The
pub
is
great,
the
hotel
not
so
much
(or
at
least
my
experience
was
quite
bad
and
nothing
was
done
to
rectify
it).
The
lady
at
the
hotel
reception
was
lovely
and
helpfulâI
just
wish
she
and
the
rest
of
the
staff
wore
a
mask
(personal
preference,
I
know
itâs
not
legally
required).
I
booked
a
room
(very
nice
room,
no
complaints
there)
because
I
needed
a
place
to
work
undisturbed
for
24
hours
as
I
had
an
important
deadline
to
meet.
After
work
was
done
around
midnight,
I
went
to
bed
for
a
ârestorative
night
sleepâ
(silly
me)
only
to
be
woken
up
repeatedly
by
sooo
much
noise
from
the
hallway
from
people
walking
past
my
room
and
talking
loudly
at
crazy
hours.
As
if
that
wasnât
enough,
we
were
woken
up
at
3.20
am
by
the
fire
alarm.
Luckily
it
was
a
false
alarm.
Woke
up
for
breakfast
at
7
(had
a
meeting
at
8
elsewhere
so
I
was
in
a
rush)
only
to
find
out
that
breakfast
had
been
delayed
because
of
the
alarm
incident
as
it
apparently
related
to
the
gas
in
the
kitchen.
When
breakfast
started,
I
asked
if
instead
of
a
full
English
breakfast
or
a
granola
bowl
(the
breakfast
menu
doesnât
have
too
many
options),
I
could
have
a
quick
cheese-on-toast
(I
was
in
a
rush!)
but
was
told
no.
You
would
have
thought
that
they
would
have
had
the
gesture
after
a
disrupted
night
etc,
but
nope.
Thatâs
it.
Bad
service,
no
attempts
at
making
your
experience
pleasant.
No
apologies
about
the
alarm
either.
Iâll
be
returning
to
the
pub
because
Iâve
been
a
long-time
customer
and
itâs
a
great
pub,
but
I
wonât
be
staying
at
the
hotel
again
unfortunately.
Which
is
a
pity
because
I
do
have
to
accommodate
a
large
party
in
a
few
monthâs
time;
I
guess
Iâll
lodge
them
at
the
Forrester
Arms
instead.
