, but the batter they use is actually very different, it's more like the Pakoda batter, which made it very flavorful) and Garlic naans(yum!). We went with a medium spice level, but would definitely take it up a notch if I'm here again!

Great place for authentic Indian food. All items we ordered are perfectly made and tastes yummy. Staff are so kind, greeting everyone. Especially two ladies waitress are working super hard. They love their job. Whole entire experience was great. Food taste + amazing staff + nice ambience == great restaurant/business.

It was on the way an Indian restaurant from redwood to seattle. Turned out to be a great choice. Service and staff : 5/5 Food quality and freshness : 5/5 Taste : almost 5/5 We tried yellow dal tadka, tandoori roti, malai kofta. All were outstanding and taste so fresh and authentic. Even the rice it comes with has too good smell and taste. Must try.

Great spot for Indian food. Had the garlic naan, Tika masala and mango lassi. Everything tasted great. My only complaint is I got a medium on spice level and it wasn't spicy at all. If you like spice get it hot. Service was great, place was clean and food came out quickly. Highly recommend.

We ordered poori chhole and chicken tikka masala with chai and samosa. Nice ambience clean restaurant clean restaurant. Polite staff. Chai was not great and samosa was average but chole poori and chicken tikka masala were great. For desert we had mango desert which was awesome too.

I would say one of the best indian Dine area in Eugene. Staff are excellent, well knowledged, patient, friendly and as well customized spicy levels as per our indian taste buds. Chef here is excellent at what he does. All the items tasted excellent. Specifically Garlic chilli Naan we ordered is cooked to perfection. The Naans are smooth and soft even after sometime which is unlike other places we generally visit. We stay far off from Eugene else would love to visit quite often. Will have this as one of our favorite spots to dine in if it is on our way of travel.
