One of the most beautiful places I've ever come across. If you have the chance to go walk through this garden while in bloom TAKE IT! I was astonished at the variety and reverence for the flowers and grounds. Such a special place.

LOVE the rose garden. It is very family friendly, alongside Willamette river and a beautiful place to see lots of roses and take pictures. ;Lately our trips have been for taking homecoming pictures. My daughter and nearly half the school go here for their pictures. It's very well maintained, who would't. My pictures speak for themselves.

One of the best rose gardens I've ever been to. The roses are fragrant and beautiful and the layout is awesome. Nice casual walk through the gardens without a lot of people...great for pictures. And to top it off.... it's free! If you're looking for a place to go....this is a place to put on your list to check out!

Beautiful rose garden along the Willamette River. You can walk there along the bike path or park and walk in.

The roses are beautiful this time of year. And if we walk toward the left about 500' you may find the spot where I took the pictures of these busy ducks.

This was a beautiful stop, we where nicely surprised with how many people where visiting so early in the morning. On the side of caution just make sure your car is locked as homeless sleeping under bench and another allowing dog to run around with no leash .

Oh, Owen Rose Garden, you bloomed your way into my heart and made me feel like a botanical connoisseur! Now, let's dive into this bloomin' awesome review. First off, let me just say that even though not all the roses were in season, it didn't dampen my spirits one bit. This garden was a sight to behold! It was like stepping into a fragrant wonderland where colors and scents danced together in perfect harmony. I found myself surrounded by nature's artwork, and oh boy, it was a feast for the eyes and nose! Now, here's where the comedic plot twist comes in. Picture this: I'm strolling through this serene garden, feeling all zen and at peace with the world when suddenly, out of nowhere, a heated bike argument breaks out! Yep, you heard it right. Apparently, those folks on their two-wheeled contraptions couldn't agree on whose turn it was to ring the bell. Talk about a thorny situation in a rose garden! But fear not, dear readers, for even amidst the bike-fueled drama, Owens Rose Garden remained a tranquil haven. The beauty of the flowers and the gentle rustling of leaves managed to calm my soul, despite the occasional bike-induced chaos. It was like Mother Nature herself was reminding me to stop and smell the roses, while also giving me a good laugh. So, if you're in need of some floral therapy and a sprinkle of unexpected amusement, Owens Rose Garden is the place to be. Just remember to keep an eye out for those drama-seeking bicyclists. Five stars? Absolutely! Owens Rose Garden, you've shown me that even in the midst of floral tranquility, life can throw in a dash of comedy. Keep blooming and keep the bike battles entertaining!

There were not many roses, but it was quiet and nice for walking. It was beautiful to see so many volunteers tending the roses.

There were so many different colors and varieties of roses it was unreal! Simply beautifully kept grounds, great accessible walkways, and even though we snagged the last parking spot available it did not feel crowded in the garden as walkways were wide and people kept their distance. I did notice some sketchily parked vans/vehicles, which I assume people were living in, sprinkled about the parking lot, which made the experience feel tarnished as the homeless population in this area can be a bit aggressive and dangerous. But overall it was an amazing place to visit and I would recommend! Just make sure to lock your vehicle and keep your kids close!

Plenty of varieties, and a nice layout. We had a pleasant stroll through the park. The roses were beautiful, and some of the ferns and grasses were gigantic

Went for Mother's day and it was so beautiful! A few roses are bloomed but many more to come. It's a lovely place. Ans I love the huge old cherry tree planted in 1847+

This is a beautiful rose garden! (At the right time of year.) The city needs a larger budget to care for it, but it’s a beautiful location. The homeless contingent that occupies the area at times can make you feel unsafe. But it’s worth the visit in July or August. Any other month would disappoint you.

Almost deserves a 5 star BUT the homeless people are heavy in the area. I would not say In the garden area but all over the streets near by. The cost is free and I did not have a trouble finding a parking spot. I would recommend a visiting if you enjoy a nice floral scent and a peaceful atmosphere.

Nice public rose garden along the Willamette River. Ample parking, picnic tables, and a public restroom.

Don't miss seeing the centennial tree, the oldest living cherry tree on the west coast. Owen Rose garden is the prettiest public park in Eugene Springfield second in over all quality to maybe two others depending on your preferences. They have gobs and gobs of well tended roses of hundreds of varieties. Hendricks Park has better exercise trails and big pretty trees, not quite so many roses.

Owen Botanical Garden is a jewel nestled in Eugene. The Owen Heritage Cherry Tree is spectacular when it is in full bloom. The variety of Roses is phenomenal, and you will be impressed by the sheer beauty of this special spot. The aromatherapy benefits while you walk the paths are a bonus. Dogs on leashes are welcome and please clean up after them. Kid-friendly outdoor space. This is a beautiful spot to have lunch and there are eating areas right next to the free parking lot. Perfect place to take wedding or prom photos.

Owen rose garden is a beautiful place to relax and walk through many different varieties of roses. It is very well maintained and wonderfully designed. It is a park with walking trails located on the Willamette river. There is no playground equipment but there is lots of room for kids to run. Public bathrooms, picnic tables and beautiful sitting spots with benches. Open until 11pm every night. Located in the heart of Eugene with a playground just up the street at Skinner Butte park, also on the river. If you enjoy nature but don't want to travel out of town this is the spot to go.

July 23, 2020. Beautiful grounds with gorgeous flowers. Smaller than I imagined. Very easy to see the entire garden in 20 minutes. Benches (both covered and uncovered) for meeting with friends and having a picnic. There is access to the riverwalk from this location. There is even a small path down to the river just across from the garden. Plan ahead cause the restrooms are quite gross.

Garden - 10/10, beautiful while in bloom, spacious lawn area for relaxing or picnicking with walking paths. The gazebo can be reserved/rented for special events Bathrooms - 0/10, do not recommend. Why are there no doors on the bathroom stalls??! Had to remove a star because who would want to use a public with literally no privacy. Overall a beautiful place to visit but make sure to empty your bladder ahead of time ☺️

Amazing care and cleanliness of this park. June is one of the best months to visit; almost all the garden is fully blooming and all the flowers are opened and vibrant. Great for photography sessions. There are benches located around the park, as well as restrooms. No fee to enter or park. Many picnic areas for group reunions, proposals, wedding pics, etc. The neighborhood around is ok, some of the streets are not the best; but the park itself is beautiful, clean, great condition and safe. We didn’t find any homeless people, but the area before getting there showed that there were some.

Beautiful and Serene, lots of variety of different colored roses to look at, open grassy areas and benches to rest and trellis of roses, covered area for venues, free to get into, free limited parking, paved & graveled walking paths, flush restrooms. Only reason I could not give all 5 stars was lack of some maintenance. No stall doors in the restrooms & several of the rose's had dead or dying blooms. But don't let those small issue's deter you! It is a very nice park and worth the visit if you never been there.

The Owen Rose garden was lovely what a treat. Uncle Jessie and Aunt Krissy took us in a walk through there today and it was very pleasant. A suggestion maybe some town people as volunteers should go in and weed as a group to help keep the weeds out and looking beautiful. Thanks for the Rose garden Eugene, Oregon loved it.

Beautiful! I was there the second week of July and there was still a ton of roses in bloom. I also loved that they provided the names of the roses. ❤️

  • 5/5 Oregon G. 2 years ago on Google
June was a great time of year to go there. Roses were still blooming. There is a bathroom close by and the rose garden is free to the public. Also it is home to the oldest cherry tree in Oregon, Owen Cherry Tree. It is believed this tree was planted in the mid 1800’s by Eugene Skinner, founder of the City of Eugene in 1853. The tree is within the boundaries of Skinner’s 1846 land claim.

👍👍 I like this little park in the middle of a really nice , and beautiful neighborhood in Eugene, Oregon. It's a really clean, park with a big green grassy hill to lay on and the kids and animals to roll down. It's got basketball court, walking trail around it. It's very well maintained. Very nice park...
