😐 Not great. Not terrible, but barely good. If you're looking for a quick, cheap place to grab some rice, you've found it. My dish looked good but I didn't finish either the main nor the salad. The salad was a little off somehow and I don't mean flavor. My meal was alright but it was mostly rice. Ric... People often mention good, rice, order, chicken, friendly, restaurant, salad, onigiri,

I recently brought a group of six people in for lunch. The staff were friendly, patient, and helpful; the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I'm only giving this place three stars because they apparently have a 'cash-only' tip policy, which I did not find out about until after we had ordered and paid. This put my group in an awkward position as we all had cards and were unable to tip the staff for their excellent service and hard work. This was an unpleasant and embarassing surprise, and it's not fair that restaurant workers have to bear the consequences of that policy.

Not great. Not terrible, but barely good. If you're looking for a quick, cheap place to grab some rice, you've found it. My dish looked good but I didn't finish either the main nor the salad. The salad was a little off somehow and I don't mean flavor. My meal was alright but it was mostly rice. Rice, tofu, and not enough sauce. The other dish at the table was the miso butter salmon, which was good, but was still mostly dry rice. The onigiri was disappointing. A single garlic clove inside a fist of rice. Teriyaki chicken was the same; not a thumb of chicken inside a fist of rice which crumbled apart after cracking it open to find the chicken. My skewer was fine. The staff was friendly, so that's a plus. Red flag: the cashier, while taking our order at the register, reached back and grabbed a cooking onigiri with his bare hands to check it, then finished taking our order. A quick, cheap fill of rice carbs and a friendly crew is what we found here.

Love this place! Their miso salmon plate with rice and a salad is delish! I’ve also recently become familiar with the garlic tofu- it’s really superb. They are often busy but usually the wait is no more than 25 min and they always answer right away. The onigiri is super tasty- the sweet potato and onion is great as is the tuna. They have two other locations in the area which is really awesome! Overall, one of my favorite spots for a healthy lunch or dinner! Yum!!

I am not a new fan of Ume, first time to Ume Skewer House though and it didn't dissapoint. I love the skewers, crazy good and priced very reasonable. If you haven't tried Ume, make it happen asap you'll be glad you did. 😉

A fun little hole in the wall. I recommend ordering a couple skewers, onigiri, and pot stickers. You can try a little bit of everything without spending a lot. All the food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Service was prompt as well. They clearly do a ton of take out business. While we were eating it was a bit noisy in the kitchen with lids slamming.

Literally the best I’ve had the miso salmon plate for dinner 3 nights in a row now I just can’t get enough! If I could rate 10 stars I would it’s absolutely incredible Edit: I am reducing my review to 4 stars because they have a 12% fee if you’re using card. I love this place but I think 12% is just excessive

Ume is good, just not the best of the local onigiri/grill houses.

Here's the problem. I didn't want to pay a delivery fee so I went into the restaurant on Pearl. I paid with a card, like 99% of people do. I never carry cash. Because of the owners, I could not leave a tip on the 4th of July. I wanted to celebrate the fact that these people were working hard on a holiday and because of the owners I could not leave a tip through paying with a card. Unreal. I hope the workers are paid at least $20/hour because who carries cash these days? Seriously who carries cash? Shame on the owners for not allowing their workers to be tipped by CC! The food was amazing, btw.

I don't know how a place can stay in business with food like this. Just a bunch of bland, raw ingredients thrown into a bowl with no seasonings over rice. For $21 I expect a proper poke bowl, not rice, iceberg lettuce, spinach, raw carrots and raw corn, and one fish. Do better.

Ume Grill is on a steady decline, unfortunately. Sautéed tofu has been replaced with deep fried that is no longer seasoned and the sauces are also lacking the punch they once had. They also struggle to get your order right about 1/3 of the time. Now they are adding a 12% gratuity to all orders paid with a card. I always tip but mandatory gratuity seems like they don’t want to pay their employees a decent wage and instead pass the buck on to customers. It’s really too bad.

Everytime I deliver, they put soup in these coffee cups that have lids that don't seal well at all. I try my best but almost every time the soup leaks a huge amount. The cups don't work good and customers are losing most their soup.

We ordered for pickup and they were very prompt. We ordered the korean fried chicken special. I was very happy with mine and the value is really good, considering the fact ingredients are skyrocketing in prices these days, and they loaded the bowl with chicken.

Awesome little skewer restaurant in downtown Eugene. Very quaint and inviting atmosphere. The decor here is super pretty and authentic. Food here smells and tastes delicious. Their isn't too much indoor seating, and the parking lot is pretty small. Definitely a great restaurant for lunch or dinner, Awesome restaurant to order from. Staff here is friendly and helpful.

Wow! I was so impressed with the quality of the food here. Usually when an entree says it comes with a salad, you get some limp tasteless iceburg lettuce, but not here! Ume offers fresh greens and crisp veggies with a to- die-for tahini dressing. The entees we ordered were delicious -- bulgogi beef, spicy chicken and garlic chicken. We can't wait to order from here again!

I liked the ahi tuna poke bowl a lot, as well as the beef bulgogi plate. However, in my opinion the onigiri had too much furikake on top that it masked the taste of the filling (bbq pork). I am also a very big fan of the pickled cucumbers they serve with their dishes, I could probably eat a whole jar of them. While not necessarily a go to, it’s always a good time when I want it.

They might have good food, I wouldn't know though. I came in and was asked how I could be helped, I asked to dine in for 2. I was told okay sit down, only to sit there and watch nothing commence. I realized I was supposed to order at the front and also grab a menu, and ask for water before sitting. It would have been nice to know the order of operations in a new environment but they don't seem to care to share (any) information.

Walked in, ordered and ate! Hole in the wall sized restaurant - staff is friendly - and food is actually very good - will come back when I can- 2nd visit - Staff has turned over completely (college town🤷🏼‍♂️) and menu changed - so no more rice balls - was food not as good so lowered my rating quite a bit sry

Delicious food! All ingredients are fresh and plated beautifully so it is a pleasure fro the eyes. The salad that comes with the order has in-house made pickled treats and savory dressing. The staff is kind and friendly. I will recommend this place to friends and family:)
