A nice place for a short walk and it is very beautiful, the staff were very friendly and professional too. However... £11 entry is waaay too much. You can very easily walk around the gardens in less than an hour at a slow pace, there is not much too see and very little information, it would be good to have some history to read as you move around the gardens. If you're a NT member and you don't have to pay to enter it would be worth visiting, but again, it's a 30-60 minute walk at best so will not keep you entertained for long. £5 would be a reasonable price and a few information boards with history of the site and local area would greatly improve the experience.

Another fairly popular place. The car park seems adequate for visitors numbers and was also free. Once inside the easy to follow perimeter walk gives great views of the lake and other landmarks. Generally a very sedate walk with a couple of steep parts. The cafe has a wide variety of options and good outside seating area. You could spend a morning or afternoon here if you had time. The perimeter walk is about an hour at a very leisurely pace.

It’s always a great pleasure for my family walking around the Claremont. Fresh air, wonderful landscaping, especially up high from view points. The entire park and gardens are very well maintained. Lovely place for children to play, whether building dens or enjoying the playground, especially having tea and cake after. Dog friendly place. Do need to keep your dog on short lead. Highly recommended.

Quite small but really nice garden. Lots of benches everywhere to sit down and admire the view/have a snack, however, we couldn't see a single bin in the park. We visited as we are NT members but otherwise, the price would have been a bit too steep. Really nice cafe and playground (for younger children).

I only just discovered this place today, and wow! Such an amazing place! There are two fantastic play areas for the kids, so many amazing huge trees, spectacular views and rich wildlife. It has so much character and an interesting history. I'm so happy to support the upkeep of these incredible places with my membership.

Really lovely gardens, good winter trail to keep little ones amused but more visitors then I think it can cope with… not enough parking or tables in the cafe for the amount of visitors. Which says what a lovely place it is! The loos were nice too.

Lovely visit with family. The place was in full bloom with various planting.lovely little cafe to sit and have lunch or just a coffee. Nice little play frame for the kids to release some energy, geared more towards the younger audience. Beautiful place, about a 4 km walk if you want to see everything. They accept dogs on the lead, due to the many wild birds on the water. Lovely visit, we will be back in a year or so. Thanks.

Great place for a weekend trip. Not very large though. Can be walked in 2 hours. Nice coffee shop, playground area, toilets. Dogs must be on lead all the time. Loads of birds. Nice large pond in the middle.

You no longer need to prebook, which helps. This is a garden of a former royal palace (Princess Charlotte (George IV's daughter lived here with her husband, Prince Leopold). The palace is now a private school, but you can see part of it from the garden. The garden has a large lake, with a folly on an island, a grotto on the banks, and it's of birds. It also has hills where you can get excellent views of the lake. It has a tiny combined shop and cafe which gets full very quickly making it difficult to use either of them.

What a lovely place to spend time, a pleasant walk, deckchairs by the lake; either in the sun or the shade. Entertaining waterfowl; swans coot, moorhens, geese ducks even a heron. Nice cafe. Worth every penny of your NT membership or entry fee!

Really beautiful, relaxing garden all around a stunning lake. Would have given 5 stars but had a very disappointing dry, uninteresting sandwich! Although the coffee and sausage rolls were delicious.

A lovely day out in a great setting. There were ducks swimming around the lake, the sun was shining, There were ample benches to rest on during the long walk around the grounds, and a lovely cafe right by the car park to rest and enjoy coffee with a delicious cake next to the car park.

A calm and restful oasis to escape the hustle and bustle. Beautiful grassy and wooded areas around a large lake. Lots of wildfowl and white doves roaming amongst us on our walk. You can visit the cafe and toilets without paying to enter the park.

We really enjoyed visiting the landscaped gardens. These gardens are fabulously manicured and are rather unique. The garden has one trail and it's easy to find your way around without a map. There is a lovely viewpoint of the gardens above the amphitheatre and many spots in which to set up a picnic. Parking is limited.

It's nice and all, but £24 for two adults is way too expensive for less than hour walk. Just as a comparison, two tickets for adults for Kew gardens are £34 and you can literally explore there all day. The lake and surrounding views are picturesque.

Came here with the free autumn visit voucher. Wouldn’t mind paying for it. It is a nice well kept area. Easy footpaths suitable for everyone. Excited to see some chestnuts on the ground to be picked.

Great place for a walk around the lake and gardens. There is a children's play area and small café/shop. Cafe needs more seating as it was pretty busy, so I couldn't find anywhere to sit with my coffee.

Lovely, landscaped gardens. You enter and almost straight away come to the lake. We walked around the lake and then up and around the amphitheatre. You can hire a rowboat and do some rowing on the lake. It was £10 for 30 mins. You can have up to six in the boat but no dogs are allowed in the boat. You are allowed dogs in the garden but they must be kept on a short lead. There were several areas that were roped off due to them having been reseeded with grass. There were no bins around the grounds until you get back to the car park. It was a very nice, pleasant walk and we stopped and had a picnic lunch there. Would definitely recommend although it was a bit smaller than most of the National Trust sites we visit.

Lovely gardens with varying lengths of walks around the lake. Great cafe and play park for the children. The only thing that wasn't great was the amount of seating in and outside the cafe and the car park. It got very busy, very early, and we ended up having to park in one of the residential roads as the additional car park across the road was also full. Also, people had parked in the lay bys either side of the entrance, blocking the pavement, which meant we had to walk in the road to get around them with two small children and a buggy.

Beautiful weather and plenty of car parking space available. Car parking is Free I think parking fee inc ticket price :) then it is worth to come for day out. We spent 3-4 hours and enjoyed walk. And very near farm store! 🌟 clean toilet and big cafe and Icecream 🍦 Great fun, but feel like something missing .. 🥹😂 not much flower lots of tree 🌲🌳🌳and birds!

It's was a lovely place to visit and relax on a hot day. It was quite and peaceful. Easy to get to by train and bus, but ask the bus driver to let you know when you get to the stop for Claremont House and Gardens or they go straight past it. The only downside was that the house was not open. It has a nice coffee shop, there is no souvenir shop though. Highly recommended for a nice day out walking around gardens.

Any local London park has more too offer. 30 min is enough to see it twice. It shouldn't be attraction and certainly not chargeable.

We went in the morning and it was quiet. Parking is limited so go early. Free car park. Nice wall around the park with picnic and small activity for kids and adults around the park. We played badminton and bowling. Nice view point as well. Worth a visit.

Beautiful gardens. Wonderful trees. View from the top of the amphitheatre was majestic. The Egyptian geese are quite territorial, so they definitely provided some amusement. And there's a back swan! Serene place.

Lovely place for a gentle stroll around. If you have a physical disability then it may be best to stick to the walk around lake. Badgers play area up steep steps. Little playground near cafe. Cafe excellent. Not a lot of parking spaces.

Lovely autumn day spent at this lovely landscaped location. We went with our grandchildren who took part in the witch hunt. The kids loved it and finished in the playback, while the adults had a lovely coffee from the nice tea/coffee shop. Well worth a visit, car parking can be tricky.

A jewel in Surrey!! You can spend the whole day here and there would still be lots to explore!! Well maintained area with a beautiful lake, nice cafe, lots of parking and area for kids to play!! A must visit whenever I am in Surrey again!!

  • 4/5 Becky T. 1 year ago on Google
A nice peaceful place to wander. You can see the gardens in about 30-45 minutes if wanting to do a quick walkthrough, or can take a more leisurely pace and stop to enjoy the ducks and geese, sit in one of the many viewpoints, or visit the children's play area or tea room. There were many different areas like grassy walkways, forest walks, and views around the lake. The path around the lake was fairly easy as it's mostly flat, and though stony it seems like children's prams could be pushed without too much effort. One side path does have a slight incline, but not bad either. If you want to see something specific, make sure to take a photo of the map before entering as there are basically no signs along the paths. The price felt a little high for non-National Trust members. Facility wise: - Parking is free - Toilets are in the parking area and clean but dated - Little mobile service on O2 or EE

The playground of the Royals. Apparently Queen Victoria herself used to play around this park. It's small and charming, full of birds and benches. Easy to walk around the pond even with the little ones. The hill is not that steep and you'll have great views from the top. The hill behind is also quite accesible and you'll be able to see Belvedere Tower from the locked gate. Scooter, bikes and balls are not allowed.

Had a very pleasant walk around the gardens. Some beautiful specimen trees amongst the landscape gardens. Lots of seating around the lake to enjoy the view . Amphitheater was a little odd as expected something in the round as opposed to here on a steep slope but still very interesting . Friendly helpful staff and nice little free car park . Cafe and shop looked good despite not using either. A pleasant place to spend a couple of hours.

  • 5/5 Elli 10 months ago on Google
Friendly staff at reception and cafe. A good long walk all around the area. The map is so clear to guid you. If you're a fan of rowing boat, it's better to book in advance.

  • 1/5 Kunal K. 3 months ago on Google New
It's not worth the entry price of £12. The park is too small and you can cover it less than an hour. Not even a single trash bin inside park and they keep talking about keeping the park clean. Although the scene are good, trails are basic and old people friendly, which is good. Cafe is average. Park is not maintained properly given the donations and earnings they are making through entries.

Claremont is a really beautiful garden / lake to visit. The parking can be tight, but staff do a good job at helping. There are different walks around the lake and up the top. My children love the playpark and it's conveniently near to the coffee shop!

Claremont is a landscaped garden - think Capability Brown rather than neat exhibition flower beds. It has undulating terrain which give some amazing views, and there are shady paths which were welcome on a hot day. Cold and hot drinks in the café are an added bonus.

Great place and even better without the crowds! Well thought out COVID-19 plan making the grounds even more peaceful. Great for a pleasant stoll or somewhere peaceful to chill. Take your blanket, a chilled bottle of wine and find a quiet corner or some place with views over the lake..

  • 5/5 AS 3 years ago on Google
Well organised, sticking to Covid-19 guidelines. Very humid today and the grass is looking thirsty. All the same, a very pleasant stroll and a cuppa from the teashop. Plenty of shady spots for a sit down and take in the laid back surroundings.

I absolutely loved this garden. We were unlucky with the weather but still managed to walk across this magnificent garden, enjoy the views, see beautiful vegetation and wildlife. There is a cute playground and a gorgeous cafe/shop with drinks and light meals or snacks. You can relax and stroll and spend a perfect morning or afternoon. I would definitely recommend it to families, couples or even a group of friends that want to have a relaxing day out.

Lovely place to go for a walk and grab some refreshments from the cafe after. Even with the measures they have in place for COVID-19 (one-way system, timed slots, etc.), our family still had a great afternoon at this venue.

Nice park to walk. Cafe closed. Toilets open.

  • 3/5 Miles M. 3 years ago on Google
A very pleasant area of natural beauty, but more Park than Garden as regards flowering plants. I'm giving three stars only because in relation to many other NT properties I've visited, it's not that big as regards the grounds and doesn't have a large house to visit. Still worth while spending a couple of hours here. I did two circuits to get a better walk. The lake is very nice and has various water foul including Egyptian Geese and a Black Swan. There is a Caffè kiosk serving cakes, sandwiches and refreshments. The children's play area is currently closed
