Monroe Park

Tourist attraction Park

👍👍 I like this little park in the middle of a really nice , and beautiful neighborhood in Eugene, Oregon. It's a really clean, park with a big green grassy hill to lay on and the kids and animals to roll down. It's got basketball court, walking trail around it. It's very well maintained. Very nice park... People often mention park, kids, nice, neighborhood, Eugene, people, Park, Monroe,

Very nice park to check out if you are one that likes to go to parks. I highly recommend Monroe Park. The neighborhood around the park is wonderful to walk around as well. Full of such lovely older beautiful houses.

Nice park and lots of shade. Free lunch for the kiddos during the summer. There are swings, slides, sandpit, basket ball hoops and a strange concrete area that appears to have been a foutian at one point. History says this whole park used to be an elementary school back in the 60s. There Is tons Of Space For frisbee or kites. Low key and not hipster like Amazon Park. Love this place.

It's a good, cute park but I would be reluctant to bring my children here. The city has tried hard to clean it up but there are some unsavory characters that hang out in the park. I am not afraid of unhoused people just because they are unhoused but on this day they were openly shooting up in the park in broad daylight with no discretion. I wasn't surprised that there were only adults in the park.

I feel like this park has got a lot of potential my kids loves to go there the diversity in families is very comforting there is a merry-go-round that is functional and easy to push the shade trees are amazing the sandbox is big enough to have fun in I do find that some people are comfortable enough to let their kids play while the adults socialize it's kind of like a free spirit Park every once in awhile there will be a homeless person hanging out to the side or sleeping but I've never had any problems feeling unsafe the Porta-Potty is always trashed though wish they could make a porta potty more geared towards children that would be more sanitary I brought my grill one time and it was a hit making hot dogs for everyone at the park really was just there for me and the kids but it was nice to know that the neighborhood was friendly and sociable and not scary

Too many homeless junkies. Dude was smoking something on tinfoil behind an umbrella. Twenty people scattered around in huddled groups. I was clearly the only one walking a dog. Never again.

One of my favorite parks in town. You’ll find all kinds of people here, and they also have a bathroom. I come here quite often actually. ☺️

Was a cool spot till they put up the police tower. Those towers should be illegal. Talk about lack of privacy. The law doesn't need to see and listen to everyone n everything at all times. Cops need to be like firemen when needed call em don't need em going around looking for trouble

I like bringing my toddler here but avoid the sandbox because there's been abandoned buried toys and other miscellaneous items. Might be nice for some older kids to have garden gloves and do some treasure hunting, but for now we enjoy the swings and grassy areas: kids love rolling down the hills.

Wonderful park and well kept up by the neighborhood. It has a great division from sidewalk to road by foliage. Large grassy area and fun little hill. The only reason I give 3 stars is because it's also frequented by folks who are unhoused. It's rarely an issue but as someone with young, oblivious children, it's something I feel the need to keep tabs on (more so than strangers in general), because mental health challenges and/or substance use can lead to more volatile and unpredictable situations. That being said we've never had a truly negative experience as most folks frequenting the park are friendly and considerate. Definitely recommend!

Monroe Park is a fairly small park as far as Eugene parks generally go. smaller but not too many. It takes up one square block in the middle of the neighborhood. It is equipped with a field large enough for say an informal soccer game, throwing a Frisbee, or even fly a kite or two. There's a small grass covered hill, a small playground, and a couple basketball hoops. There are 3 or 4 picnic tables. As well as a couple of the nicer park restrooms that Eugene has to offer. Two unisex restrooms with doors that can be locked. A rarity in Eugene parks. Most park restrooms in the area are setup for multiple people to use at the same time, most with only a divider without stall doors. The Monroe park bathrooms also boast working (though only cold water and a pump button) sinks and (again only cold air) air hand dryers. Surrounding the entire park is a blacktop footpath with occasional benches along it. For being a relatively small Eugene park, it certainly is a pretty nice one.

Great park with big grassy areas, sand box, play equipment, restrooms, benches and smooth skating surfaces. Great local park. I do my plastic take back there and it often has family events.

I fly my drones there often. The police security camera has cut down the number of freaks that show up and hang out.

Great open space for the whole community. Eugene's focus on open spaces that enhance our community, and add to the quality of life.

Monroe Park is a great Park during the day however when you wake up in the middle of the night and you find out that your husband is located at Monroe park at 2:00 in the morning probably not the best place that you would want to think of for having a good time LOL

Great park. Sometimes there are rowdy people there, but the place has a lot of soul and it's a favorite for my kids. Short walk to many delicious restaurants as well!

Nice park with swings, play area, basketball court and big field. Only negative is the homeless population (expected in Eugene unfortunately) that hang out there. Loud and tend to leave trash etc but city and neighbors do a good job keeping it as clean as possible.
