I read two of the bad reviews before I got here and was curious about the validity of them. Here is what I found. This restaurant is truly a mom and pop shop, there are two lovely people both attending and cooking for the whole restaurant. I did find I waited a little longer than usual for service but I also know I am a full grown adult capable of practicing patience and compassion. It was well rewarded at the end as the food was delicious! The chicken was super crispy! The rolls was even better than the description and the miso soup was warm and cozy. Please come and enjoy the delicious food the owners have to offer but don’t forget to bring your kindness.

Awesome Japanese restaurant. It is not really an Izakaya, but it has a lot of choices. The food was perfect. Noodle soup is hot and tasty, sushi is well made and the appetizer is so big.

This place is one of my favorite place to have great quality of food in Eugene. It’s a block away from the campus, friendly atmosphere and staff. Food quality is very good. They recently started the sushi bar and they have great quality of sushi/sashimi too. I highly recommend this place!

Nice little place with AMAZING sushi. Started with the miso and the broth is full of flavor, was delicious. I then had the Jinsei Combo #2, mine came out with 3 pieces of sashimi of tuna, yellowtail, red snapper, and salmon. WOW! The sushi is so fresh and texturally it’s everything you want. Just enough firmness but also super tender and melt in your mouth deliciousness. I also ordered the lemon roll and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the combo of the spicy tuna, the lemon, and wasabi. Was equally spectacular as the sashimi. Highly recommend. Delicious sushi, no doubt!

The place was really cute and the food especially the salmon poke and spicy salmon roll was literally so amazing and big portions for the insanely cheap price in my opinion. Everything was so fresh and the presentation was done so well. My friend got the teriyaki bento box and she said it was delicious and she got a small portion and it was still really huge. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because it was a little confusing walking in, I don’t know if the waitress treated us differently cause we were students but it didn’t really feel welcoming, but they probably had a bad day or something. Otherwise, I 1000% recommend!!!

Come eat here with playful reverence for modern-traditional Izakaya done so well that it becomes easy, affordable, nom art. There are a ton of places with great food here. This is one worth any distance walked, biked or other. Great for solo dining and all your first dates with its casual clean space with traditional and Star Wars noren. Vibe is happy, grateful, cozy, stylish, comfortable. Everything FELT so good to eat. Our new most favorite. We were so into the experience, we forgot our responsibility to social media pre-photos. Perfection.

Jumbo size for poke bowl! This cozy place did amaze me for cool interior, nice people, and elaborate meals. Good to try!

The small plates were reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend if your looking for yummy tempura! Unfortunately I have chronic stomach problems and didn't finish my portion but I'm excited to enjoy it later!

Love this place. Quality of the food and prep are excellent. They are truly good people. We have waited a bit sometimes but it's like eating with friends. We shift into relaxed mode and enjoy. They do great work. Always worth the trip. They are every time spot on with taste, presentation, and goodness.

Locally owned/ Mom & Pop shop. Wonderful customer service and delicious food! Our waiter was super sweet and attentive. Waters frequently refilled, and wait time was not bad at all. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Food is delicious and the price is worthy. Salmon poke bowl is a must try, you won’t regret it. Also, chicken karaage was fried in the right temperature, crunchy and soft.

Authentic and super tasty!! I ordered the Sake Don (salmon sashimi on top of rice) and the salmon was so fresh and tender! My friend ordered the Spam Musubi and it was comically large lol. We also ordered a bunch of sushi and it came in a really pretty big tray. They also had some good sake and tea options. I liked it so much I came back a couple days later and ordered the exact same meal. I live in Los Angeles and this place competes with some of the best Japanese restaurants there!

The food was awesome! Staff was friendly and apologetic about the wait time. They did offer drinks and edamame for the long wait. Maybe offered to bring one of our sushi rolls out? Just a thought. Overall, it was very nice, and I'll go again for sure. The Big Daddy roll was my favorite!

Absolutely delicious Japanese food. We were impressed with their robust menu, and their great Waitstaff. I would recommend it to anyone who likes good quality seafood!

The new mom & pop owners have been here a year and a half. Authentic, high quality sashimi, generous portions, beautiful presentation, friendly and attentive service, calm dinner atmosphere. You can tell they put care and pride into their work. My favorite Japanese restaurant in Eugene-Springfield. It's a small understated gem of a spot, and a huge surprise to me to find food this good right on the edge of a college campus.

I have been OBSESSED with their nabeyaki udon for weeks now! It’s the perfect cold weather/ comfort food. The broth is super good!!! I always get take out so not sure how good the in restaurant service is, but I’ve had no issues with takeout.
