Amazing place to see amazing birds of prey! Some were very active when we visited. You may be able to watch a trainer feed or watch resident education raptors in action. Such great work this hospital and rehab does!

You know when you go to a zoo or something and you look into an enclosure and you can’t see an animal? Just a dark, depressing cage? Well, this place is not like that. Granted, it was a weekday, the weather was clear and cool, and there were no crowds. But this place is special. The birds are so healthy, so chill, and well cared for. You learn a lot , too. Not only do the displays have great info about the species, but there are separate signs that tell the story about the individual birds you are watching. And these birds watch you right back. No odd behaviors, no cowering in dark corners . Obviously this rescue and education center is doing many things right.

Lots of shade on hot days. Very well kept trails. Feels so good to walk around outside in the fresh air and see amazing raptors up close, that we may not otherwise get to experience. All of the animals were very comfortable in their environments and well taken care of. Fun for the whole family.

Great place! Great sanctuary for helping thrs birds. You get up close to these birds of prey that you normally don't see in the wild, at least up this close. We took out kids there and they loved it. Each of the exhibits has a story about the bird or birds that you are seeing in the cave in front of you. Highly recommend visiting!

This place is AMAZING! My daughter and I love raptors and had wanted to check this place out for awhile~we weren't disappointed! They give birds that can't be in the wild a 2nd chance at a wonderful life!! So many gorgeous raptors: owls, eagles, hawks. It was well worth the $10 entry and I would highly recommend anyone who loves raptors to go spend a few hours here. We even got to see the tiny Saw-whet owl have a feeding with one of the caretakers/handlers! Just an overall beautiful place and I will definitely be going again.

We had a great time learning about the Birds of Prey housed at the Cascades Raptor Center. Since they are unable to be reintroduced to their wild habits these birds spend their day being ambassadors to their species and teaching the public about the importance of protecting and interacting appropriately with the natural world. As you would expect, all the bird exhibits are outside so you'll want to plan your trip accordingly. In my opinion 2 hours was plenty of time to see everything. For a better experience consider checking out their website before you go!

Very educational center. Drive to get there is countryside beautiful. Once you arrive you can park at the top of the driveway, but be aware it's only enough room for one vehicle at a time. Bottom of the hill there is parking across the street. The birds are amazing. Each one has it's very own back story explaining how they became part of the center and why they are permanent residents. The stories are very fulfilling. We really enjoyed "Parker" and "Ra"! When you read their stories you'll know why. Great place for children and the staff are very genuinely nice.

Wow awesome place to see a great group of raptors. Each one has a good enclosure with a quick blurb about their history (along with the typical species information placard). Staff is friendly and informed. Worth the visit (can be a quick 45 min trip if you want, or extend it out for an enjoyable two hour visit).

Engaging Preserve - Worth the Trip The kids loved all the birds but the Bald Eagle and the Peregrine Falcon were they’re favorites. Small preserve but well maintained. Parking is very limited but you can park across the road near the hiking trail.

Awesome sanctuary for Raptors of all kinds , this place is a hidden gem tucked away near a popular hiking trail. The staff here were so friendly and knowledgeable. They all really know there stuff and you can see the love they have for these big birds! Cages were big and extremely well kept all the Raptors seemed to be extremely content with their living arrangements. I love that every cage has not only the info regarding each type of bird but the personal story behind how they came to be at the center. Staff loves for people to ask questions even had one big hawk out to teach the visitors about them. This place is a must see so stop by and said hello!

You get a map after you first buy tickets, and walk around see each kind of large bird. Kid friendly, and you get free water.

I went there i spent about two hours walking around and checking out the birds and learning a lot from the information panels. The staff are super friendly and can answer questions. it is really neat to see them training the birds! You never guess how big a Bald Eagle is until you see them up close. They are huge! It is a great way to spend some quality time with your family and friends. Super great for schools to take students to.

After the first visit, we went home and immediately bought a membership. The staff and volunteers are there because they are passionate about the residents and wild bird recovery. I have seen Injured birds arrive, and multiple staff and/or volunteers converged to quickly help. The residents get very large enclosures and great care. While it's a great experience to see them, the welfare and quality of life for these magnificent, fascinating creatures is priority number one.

Loved this place! We visited on a Saturday morning. No lines but parking lot was almost full when we arrived. No big crowds. We enjoyed the staff who were very friendly and welcoming. Great enclosures with access to see each bird. Each bird has a sign giving that bird’s history. Very enjoyable experience. The air was a fragrant forest. Nice and peaceful, quiet. Located in the forest. Highly recommend. Great for kids and adults alike. Cool gift shop.

Awesome day at the cascades raptor center, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hans (eagle owl) did a fantastic training session that we got to witness with the chance of taking some up close photos of him flying. Would definitely recommend going, good fun for all ages and just a short 10 minute drive from town.

The birds are beautiful and well cared for. Several took obvious delight in the presence of humans. The staff was friendly and I loved the personal stories of each bird. I took my young granddaughters and they loved it!

This was my first time visiting the Raptor Center, and I was very impressed with the whole experience. I love seeing the story's with each and every bird. It was heart warming to see the interaction with the trainers, and just how much you can learn by taking it all in. This place is absolutely amazing, and I love how they have different adoption packages so you can basically sponsor the birds Care. I truly hope that if you're thinking about visiting Cascades that you do go and take your whole family.

This is a really special place. 🦅🦉The birds are all very well-taken care of, their enclosures are spotless, and their stories, names, and species info are well-displayed and informative. The grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. We all loved it.

BEAUTIFUL. Expect a bit of a climb, but not too noticeable as you see all the gorgeous birds in their habits. Owls, Eagles, Hawks, turkey vultures.... up close & personal. All raptors are well taken care of and seem quite content.

A fantastic sanctuary for birds, we visited today and although it is small you can tell they truly care and take care of each of the birds. We got the chance to watch a training session and it was amazing to see the care each trainer takes with the birds.

I love the Raptor center but the new barriers put you so far from the cages. I'm not sure if they decided the birds wanted a bit more personal space or that their visitors couldn't keep their fingers away from the cages but it has greatly decreased the quality of the viewing 😞

Hey All, I really enjoy seeing animals that are well cared for during their second chance journey. My mother owns a dog rescue, so there’s a special place in my heart for rehabilitation centers as such. The birds were so cool to see, a lot of unique kinds and colors. Nature is magnificent in that way. But what’s even better is the personalities. Daily the trainers are going in the enclosures (not pens or cages, I got a bad look using pen). When the trainers go in, the birds light up. Their expectation of food causes them to almost wag like a dog. Something to behold as the trainers usually do a few commands and the birds are good listeners. It’s nice to see a place like this weather the pandemic. Go check them out if you can, great local attraction, and Spencer’s butte & ridgeline is right there as well. Great little spot.

Neat place I didn't know about until recently. Good outing for little ones, takes about an hour to see all the birds. Not much parking on site but there is just down the hill.

The birds of prey there were very engaging, and the panels shown next to the birds were helpful, as they gave info on the name of the bird, type of nest it builds, locations found, and more! The hawks, owls, and vultures there range from all sizes, big and small, and were very beautiful! There is a wide variety of birds to see and they are quite easy to view, as all the birds are in plain sight. This visit was totally worth the money, and admission is not very expensive. Great place to visit if you are looking for some educational fun with family, friends, or simply by yourself! I had a great time here and I am sure many others will too!

Friendly staff, raptors all seem happy and healthy (and well fed). Definitely worth the drive from Portland to see them all.

We started out at the visitors center and were given a map of the center. The tickets are $10 each. It was cold but the birds were out where we could see them and they were magnificent. It's well worth going.

Amazing experience learning about and visiting a variety of birds most people wouldn't have the opportunity to interact with. Staff were very helpful answering questions. The birds get super excited and animated when trainers visit with treats. Great visit.

I take the small children I nanny for here. They have a really good time! Seeing the different birds is really awesome and a great learning opportunity. I took away a star because I feel judged when I use my snap card to get free admission, and then I get pressured into buying things because I'm there for free. I know that money goes to rehabbing the birds, and I do buy things when I can. We're just there too often for me to buy things every time
