Visited this pub for the first time over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The service is amazing! The waitresses and bar tenders are so friendly, attentive and helpful. It made the whole experience great. We had the beer battered fish & chips and turkey roast for mains and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Everything was amazing, I can’t single one thing out. The portions were big, great taste and the food came quickly. Can’t recommend this pub enough!

Great family friendly pub! Really enjoyed the Sunday roast - it was my Mother’s day treat! Definitely going back there as we loved the place, lovely atmosphere and good service.

Lovely local and will be back. Nut roast was good, but the gravy could have a bit more flavour and be a bit thicker. Cheese tart was very small for the price - a slice of tart would be more accurate. Hopefully I can give it 5 stars next time.

A very pubby pub. Not a boozer but still convivial. Food leaning into gastro with the kitchen obviously taking pride in their offerings. When full of an evening it feels hearty. The owner clearly likes being there. The staff are chatty. I tried to take some stars off so my review feels less fanish but I couldn't in all heart think of any area that deserved it. It is a really good little pub, tucked away from the main drag along the ponds and sadly easily overlooked; lord knows I missed it for years and now regret that fact.

Absolutely fantastic food. I really was impressed by just how good the food. You order food through an app and overall the ordering worked very well. There was a wide selection of warm drinks, such as mulled gin and tonic and baileys hot chocolate. There is also a good selection of largers and ales. We were sat outside and there were some gas heaters there keeping us warm. All round great Saturday pub lunch experience.

Service was phenomenal but the roast was rather disappointing. We had a reservation for when they first opened at noon so you’d think that the food would be fresh. The chicken roast and veg tasted like it’d been sitting out for a good while. We struggled to get the knife through the chicken even. There’s definitely room for improvement.

I came to the sun for dinner after work. Really quick service and friendly staff. I ordered the burger and the sticky toffee which was tasty. Cocktails a bit too strong to enjoy, especially for the price.

Excellent service and very friendly staff. Food of good quality if a little expensive. We had a party of 8 and we all received our meal at the same time. Variety of beer and wines available. What could you complain about! We went lunchtime mid week, so a little quiet.

I celebrated my 60th birthday here in the gin library at The Sun and we had a fabulous time. You can't fault the food, the service, or the atmosphere. Thank you to Jo the manager for all her support planning the event, and Bonnie for running it all so smoothly. So very grateful, and everyone had a good time. A friend is already booking her 60th there following mine!

On my way to the station and chanced popping in for some food. Best decision I have made all week. Great service, great steak and a great pint.

Amazing Sunday lunch ⭐️ Wow, we booked here for our first Sunday lunch, we live locally in Carshalton and had been meaning to visit for a few years but with covid it had been impossible. The staff are super friendly, top service. The food was amazing, my lamb roast dinner was piping hot. All condiments were provided once we ordered and was there when our food arrived. I asked for extra gravy and within 1 minute it arrived. The food was delicious and without doubt the best roast I have had in a long time. We will definitely be coming back not only for the food but for the amazing service

I would give it a 4.5 star for the food because it was mostly good, but the lamb roast lacked a bit of seasoning, and the fish (from fish and chips) was a bit bland. Else the food was generally nice. The 5 star, though, is for the service. Very friendly and accommodating service. My son wanted roast chicken with gravy in place of the chicken goujons, and that was accommodated without a fuss. The puddings were also very tasty, and the cocktails were nice. It's a nice atmosphere as well for a Sunday dinner.

A warm welcome and made to feel like part of the family when you walk into this pub. Friendly table service without a long wait. Food served piping hot and really tasty. Been here a few times now and have a few guest beers / cider on tap. Recommend the Sea cider and the sticky toffee pudding......

Pudding at the end of Burns’ Night Supper. Feel full to bursting. I was worried that Callum might lose a finger whilst addressing the Haggis. Thankfully no ambulance required!

A big thank you to Jo, Beth, Bonnie & Ria and all the team at The Sun. We had a fantastic wedding reception in the gin library. Great organisation, communication and planning from Jo & Beth made wedding planning simple. Bonnie, Ria & team were excellent on the day, nothing was too much trouble for you. You made every guest feel welcome. The decoration was beautiful and the the gin library was immaculate! The guests raved about the food, every dish was delicious. L&S

Went there for dinner. We ordered a liver pate with bacon jam and focaccia which was nice but small portion for £7. Then we ordered a curry and the panko chicken. The curry was not the best, it had the curry tast but was not salty enough just as the chicken. Everything was good after I added extra salt (not a small amount) and pepper. Chef should taste the food before serve. Had a coke and an orange juice aswell, charged for £52. Too pricey for the quality. Staff were nice. I would say this place is good for a drink, but not for food.

Gastro pub with a beautiful garden. Perfect for a spot of lunch in the sun. They offer vegetarian and vegan options too.

Excellent lunch in this Carshalton pub. I had a beautifully presented roast cod main. The pub is aptly named. We sat in the garden and enjoyed the spring sunshine. Very busy - deservedly so. We were a party of eight - mainly my daughter and grandchildren who live locally.

Not sure if it’s because I left a nice review on our first visit to the Sun…… but we got treated like royalty this Saturday lunch time!!!! Best table in the house! The best burger and homemade chips ever! Washed down with a Bramble cocktail, Staff are sooooooo friendly and icing on the cake….. pub and staff took Halloween to another level 👻🎃

Another visit on a Sunday for us and what can I say apart from spot on again we took our children the staff where very welcoming the pub was busy inside and outside lots of people in for Sunday lunch. Larger and gins where spot on as was the cocktails. We had the mixed roast a kids roast and a lamb roast all cooked to perfection you can tell the chef cares about the food he cooks decent size portions came out nice and hot. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a pub every time.

I visited The Sun for some evening dinner and I was very impressed with the pub, its decor and above all the politeness and the professionalism of its serving and managerial staff. I ordered the battered cod & hand-cooked chips and when the order arrived it was absolutely delicious with the cod being very succulent and with the hand-cooked chips being just as they should be. Top marks to the chef and staff at this pub where some twenty years previously The Sun had a very unsavoury reputation for troublemakers and other rabble but the pub as it is now is a place I will definitely return in the future for the quality of the food and for the politeness and attentiveness of its staff.

Probably one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Everyone seems enjoyed their gnocchi and haddock and chips. Delicious puddings too. We will be back soon.

Always great food, great service and a great atmosphere at The Sun! Went there for Steak & Wine Thursday recently. The food was delicious and the themed nights on the weekdays is such a great concept!

Full up inside on Saturday lunchtime with most people eating, so had to sit in the garden, bit chilly in November. It's a good garden in the summer. Very popular pub.

We lived in Carshalton for 5 years and moved away 5 years ago. The Sun was our favourite pub when we were here. Today we returned, it’s still just wonderful, the food superb, the staff fantastic. If your nearby visit this wonderful establishment, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s a nice pub with nice food and a good selection of drinks not available in all the other pubs. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice however we had a roast on Sunday and I don’t think it was very good especially for the cost these days. Which is the only reason I’d give it 4*

This was our 4th visit to The Sun. We have been for 3 lunches but as a Birthday treat for my wife we booked for a Friday evening. I always think the popularity of a place is a strong indicator as to how good it is and every time we have visited it is great to see it so busy. The food, as usual was faultless. I had the Haddock and Chips for my main meal. I wasn't disappointed! Great menu. We chose a lovely bottle of South African Chardonnay. The service was friendly and attentive. The Team at The Sun should be proud to be able to tempt customers to return. We will definitely return. Thank You
