This museum is the Schnitz! Loved looking at all of the different exhibits here. Some are more permanent and some rotate/travel. At the time of my visit, they had some great projects celebrating cultural diversity as well as a brilliant exhibit related to how the color of our skin shouldn’t define how people perceive/prejudge one another. I usually write goofy stuff in these reviews, but I don’t wanna be predictable. It’s a great museum, please support the arts so that artists can eat beans to make them farts.

We had a good day out with the family visiting Eugene, Oregon. We went to the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at The University of Oregon that had some great ancient Gandhara Buddhist art, some great old wood carvings of Avalokiteshvara, a samurai suit that looked like it would have fit my 12-year-old daughter, some Chinese emperor court costumes, ancient Chinese pottery and carved glassware, some Eastern Orthodox Russian Icons, ancient Greek Pottery and some other neat stuff. It is not easy seeing ancient Buddhist art in Oregon, but this museum was definitely worth seeing and even had some extras that were great!

A great museum to visit, and admission is free if you’re a student! There’s a lot of modern art exhibits as well as several different Asian Art exhibits. We had a fun time coming here and it’s diffidently worth at least checking out if you can.

A world class treasure in the heart of campus! Not to be missed! Unbelievable exhibits and collection, especially for a small town like ours. Don't forget to check out the sculptures in the courtyard, a wonderful place to enjoy lunch from one of the awesome food carts on Kincaid like Cart DeFrisco and Screamin' Jay's! While you're down there, check out the Museum of Natural History too. An awesome day in combination!

As beautiful as these pieces were I was unable to enjoy them. I felt uncomfortable the entire time not only as someone with anxiety but also as a woman of color. I had my ESA with me and the staff was holding her to a higher standard than the people walking in there. I also noticed that the other families in there were not being followed as I was being followed the entire time. The fact that I paid 5$ to see this exhibit and them following us around gave me more anxiety, I wasnt even able to enjoy it. Do not recommend for people of color or people with any kind of mental ailment. Very disrespectful in that regard. Maybe a class on ethics and professionalism to all for the staff would be useful.

Interesting eclectic collections mainly Asian art though there are some unexpected surprises thrown in such as two Monet’s hanging side by side and a Whistler hanging at the end of an undiscovered corridor. Friendly staff and $5 entry.

We visited this museum of arts and we were impressed with the exhibits, 1 - RALPH STEADMAN: A RETROSPECTIVE, 2 - CARRIE MAE WEEMS: THE USUAL SUSPECTS, 3-CLAIRE BURBRIDGE: PATHWAYS TO THE INVISIBLE, 4-KWANG YOUNG CHUN: AGGREGATIONS and 5-RESISTANCE AS POWER: A CURATORIAL RESPONSE TO "UNDER THE FEET OF JESUS Amazing place to visit. Various each of the exhibitions and I personally recommend. I granted 5 stars for the magnificent staff, exhibits, good taste, design and clean! My congratulations to the Jordan Schnitzer Museum! Give me a like if you enjoyed reading my comments!

They had a Ukrainian event and I was invited as a speaker. Amazing place with amazing people! Thank you for raising awareness about war in Ukraine. And for giving opportunity for people to learn more about Ukrainian culture and meet Ukrainians.

A beautiful museum - not big, but there is a lot of interesting expositions. I personally like some modern art sculptures and the Slavic orthodox icons. The inner space with a pool is also a must to visit place - charming during any season! The admission is affordable, and the minor under 18 could visit the place for free!

Beautiful art, weird ambience. Way too many students “working” to the point where a security student was always within 10-6 feet of us, staring at us. Just felt like we were being watched, not a comfortable environment to just enjoy art. Front desk person would not stop talking about Adventure time while we trying to find something in the gift shop, would just be nice to have quiet staff in an art museum

If you ever find yourself walking around the University of Oregon this is one of the best places to stop by and take a look at the wonders inside. The exhibits are always refreshing to see and never fail to surprise us. They are a constant breathe of fresh air and will no doubt breathe life back into and mundane day you may find yourself in. As always, the gift shop is spectacular here.

Beautiful art but extremely uncomfortable atmosphere. Security was following us around room to room, I could hear security guards whispering to the others our description. Not sure why we were being followed and profiled; this has never happened to us at any other art exhibit we've visited. However looking through the reviews, this seems to be a common theme at this art museum unfortunately. Probably won't be returning now.

This museum is a great place to visit for a surprisingly low price. Today i visited with my 11 year old and 21 year old children, and all three of us found the exhibits engaging. My 11 year old has visited multiple times since he was about 4, and has always been fascinated by everything. Definitely worth the visit for all ages, but not overwhelming for children, like larger art museums might be. Always highly recommended!

Well-curated exhibits and lovely pieces of artwork all around. Also, free for UO students which is great.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning. Very quiet not very many ppl there. Apparently the first Friday of every month is free so I'm guessing alot of ppl go that day. It was nice to have the exhibits to ourselves. Variety of art and cool gift shop for the very small size. It was nice to sit out on the courtyard to take a small breather and enjoy the cool cement benches. Since it's on campus of the university we also took a walk around and it was nice to see all the old brick buildings with architecture details such as faces etched into the buildings.

This Museum is breathtaking. I visited for the first time and was in awe. The customer service is the best. I was taken back by all the beautiful art.

Art was great, interactive display was not pleasant, the layout could be better. Just a sign outside that said, take a seat. When you enter there are benches, they were full. One "chair" close to the door, did not know if we should walk in take a chair in front of the benches or between or behind. We stepped in for just a moment and were not close to the wall, a patron was incessant we take the bench, all the other patrons looked over. Felt like we were intruding. The patron kept insisting we sit. We backed into the wall. The next thing I know in the dark with loud music a guard took my arm and said, you cant stand here. These are the speakers. We sat for a moment and left. I suggested as I left to place a sign out front of the the exhibition to make the best experience, put a sign that states, no standing against the wall, please take a seat. The guard stated no one reads.... My nondivergent self would have really appreciated the note and would have not needed to be touched by the guard in the dark. Notes on a stand might be read, if you try. Also maybe let people know about the short fence and alarm in case you are leaning in to see the art closer. Could not take my phone out to zoom in the see the intricate details as I was respecting the no photos signs.... Not all of us have been to fancy museums, some of us are from out of the country, from very small communities.

👍👍 Great local beer and food spot in Eugene. Enormous selection of beer with a large rotating tap selection. There are wine and cider items available, but Beer is the star of the show here.
