We arrived last Sunday, August 6th, 2023 and checked it to Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. Upon entering the room we noticed that to get to the bedroom you had to climb a narrow, wooden, spiral staircase. We called the front desk and told them that was a problem for us, that at our age we didnt feel safe to climb up to the bedroom. We were told there was another unit with no stair’s available but they could not change room because we were there using a RCI exchange (we traded our beautiful mountain timeshare in the Smoky Mountains to stay at Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel). We now know that was a huge mistake. My wife slept downstairs on the full size murphy bed and i climbed the stairs and slept in the bedroom. Many of the activities we were interested in were closed while we were there except for golf. We ate breakfast on Monday at 57North restaurant in the hotel ( I may have the name wrong). Food and service were good; however, the hostress was snarky and rude when she checked our names on the guest list and said to us, “ You do know that your breakfast is not free with your stay don’t you?!?” Of course we did but felt the comment was not friendly or necessary. When we made the reservation were were told there was a pool at the hotel. There is not. They have a pool down the road and charge guests $12 per person per day to use the pool. Late Monday evening it rained and continued to rain all night. At about 4:30 am the ceiling started leaking. Drip, drip, drip the rest of the night. Carpet was wet in the main living room and it was scheduled to rain all day. We felt the customer service was terrible. Very unhelpful. We felt we were treated like second class guests because we had used RCI to book this weeklong vacation. By Tuesday morning we had experienced enough and decided to check out. We did check-out and once again were told because we were Using RCI there was nothing they could do. At this point having been there less than 48 hours we were happy to get out of Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. We booked accommodations elsewhere and now are enjoying our Maine vacation.

For the price during off season, I expected more. It’s more of a budget hotel experience than a mountain resort. The location being at the base of the mountain is the only real draw. Rooms are outdated and the outlet next to our bed didn’t work. If the area had any other better option I would take it.

Love the outdoor hot tub. No chlorine. It's saltwater, so your "human soup" is preseasoned. ;-)

The hotel is kept up very well. Restaurant on site was wonderful, I had a nice glass of Italian red at dinner, wished I wrote down what it was! Heat and A/C worked great, very comfortable cool nights and warm days. Good bed and bedding. Beware, a resort fee and housecleaning gratuity automatically added to bill. EV'ers, there are just 2 level two EV chargers in the parking lot. When this place is busy, better have a plan B for charging. I didn't notice any other chargers on the Mountain.

I had such an awesome weekend. Went on a zip line, which ended up being 6 zip lines and then took the cha lift to the top of the mountain. The view was incredible enough, so I plan ongoing back in the fall.

Stayed here with others for a work trip. Service was very sufficient and helpful to my entire crew. The ski instructor Andrea really made me feel confident on the mountain after just 45 minutes!! So fun, and the hot tub outside was so pleasant. Not to go without mentioning, but the steam room and sauna was also so cleansing and relaxing. Definitely loved the rooms, which included all the essential amenities. 11/10 would recommend staying and taking a lesson for skiing if you don't already know how to ski. Rentals are easy to get to and get provided, staff was so helpful and kind!

I was here off season. They keep the cafe open near the hotel which is nice. Staff were incredibly friendly.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be let down. Stayed here for a wedding. Bonnie and Kristen at the reception desk went above and beyond helping me with a small task for the bride and groom. They are kind and helpful. Also D’Ellie’s cafe had yummy food. Would love to come back during snow season.

My favorite new england mountain. Hotel is right on the mountain, a few gear outlets right next door. As far as the location itself, it's way out of the way but well worth the drive. Some if the highest vert in new england, plus consistently cold conditions so they keep their snow. Highly recommend skiing here if you get the chance. As far as accommodations go, you can make out pretty good with air bnb too, plus there is the hostel of Maine which is sweet and has shuttle service. Hit the Rack too, great mountain pub on the access road.

We had a great night stay with two days of skiing. The hotel was great, good food and the outdoor hot tub was a good end to the evening.
