Such great food!!! Great food, prices and portions!!! Love, love, love this place!!!! Truly authentic Chinese food. It's been run by Peter(who is the nicest man on the planet and remembers everyone) and his family since opening over a century ago. I've been eating from this place for over 20 years now(I'm now 36) and I won't eat anywhere else. I have driven a half hour to pick some up(solely for myself too lol) They have dine in, carryout, and delivery and they deliver pretty far too! They will deliver pretty far into Portage which no other place in Hobart does, which makes me and my belly happy 😊 I have never ever been disappointed in anything I've ever ordered. I can eat off the large fried rice probably 3 times because the box is so stuffed, not sure how they do it or get it closed for that matter. Food is always hot even when I had it delivered which from the time I ordered to it being dropped off was a little over an hour( I live at least 20 minutes from there depending on lights so it's not as bad as it sounds time wise lol) This last time it was 35 minutes from ordering to my doorstep!!!!

Good reviews are important to making the right decision and NHK deserves one. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly. You also recieve a very very large serving of food for the price and it tasted good. Tea came on the house and was good as well. Don't know when I'll be in the area again but if I am I will be back. This is a home away from home for me. Pete the owner here is from the same city of China my friends family are from (Pagoda Inn was in Griffith IN), so the food is 99.9% the same as my friends Mom and Dad used to make. The culture is there obviously, and Andy, Alyssa, the staff there is wonderful. Service is spot on. Food is great. Have enough for date night just the 2 of us, or a family of 12, Pete can accomplish and accommodate your needs. Remember, the American taste is a bit different from the Chinese pallette, we American like sweet tasting, they like sours and spicy. Hot and sour soup is a perfect example. My family and I will continue to come here whenever we need the comfort food of China. A+ across the board.

This place has been epic for decades. I was once in a situation where my wife would severely limit my visits to Hobart. So there was a 20 year stretch where I was not able to go. After 20 years, I finally make it back in there, and Pete goes "Hi Mike, do you want the Singapore Rice Noodle." Little did he know that in that 20 year period, I literally took several trips to Singapore, never to have as good of noodles as those served at New Hong Kong. Excellent portions, good food, great attitude.

If you want to have real Chinese food, this is a really affordable and yet amazing restaurant. The soups are the real deal. Waiter was helpful and nice. I actually asked if they made a mistake when we got the bill because it was so little for all the great food we had, turns out Indiana just doesn’t tax people to death. Love this state 🇺🇸

Best Chinese food in NWI. Usually Chinese food is hit or miss, but its always delicious from here. They offer a beautiful but casual dine in area, and you can order to-go as well. The employees are always very friendly and personable!

If you google New Hong Kong the web site will give an option to view the menu. I ordered Beef Imperial today and the sites menu lists the price at $9.49. Price at pick up from restaurant is $11.99. I showed this to the owner and he said that is googles menu! What! Needless to say, food is good but Peter, learn how to put a real menu on the internet.

I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food. The portions are large enough that I always bring some home. The dinner specials are $10.99 and include an entree, egg roll, and soup. I enjoy the chicken dishes -- sweet and sour chicken and tangerine chicken are favorites. I always enjoy their hot and sour soup. The shrimp egg rolls are delicious. Peter is a great owner. He always stops by to say hi to everyone.

Been going there for years. My kids and grandkids love this place as well. We usually order carry out when we have a get together. The service is great and they are always genuinely friendly.

Peter is one of the hardest workers/business owners I have ever met and is an extremely kind soul. Where other Asian restaurants in the area have lowered their quality and service, New Hong Kong 🇭🇰 has kept their quality and service up. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. The portion sizes are huge the owner is a great guy 👍.

Food was awesome! Had to wait to put a table together for 6 patrons. A few busboys/girls needed for busy days. But who knew that day would get super busy! I'd wait no matter what. Great value for the amount of food you get for sure! Please stay in business 😁

Not much to say here…best Chinese food in town. Quality has not changed one bit in the last two decades. Pete is an awesome guy that always has a smile on his face.

Before covid hit a few years ago this place was by far the best Chinese food in this area or even the Chicagoland area but as with all restaurants after the covid thing the food is not as good as it used to be but it's still pretty good compared to other places... The owner peter is awesome and he's a cool guy that's been running that business for decades they've been around for a very long time 💯💯💯🤟🤟🤟🤟💯

Best Chinese food around. Lots of choices on the menu. Food is always fresh. The restaurant is very clean. Service is always good. The owner is so nice always making sure his customers are happy. Highly recommend this restaurant

I love new Hong Kong!!! Peter the owner is the absolute best so happy and positive I love him! Andy is alway a great server and also happy and positive all the time. We love the food the prices are great I have nothing but love for new Hong kong, I go there often to where Peter knows me by name. As a matter of fact I’m going to have dinner there tonight.

If you are a Chinese, you will be very disappointed with the taste of the food. The meat is precooked before frying, a lot of black soy sauce. The service is good but the chef needs more training.

Delicious everything. Great way to over eat. Best place to try new dishes because it's all incredible. The staff is very friendly too. Remembers us by name and preferences too!

We received our food was wrong, 1 dish was burnt, and the other pne had different vegetables added. We spent$27 for food we called to get credit was told they can come back n take the food n make fresh food I told the man on the phone that's fine that we did start to eat them. Was told he needed the whole order back. W t was that ok we will never order there again. Food bad. Customer service worse.

We have ordered twice for carryout and the service was amazing despite how busy they were. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The man who took our order had a smile the entire time even tho the phone never stopped ringing with the amount of customers walking in to match. Food was amazing! Im picky with my egg rolls and crab rangoon but they get a 10/10!! Orange chicken, beef fried rice, chicken in garlic sauce, beef chow fun alllll amazing!!! We will remain repeat customers and I highly recommend you do to!!

All food is great, not a fan of their chow mei but other than it's all good. Picked up and delivered all times, never ate there so i couldn't rate the atmosphere. Give them a try!

I ordered food tonight like I always do. The sweet and sour sauce was spoiled and smelled very bad. The Is mongolian beef was spicy. I told them no spicy food. The manager was very rude on the phone. My friend had roaches in her rice.

The food was very good. The only problem was that we had to wait a little too long to order and one of the meals wasn't prepared as it was ordered but corrected quickly. The people were very nice as well.

Fantastic! Sesame balls are the best I’ve had. We tried all kinds of food here and it was all great. We have favorites though. The sweet and sour chicken, sesame balls, spring roll, fried rice, low mien. Etc. love the fact you get tea! Felt very authentic. So friendly and wonderful. Loved 🥰 will be back 😊

This place is absolutely delicious 🤤. The staff is super friendly. The portions are enough that when we get the large size, we have leftovers. I order from here whenever I want Chinese food and it never disappoints (I order carry out).

Their food was delicious! Great price for thekr portion sizes! This is now our go to place for Chinese. So glad I found it! My fiancé has been eating here for years but we didn't know they delivered to us! So glad to find out they do!
