All
of
Eureka
was
booked
and
this
motel
had
a
vacancy.
I
was
halfway
through
the
process
of
renting
a
room
when
a
group
of
guys
walked
up
behind
me
wanting
a
room
as
well.
The
manager
behind
the
window
said
they
had
2
rooms
and
that
one
was
the
handicap
room.
I
said
that
the
handicap
room
would
be
perfect
for
me
as
I
have
a
service
animal.
Suddenly
the
guy
behind
the
window
points
to
his
no
pets
sign.
I
made
it
clear
that
my
dog
is
not
a
pet
but
a
registered
service
animal.
The
guy
then
tells
me
his
motel
has
a
policy
of
only
allowing
five
service
animals
on
the
property
and
we
already
have
five.
I
started
to
protest
and
the
guys
behind
me
steps
up
to
the
window
and
tells
him
that
he
has
taken
four
years
of
law
school
and
it
is
illegal
for
him
to
not
rent
me
a
room
due
to
a
service
animal.
The
guy
still
refuses
to
rent
me
a
room
and
then
says
"We
don't
have
any
room
available"
and
starts
putting
his
board
back
into
the
night
window
area.
I
asked
for
a
business
card
so
I
can
file
a
complaint
with
his
manager
and
he
says
he
is
the
manager,
refuses
to
give
me
anything.
As
I
walk
to
my
blazer
the
guy
behind
me
walks
ove
to
my
vehicle
and
tells
my
boyfriend
what
happened.
As
I
said
before,
every
other
motel
in
Eureka
was
booked.
That
night
my
boyfriend
and
I
had
to
sleep
in
our
vehicle
with
my
service
dog
due
to
this
mans
discrimination
of
me.
The
next
morning,
we
see
the
same
group
of
guys
walking
off
of
a
trail
near
the
beach.
They
had
slept
on
the
side
of
the
road
as
there
were
three
of
them
and
could
not
sleep
in
their
car.
Really
said
that
not
only
was
I
refused
a
room
because
I
had
a
service
animal,
but
they
were
refused
a
room
for
trying
to
stand
up
for
my
rights.
I
will
never
stay
at
this
motel
and
if
you
have
and
I
do
not
think
that
anyone
else
should
either
if
this
is
how
they
treat
the
disabled.
