I
joined
Icon
gym
just
over
six
months
ago,
after
an
initial
taster
trial.
I
chose
Icon
for
its
convenient
location
(for
me)
and
seemed
very
different
to
the
many
other
types
of
gyms
I
had
been
too
before,
plus
mainly
due
to
the
support
and
expert
guidance
of
all
the
encouraging
and
knowledgeable
staff.
I
had
had
a
long
spell
away
from
health
and
fitness
(due
to
numerous
family
and
work
commitments),
generally
looking
after
everyone
else
but
myself)
-
so
getting
back
into
some
form
of
shape,
flexibility
and
strength,
was
going
to
need
a
different
approach
that
was
sustainable.
The
whole
way
Icon
is
set
up
seems
to
suit
busy
people
with
busy
lives
but
with
a
massive
support
network
from
others
in
a
similar
and
non
judgmental
position,
led
by
a
small
collection
of
likeable
personal
trainers
that
live
and
breath
health
and
fitness.
The
classes
are
tough
but
manageable,
so
you
can
go
at
your
own
pace
yet
are
pushed
-
plus
the
whole
ethos
really
is
about
progress
not
perfection.
Yes,
a
traditional
gym
is
cheaper
-
however
does
not
include
the
constant
on
hand,
expert
knowledge
of
true
‘coaches’,
guiding,
gently
correcting
form
and
encouraging
all
the
way.
I
am
not
a
morning
person,
yet
get
up
early,
several
days
a
week
as
I
actually
look
forward
to
each
session
at
Icon
and
always
come
away
with
a
smile
and
feeling
good
(even
at
times
you’ve
really
had
to
push
yourself).
Other
support
on
nutrition,
stretching,
weight
loss
or
gain,
weight
tracking,
calorie
defect,
checks-ins
etc
is
all
on
hand,
including
and
freely
given
as
part
of
membership.
For
what
you
get
(and
it
very
much
does
suit
me
and
what
I
need),
it’s
by
far
the
best
gym
I’ve
ever
been
too.
I’m
now
in
my
50’s
and
on
my
way
to
being
the
strongest,
then
hopefully
fittest
I’ve
been
since
my
youth.
Greg
the
owner
has
a
great
sense
of
humour,
running
a
lot
of
classes
himself
and
pays
great
attention
to
detail
to
make
sure
everyone
is
included
and
welcomed.
(I
normally
never
write
reviews
and
am
not
paid
to
write
this).
Overall
a
great,
positive
and
rewarding
experience
-
both
physically
and
mentally.
