Impeccable Indian food, wonderful family owned staff, and great prices. Best Indian food in Eugene and Springfield Oregon.

Delicious! The wife and I were craving some good Indian food with some specialty Naan on the side. We were definitely pleased with our choice! Newly opened, and they seem to be doing great! Clean kitchen which is right behind the counter. Friendly and well spoken staff. We got a regular and garlic naan (which was my personal favorite), some samosas, curry chicken, and the. We paid 40$ out the door so not a bad price. Fast and easy service makes this a great place for lunch!

Was $50 for two Thali plates. Very overpriced. Food is very low quality and bland, unlike any other indian food ive had. The portions are very small, with just 2 measly pieces of chicken in my dish, and two pieces of Paneer in my partners dish. I would stay far away from this restaurant.

The food is fabulous. I'm a bit sad they moved a few years ago and that their service is limited to take-out and dine-outside, but the staff is friendly and everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared!

We've enjoyed working with Taste of India, Paul and his wife and their wonderful children. They always fed us and the food inspired us as we created various photos that are logo and a few websites. Turns out they have the same POS system that we partnered with nationally... they definitely have a taste for quality in food and operations and of course making sure pricing is adfordable for their clients. Definitely forward thinking, intelligent, gifted, leaderlike, and we are excited to see generations come from this wonderful family. They decided a simple website with just the menu would be much more serving for their clientele and therefore also cost effective and really a great idea to keep it simple because there's lots of other avenues to show pictures and videos and of course reviews with all the apps that we have today and Google.

This is a solid spot for Indian food with very welcoming and friendly folks (family?) running the show. It seems like they do mostly takeout orders, but they also have a shaded patio for dining in. The menu is thorough with lots of good looking curries and naans. The shrimp mushroom had excellent flavor and texture, and tons of chunky mushrooms. Nothing but praise for the saag paneer and lamb curry the other folks I was dining with ordered. Medium is a subtle but enjoyable amount of heat coming from someone with a pretty high spice tolerance. The garlic naan had strong flavor and was very tasty/complimentary to all the curries. Taste of India is an excellent, low-key spot!

Step aside, Seven Wonders of the World, for there exists an eighth wonder – and it's The Taste of India. On the spice meter, where most places hover around a humble five, The Taste of India is a blazing fifty! It's whispered in culinary circles that if Michelin stars went up to a million, this place would be their first recipient. I've heard that on days when Gordon Ramsay is feeling a tad down, he visits just to remind himself of what true culinary artistry tastes like.In a world where choices are between eternal joy and a plate of their chicken tiki masala, go ahead and bring me the masala! The taste of India is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Our first experience of the food was so good we ordered again later the same week. My partner and I moved to Eugene from the east coast and have been searching for some good Indian food. Safe to say we’ve found our spot. The owner is friendly, generous and welcoming, they made fresh papadum for us so it was ready when we came to pick it up. The food was yummy and warm, perfect for a night in. Great portions, great food, great service. 10/10!!

Ordered goat curry and butter chicken. Told them to make it as hot as possible and they didn’t disappoint. Very spicy and delicious! Garlic naan also really good. Totally recommend!

Decent food, a bit expensive, and not great seating. You used to be able to sit inside but it is now a storage area for containers. Outside you are attacked by bees!! The chicken tikki masala is good. The naan wasn’t that tasty, more just tasted like burnt

The people here are very friendly. For Indians, having tasted all the items in their home country, it is not up to the mark. I tried vegetable biriyani and chicken tikka masala. The flavors are not so attractive. But not bad, hence the average rating.

This is the BEST INDIAN FOOD IN EUGENE. The owner/chef is truly one of the best. His family works the counter and he makes everything with care and concern. I have truly enjoyed every item from their menu.

Very yummy food. Everything we ate we liked. The seating area is outside only. A little too cool at the time we went.

Visited on recommendations from locals. Family owned and operated. Fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Call your order in ahead or you will be waiting for quite sometime. Take out or delivery only here.

The dish that I ordered , was just a bunch of low quality basmati rice with a tomato sauce and a few pieces of protein. Nothing special, thought this was the best Indian in Eugene , after trying it , don’t think so. 16 dollars I payed for something that probably cost to make less than 4 bucks.

This is the most authentic desi experience you will have in Eugene! The rest of the Indian restaurants around are mediocre compared to this because there is a lack of homestyle authenticity! The family cooks the food themselves and you can taste the love. Like i said closest thing to home you will find!

Ordered: paneer Nan, aloo Nan, Mattar palak, chana sag. The main dishes were decent but probably wouldnt be in my top 5 choices of indian restaurants. Both Nan orders however were a $6.99 disappointment. It was probably the smallest portion of Nan I've ever had at any Indian restaurant. There is no close second to how small the portions were for the price point. This was the second time I have tried this restraunt and I remember them skimping out on the portions for a different item. There is practically no dining in options at this location.

Absolutely amazing everytime. Never disappointed best Indian food in town. Family owned, and their Lamb Biryiani is magnificent especially the spicy variation. And their Mango Lassis. Salute!

Incredible food! Our favorite place in town. Lovely family that runs the business. They mixed up our order once and they went above and beyond to make it right. I only wish they were open early so I could eat here more often!

Coconut base curry is delicious. The lamb is too dry though. Chickens and shrimps might be juicer.

Really rude staff! Really loud music. Google maps say dine in but the staff said only takeout. Some of the so called vegetarian dishes were cooked in same oil that meat was cooked in. Would definitely not recommend!

Nice meal. Food served quickly and hot. They turned on the outdoor lights so we could eat on the patio. Kind of expensive for a meal for two,

The malai kofta was good, but only had 3 of the kofta, so that felt like a rip off to pay $15 for mostly liquid. The palak matar was definitely amazing. The paneer naan was also great. And of course, mango lassis are always amazing. I will be returning to try more things in the future!

An unassuming restaurant. But boy, the best tasting daal I’ve ever had in the us. Daal Makhni in the us is typically laden in fatty oil/butter. But this place has Daal that took me back to the taste of Daal in dhabas in India. I’m from Dallas and I haven’t tasted anything this good. Very authentic place if you’re looking for Punjabi food. Such a hard working family. If you’re in Eugene, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.

OMG…my biggest regret to try this restaurant’s on the way to Eugene…I did not had option to give 0 star so giving one. Samosa , paneer pakora was refried in bad/old oil. Plus the Indian tea was a disaster too. And I cannot believe they charged $ 23 for this kind of food.

I’ve never been dissatisfied with this place. You can tell the Saag is fresh and the spices just right. Their naans and kulchas are crisp and chewy. They don’t use frozen vegetables that I have come across and their service is fast, friendly and fair. Edit: Found they use a frozen Chinese vegetable medley in their vegetarian dishes. Not fresh or appetizing sadly. Their sauces are so good, but this brings down the quality of the whole dish.

Didn't get exactly what I ordered, BUT, the flavor and spice was DELICIOUS. Tastes some l like some level of homemade, not just from a jar.

  • 2/5 Ed W. 3 years ago on Google
Owners were very friendly, but the food was horrible. Overcooked naan and pakora. Naan was thin. Nothing has flavor. The Tandoori Chicken was downright nasty. I wish I had something positive to say about the food, the owners were super friendly, but can't. :s There aren't a lot of Indian food places in Eugene which may explain the high ratings. Those of us from areas with more choice can tell the difference.
