Waited 9 and a half hours to get in to be in a room for 30 seconds and told to go home even though I had a severe full body rash and heart arrhythmia. They didn’t even give me a Benadryl or hook up an IV even though I was severely dehydrated. I also Watched and 80 year old + woman with Covid leave after waiting for nearly 12 hours after they were unable to get her in. They are so severely understaffed that the chances of being seen at all are close to none unless you are brought in by ambulance.

My father had been brought in by ambulance due to him being so dizzy he couldn't stand and was violently vomiting. They stuck him in the waiting room for 5 hours. He was violently vomiting every 20 minutes. The male nurse that was in the waiting room should not be a nurse, he was truly one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met. When he was asked to do anything that involved him putting down his phone, he was angry. I asked if he could help my dad to the restroom, but to be careful not to move the wheelchair fast because of the dizziness. He acted as though it was the biggest inconvenience on earth, and rolled my father to the restroom so fast he could not get out of the chair. He also used his bare hands to wipe away my dad's blood when he checked his blood sugar. Disgusting and unsanitary. After 5 hours I put him back in the car and took him to Mckenzie Willamette where they were very concerned, got him in immediately, and was given an IV. I am not surprised a few people people have died in this waiting room.

Brought my 3 year old in after a seizure from high fever the night before and a cold he can't kick (urgent care was to scared to touch him lol) the dr came in stood in the corner, never examined or checked my son out 1x! Tried to scare me about his seizures., which thankfully I know about because his neurologist was great at explaining it all. The dr never signed the prescription, the nurses don't even bother the Dr's like they ate terrified of them. Never had a good experience here. We left after 4 hours. 1 hour waiting for a signed prescription which I never got because my son had enough at that point

Worst hospital ever!!! If I could’ve given them a 0 I would have. I walked out after an hour and half in their waiting room in pain watching others who came in after me go in for treatment. They didn’t think that my pain was as bad as others so they kept putting me at the end of the line. Which is what they specifically told me after finally asking I didn’t scream and cry when I walked in but I walked out crying after their callous treatment and was seen somewhere else 30 minutes later

Spent 3.5 hours here last night with my partner who had their vitals checked in the waiting room twice but received no medical care beyond that. One woman who was there when we arrived said she had been waiting for 8 hours. Wish I had checked the reviews here before we went. We ended up leaving because for those 3.5 hours we were there, they took back 2 patients total from the 10-12 patients who were checked in and waiting. (Yes, that poor woman who had been there through an entire shift was one of them, thankfully)

Great staff, awesome security guys. Everyone does their absolute best here. Most of these one star reviews are because of waiting times in the emergency room. Unfortunately lots of hospitals are extremely understaffed right now. It is not the hospitals fault. Let me repeat that... It Is Not The Hospitals Fault. I appreciate everything these guys do. Something everyone should know is that when you're in the waiting room and they say you have a certain amount of people ahead of you, THAT CAN CHANGE. Especially if an ambulance brings someone who is dying in. There's so much people don't see that goes on over there. So many ambulances coming in every night.

I took my young teenaged daughter to this ER in mid April. She was experiencing a severe mental health crisis. 9 hours after we arrived, they decided they would "admit" her. I imagined a room in the pediatric ward. They put her in an ER room which can only be described as a dark cell. For 7 days. Any parent would be unsettled. I was calm and measured, but had a few questions. The doctor that evening was so unbelievably unprofessional, I'm still in shock. They didn't want to answer very simple questions. For the duration of her stay. The nursing staff was kind but unable to meet basic needs like showers and changes of clothing.

Went into ER the lobby was nearly full at noon on a Wednesday. Was triaged but then waited 9 hours in the waiting room. I couldn't do it anymore and left for McKenzie. It made my issue worse, I kept checking with the staff. The staff was nice but all seemed stressed and overworked. I cannot imagine how much busier this place will get once the downtown location closes. The whole time I was there they had 2-3 security guards with tazers standing in just that tiny area. They must have had issues before as I saw at 3 people that came in before me, yell and leave. It's not a problem with staff. I think this company is very poorly managed, from the top to middle management. They seem to keep cutting and cutting. All the locations (urgent care) say there understaffed, I don't think people wanna work there based on people I know and Glassdoor reviews. Stop blaming COVID, Do better CEO Liz Dunn. Do better. Or better yet leave and let someone else try.

The staff here are wonderful but the ADMINISTRATION of this hospital obviously are busy NOT doing their jobs. I spent HOURS waiting for my infant with over 102 degree temperature to be seen instead we left because in the over 3 hours i waited i had no way of knowing if his temperature was spiking again. on top of that he needed another dose of tylenol to try and control the fever which had gotten over 103 of which i had none. What higher up made it policy that if you go outside you will be skipped if called? Your waiting room is full, i have a crying infant and now have to worry i might be skipped if i take him outside? WHERE ARE YOUR VENDING MACHINES? Do you expect the community to come in to the emergency room prepared with waters, their meds eyc?Its called an emergency room for a reason and the fact that this place is so poorly mismanaged that you are relying on your understaffed team to go fetch every single person water. Again this is is not the fault of the staff, these heroes look like theyve been thrown to the wolves. As a breastfeeding momma with a sick infant in the over 3 hours I waited and was not seen I got dehydrated and my infant was screaming even more cause i had no milk. The healthcare heroes that work in the er were amazing. But mismanagment and bad policies made me wall out if this place after over 3 hours of waiting with a crying infant

My son was in a car wreck and in pain, glass in his face, eye, and his elbow gaping open. 🤬 this is horrible. I told the nurse up front he is in a lot of pain. “Sorry there are more people ahead of you.” Is this what you tell someone who was in a car accident and arrived by ambulance to your facility? We had to go out to the car and get ibuprohen for him. He sat for 9 hours before being seen. I will definetly go to McKenzie Willamette next time where we will be seen within 30 minutes. Administration needs to do something about this.

State/Investments needs to allocate funding for better emergency surgeries transfer transportations too and from transfers of anything 123 miles or more due to the fact most serious post surgeries order recovery care with "sitting in vehicles for long periods of time" at the top of the list of what not to do to avoid further complications that could be serious or life threatening re-injuries. I highly recommend for emergency MEDAVAC Helo Transportation provided to Emergency Surgeries that have post surgery recovery mandates that restricts the patients from sitting in a vehicle for long periods of time[1⅔ or more hour(s)] to the site or closet landing pad from which the transfer was made.

My 14 month old son decided to rip his g-tube out and had a 4 hour window till the site would close, risks of infection and to go through anesthesia and surgery if the procedure wasn’t done as soon as possible, the staff in the er was extremely passive agressive and rude as soon as we showed up, when we were sent back for a consultation the rn didn’t even look at my sons site to make sure everything was okay, they told us we would have to wait for 30+ patients before we could even get seen, I explained the procedure only takes a minute or two to be done and the rn stated that it wasn’t true, which I seemed to have more information then the nurse because that is very true, I talked to the on call nurse at my pediatrics and she was very worried we wouldn’t be getting help in the time my son needed and tried to referral so my son could be a priority after two more hours of waiting we decided to go to McKenzie willamette and as soon as we told them what my sons diagnosis was they rushed us in to help my son so he wouldn’t have to go through surgery again everyone there at McKenzie took us seriously and understood the risks for my son, very upset with riverbends “help” I understand that other ppl needed care as well and I try to be sympathetic but the staff was extremely rude for no reason at all and gave us absolutely no reassurance

Worst care I have ever received in my life. Don’t ever go here, unless you want to die from neglect. I have pneumonia and NO ONE helped me. When we complained they offered to check my vitals for the 5th time. As if that would make a difference. After 5 hours we decided to leave an go to a real hospital. I could have died. You should all be ashamed

Currently waiting to be seen. 4 hours waiting with the same group of people. I watched several people who were very sick get up and leave because they were waiting for 3 hours +. Went in due to a severe back injury. Couldn't sit or stand or hardly walk. 4+ hours of excruciating pain. After a 7 hour wait. I was finally seen. They were extremely polite, efficient and caring. I just wish that the way the ran that front desk was the same. I saw so many people walk up and check out without being seen due to being there as long as I was. I literally was about to do the same but they called my name. Again be very aware that your gonna be waiting for a hot minute but when you get seen it will be great treatment

Over 7 hours and still haven't been seen for chest pains and kidney infection. I have told 3 separate phlebotomists and 2 other clinical staff to also test me for thyroid hormone problems considering the vast range of my other acute issues. Here's hoping that management can figure out how to get this ER and themselves in a more efficient order.

I hated waiting with my wife more than eight hours but must confess the ER did everything right. Early test were done and showed wife condition was not that life threatening. That was good news but that ment all ambulances arrivals and people with greater need went a head of my wife. The lady doing vitals was a great help when I mention my wife diabetes and she was feeling dehydrated with low blood sugar. She tested her and got doctors okay to give her apple juice and cheese. This women was amazing at her job at how well she dealt with little kids to seniors. The doctor that saw my wife was amazing and treatment in the ER helped and her advise was spot on. Thank you everyone in ER for wonderful care of my wife.

Have been waiting in the ER with my pregnant fiancé for 7 hrs who has had bad lower stomach cramps and intense vomiting. While there are screaming people waiting also in the lobby. And she is dehydrated but they did not allow her to have any water whatsoever? River Bend ER is by far the worst possible place to go I suggest McKenzie Willamette. Please do not go here.

I went in because I was feeling severely sick during my pregnancy, I was around 18 weeks pregnant. When I went in I told them upfront I had covid and flu symptoms, they ran tests on me but NOT for covid or the flu. After 4 hours of waiting and feeling sicker and sicker (I couldn't even walk) they finally said “you have flu symptoms so we are going to run a covid and flu test on you” I literally came in saying that and they didn’t bother to test me then?! They also lost my urine sample. I was trying to watch my fever because it’s not healthy to let yourself have a fever when you are pregnant. I had to ASK to get my temperature checked and when they did they were RUDE. They did not give me Tylenol to reduce my fever or anything to help while we waited. We were finally seen by a doctor after over 9 hours of waiting. Turned out I did have COVID. The doctor talked to me for a few minutes and gave me Tylenol then said to go home. The discharge papers took so long we just walked out, they ended up giving them to us at the front before we left but this makes sense as to why there weren’t any rooms available. They have people just sitting around in a room waiting to leave when sick patients need those rooms. Not to mention the nurses and doctors looked like they were just sitting around most of the time eating snacks and playing on their phones. At the end of it they did end up doing an ultrasound and x-rays on me and everything came back good. I really felt like the whole time they didn’t take me seriously when I was saying how much pain I was in.

Absolutely the worst ER on the planet. Was not very busy and waited hours to find out about a ekg, they would not give me the ekg when I asked due to" hospital policy ". I would take a 3rd world healthcare system over our American base level hospital. I hope this hospital gets sued to closure. Hospital does not care a single bit about serving client , once they get your insurance they make you wait till you are ready to leave and will bill you after wasting multiple hours and not addressing your medical concern.

Took my Mom in for possibly having a stroke. We sat for 6 hours. Watched an elderly man who visibly had a stroke while waiting and nurse told him and his family there was nothing they could do for him. Absolutely horrible experience not for just for my mom but most everyone in there that night. Save yourself and possibly your family members and take them to McKenzie Willamette. I found it odd they had a sign in the waiting room that advised to “ACT FAST” if you have signs of a stroke.

Can’t speak for everyone else’s experience, but I can’t thank these kind folks enough for the care and concern they showed for my husband. First time he was transported by helicopter after suffering a stroke in Salem, where they were not equipped to treat him. Most recently, he was having worsening symptoms that we suspected could be a new stroke. They got him into a room in less than 5 minutes.

I was so worried to go here for a blood transfusion because of the reviews. But....I was so pleasantly surprised! Every single person was lovely, kind and helpful. I was seen much faster than I thought I would be. They all did great!!! So very appreciated.

I'm currently sitting outside of Riverbend Hospital in excruciating pain, waiting for my ride so I can go McKenzie Willamette's ER. I was sent here for a possible pendicitis, I'm doubled over in pain, and I've been here for 5 1/2 hours with no hope to actually see a doctor. 3 1/2 hours into my wait they told me I had 5 people ahead of me. Then after 5 1/2 hours I was told there were 6 people ahead of me!!!! Do yourself a favor and don't bother trying to be seen here. It's a waste of time since all they do is take your vitals, get a urine sample, draw your blood, and then make you wait, without eating or drinking anything, for SO many hours until you have no choice but to leave without being seen. This is now the second time I've been through this and I won't be back. What is the point of getting tests done if your not going to be seen by a doctor?? They should just advertise themselves as a lab and not an ER.
