We're
locals
who
made
their
first
visit
here
along
with
some
out
of
town
family
members.
The
grandkid
loved
that
she
was
allowed
to
sit
inside
a
real
tiny
jet
airplane
and
a
couple
experimental
aircraft,
as
well
as
a
tail
hook
carrier
landing
game.
The
docents
were
all
pilots
with
thousands
of
hours
of
flying
experience,
including
a
gentleman
who
served
in
the
US
Air
Force
in
Korea
and
Vietnam
and
a
British
air
woman.
They
graciously
shared
their
time
and
experience,
helping
interpret
and
direct
attention
and
add
stories.
The
two
buildings
are
stuffed
with
as
many
exhibits
as
they
can
fit
in,
and
some
exhibits
are
yet
to
be
documented
and
interpreted...
at
least
a
dozen
aerial
photography
cameras
with
immense
lenses,
for
example.
The
big
heavyweight
craft
are
A-4
and
A-6
US
Navy
carrier
fighters,
accompanying
many
other
museum
scale
replicas
and
a
huge
array
of
scale
model
airplanes,
navigation
and
radio
equipment.
The
space
side
of
the
museum
does
not
have
much
in
the
way
of
actual
space
hardware,
but
does
have
a
lot
of
models.
There
is
one
piece
of
space
junk...
an
early
Gemini
service
module
gas
pressure
sphere
which
flew
in
space,
reentered,
and
washed
up
on
an
Oregon
beach
some
time
later.
Fortunately
I
live
close
by,
as
I
need
to
make
more
visits
back
here
to
truly
appreciate
and
explore
the
details
stuffed
into
crannies
that
there
was
not
time
for.
