Tonight was the first time we’ve gone out for a nice meal since the pandemic. Wow, what a treat. Not only did we feel like the restaurant took every precaution to keep their patrons as safe as possible, the food and service was amazing. I had an incredible halibut (the fish special), and my husband had a decadent seafood pasta dish. For dessert we shard the seasonal lemon dome, which looked and tasted like a masterpiece. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and we never felt rushed. I can’t wait to have another date night here. What a gem!

This is a Euro Lux experience and worth every dollar that it costs. It is amazing and privacy is paramount with the luxury of seclusion amid a decor of natural wood, classic framed wall art, outstanding music programing and an exceptional breakfast offering amid stained glass and a full espresso bar. There is outside seating for the discriminating outdoor naturalist. Good food, hand crafted coffee with music and a encouraging and comforting ambiance in the luxury of a no hassel and encouraging Business model makes for the authentic travel experience. Come to Eugene and experience the good life The Oregon Way.

Food and menu were great. Menu was short with great choices. Our cocktails were great. Two things that irked me that lost two stars. They auctioned off everything. Food and drinks. Even when our server brought our entrees. The second was it was our 5 year anniversary. The hostess offered us a happy anniversary and that was the end of it. No acknowledgment from our server. I think he even offered up dessert menus with a "what can I get ya". The devil is in the details... and for the 200$ for two... I expected more.

Unfortunately we just called and the person who answered said the restaurant is permanently closed as of today, Feb 13 due to staffing issues (they were supposed to permanently close as of Feb 28). So sad to hear after their long tenure in Eugene. I’ve generally had good experiences here over the years. The food was always really unique and flavorful.

We stayed at 3 different small inns in Eugene and I slept best at the Excelsior Inn. The bed and room (Puccini) were so comfortable. We loved the landscaping. The art on the hallway walls, much of which was for sale, was a nice touch. The coffee at breakfast was the best of our trip. Everything was impeccable. If you’re looking for European refinement, this is it.

Everything was very clean. Points for a shower head that was high enough to accommodate 6' tall people without having to bend down. Only downside for me was the size of the room, but they are dog friendly and we were sharing our room with 2 dogs.

Excelsior is one of the best restaurants in Eugene. The atmosphere, quality of food and kindness of the staff is outstanding! We have been going here for over a decade and always have an amazing experience. If you're in Eugene, you must eat here and stay in one of their beautiful room too.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The free breakfast is fantastic, especially the coffee. It's a full sit down breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, crispy potatoes or french toast or granola or eggs Benedict. This not like the free breakfast at chain hotels. This is real food, with service. Amazing! The dinners are also gourmet and quite varied. The wine and cocktail list is extensive and the desserts are scrumptious! The inn is behind the restaurant. It's well appointed. Each room is named after a famous composer and each one is different. They all have antiques. The Beethoven room was large and comfortable with a king size bed. The Strass room was small with a queen size bed which was hard and uncomfortable. But otherwise it worked for a one night stay. I highly recommend staying at the Excelsior. It's downtown and close to campus. They provide free parking at a structure nearby.

I will definitely visit again, and hopefully for longer. The staff is superb, boutique quality accomodations, location perfect for walking to eateries or just strolling around campus. The Inn's interior is full of beautiful art (much of it for sale!) And the whole place is like stepping back in time or to another country, in all good ways. Btw, parking is off-site, just a block away - I added 3 photos of the parking garage.

My parents had been nearby Ciao (same chef, sadly now closed) and raved about the food so I was very excited to go to dinner at Excelsior with my wife and parents. I'm sorry to say, but most of the food was under seasoned and bland. I had the crab and smoked mussel pasta, which had been sitting around for a while and was a bit congealed. It desparately needed acid, salt, anything! It just tasted like pasta and cream. The crab was shredded and I never saw or tasted a mussel. The fried onions on top were nice but they were the tastiest part. At restaurants, my family normally talks about how good the food is, but instead everyone just ate the food and talked about other things. You get a good amount of food but for the price (mid to high $30s per entree) it wasn't worth it. The other amazing reviews makes me feel a little cheated; maybe the Sunday night chefs aren't being held to the same standard as Friday or Saturday? The food honestly reminded me of a restaurant that use to great but now the chefs are relying on this reputation instead of ensuring that they are still turning out balanced, hot food. Also, I thought it was strange that of the entrees, all but one was seafood. Not bad or good; just an observation. The desserts, however, were a complete 180 from the food. Everything is homemade and had good flavor. It was nice to see some twists on classics and seasonal options as well. After my experience, I'd go back for a dessert and coffee but am not in any rush to try the food again until the kitchen gets back on track.

We stayed in the Bach jacuzzi suite for an out of town date night. The inn & room itself were beautiful. However - our stay was ruined by the loudness of the upstairs and next door neighbors. I understand this is an inn not a hotel,Β  however for the price of $300 per night you would think that there would be better insulation or sound proofing between the rooms. I slept with the fan on and ear plugs in and could still hear the television thru the wall late into the night and early the next morning. Our stay was neither romantic nor relaxing because of this. Our toilet also ran non stop, and the remote to the tv didn't work so we had to get up to change the volume or channel - neither which are big deals, but again it speaks towards the lack of relaxation, and for the price, I expect nearly no complaints. We won't return. Next time I will stay home where it's quiet, or stay in a chain hotel for half the price that has appropriate sound proofing between rooms to ensure guests have a relaxing stay.

Came to celebrate my husbands birthday and left absolutely happy! Our server, Orion, was not only professional, prompt, and knowledgeable but also VERY personable. This only added to our positive experience. When we first came into the restaurant, we were seated in a spot that was partially in a doorway which felt very odd and uncomfortable. Upon disclosing this to our server (Orion), he immediately allowed us to choose other seating in the area and was very understanding and accommodating. From the appetizers to the main dish, the food was absolutely fantastic! The suggested wine pairings were exceptional. The entire experience was very special which only left us wanting to come back. Thanks for a great evening!!

Amazing! Stayed in the Bach room for our 20th anniversary weekend get away only 20 minutes from home due to smoke and covid restrictions. Staff was very friendly, Molly helped us out with a reservation issue and made our stay even more than we expected. Loved walking the halls with all the local art to look at. Dinner was 15/10! The short ribs were huge and so tender. Everything was fresh and perfect. Max our waiter made the evening fun and light. Wish I got the name of the guy at the front desk when we checked in, he was awesome and very helpful too. Jetted tub was perfect for two lovebirds, bed was very cozy and the room was spotless. Thank you all so much!

Stayed at the hotel and enjoyed it very much. They had the BEST banana muffins in our room along with champagne and classical music. Friendly staff. Parking is a little strange, as you must park down the block. The restaurant is unfortunately closed but there is a wonderful sushi place next door. Overall good experience.

Lovely room, lovely staff, lovely restaurant. Perfect location for anyone visiting campus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay a few years ago, and I will always come back to stay here when I visit Eugene.
