A lady friend wanted to know if I would like to go to the museum.? Sure. I didn't even know this was there or existed. There was real stage coaches, model " T's", pictures of Eugene in the late 1800`s. It was very interesting, I think admission $5.00, veterans free. Brought back many memories

Free parking. Cost is 5 bucks unless you are a 60 plus senior. Two levels inside of exhibits that are pictorial and material both. Exhibits for this season appear to be on the Oregon Country Fair history, early Eugene history, and an educational exhibit on what constitutes "kitsch" from an historical perspective. An interesting part of Eugene history is we had one of the first examples of the "TV Dinner" being marketed, made and distributed here a short time before Swanson took it up, and examples of their packaging were on display. There are also interactive exhibits on display that museum goers can manipulate or pose nearby, and yes, cameras are ok. No flash though!

When you walk in and go to the right corner, there's a tiny section over there about the Native Americans who lived here before Westerners committed biopiracy and genocide. The first of about 10 informational photos says that the museum is trying to be more inclusive and aware of its history, but has all the photos of the Native Americans up a staircase you cant even access. And, it looks like most, if not all, of the photos were taken without this person's consent. It's very obvious that this section did not take any direction from a Native person, or do any research into considerations to be taken. How about mention of community efforts to reconstruct the Kalapuya dictionary? How about teaching about the agriculture they did here before colonization? How about teaching about Lane County's roles in the atrocities of residential schools? How about not putting the ONLY photos and mention of native people up in a corner you can't even access? How about showing examples of traditional dances done by Kalapuya and neighboring tribes? So f*ckin, daft, y'all. Do better. I understand that its a small museum, but you could at LEAST make the stairs available to view what you do have, even though its almost comical how obvious it is that these did not want their picture taken, or didn't know, like the blind woman standing outside her house- probably not knowing who tf was there or why. The Race for Change exhibit is phenomenal and takes up a very decent amount of space, that was awesome. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of one is because of the effort put into the Race for Change exhibit, and the fiery and undeniable acknowledgments of KKK presence here in Eugene- which NEEDS to be taught about if our community wants to be a safe space.

Very pleasant staff with some cool artifacts like the old cars and trucks. I just wish that there was more to the museum. There is a lot of history in Lane County and it didn't seem represented in such a small space. Little gift shop with local history books.

The people that take care and run this Museum , are wonderful! They have a lot of intresting and historic artifacts. I really appreciate how clean and well kept the building was and how well they kept the artifacts on display. Ultimately they do need more volunteers and or more people with experience with historic artifacts! I recommend if anyone that even a little intrested in see how a museum work or even just intrested in helping preserving our local history call them, they would really appreciate it.

Not a big museum whatsoever, but well-curated and interesting. Can improve with more tactile, experiential exhibits

We were there on a busy fair day. The docent still took the time to visit with my husband and myself. We felt very appreciated.

Nice museum with lots of Oregon Trail info. Free but leave a donation so places like this can stay open.
