I would like to say a massive thank you to Ashley Attrill. Not only has he helped me on several occasions where nothing is too much trouble. He facilitated one thing in particular and followed it through over a number of weeks. You can tell he loves his job, helping people is something he gets satisfaction from, he will go the extra mile for every person who asks for help and also approach those people looking a little lost to ask if he can help them He is approachable, personable and is an assett to your company. He always has an upbeat attitude and is polite and courteous. He will go far and it is always a pleasure to see him in store, always says hello with a smile Can't praise him enough , he is one of the special ones and he will go far in a customer service role, I hope he starts to climb the ladder and gets the recognition he deserve. I hope head office sees this review. Thank you for always ensuring I leave with what I need, even if I don't know what that is until you have helped me! You are a star, don't change :) Emma

I visited Homebase at Staines to obtain materials for a job. These included plants in their garden centre. It rained hard while I was there so I waited before going to the car. I've just had a parking charge notice for £100 for staying too long in their (otherwise nearly empty) car park. On trying to telephone to speak to the manager, their phone system put me on hold then cut me off. If I could have awarded zero stars I would. Homebase - and not just the Staines store - has just lost a customer.

Overpriced generally, good parking, poor layout with many checkouts blocked with stock for sale, surely a fire risk . Avoid

I looked online for a country style kitchen and fell in love with the Homebase cream Country Shaker kitchen. I decided to pop into the Staines Homebase to take a look at it in person and was greeted by kitchen designer, Aneisha Muhammad. I explained the look I was after and she immediately sat down at her computer and designed my new kitchen. Aneisha is a very experienced designer and was able to made use of every inch of space and while my focus was purely on the look of the kitchen, she made sure it was practical for every day use. As well as the design, Aneisha did everything possible to make sure I did not miss out on special offers and deals. I was delighted with the design plan and ordered the kitchen. Homebase gave me details of a builder who had glowing reviews and the kitchen installation was very quickly booked in. During the installation, Aneisha continued to work closely with the builders to ensure a smooth installation. Hearing from others, having a new kitchen is a very stressful experience, but for me it was the complete opposite. Working with Aneisha was a wonderful experience. She is such a lovely, friendly person who took care of everything without any fuss. I received a very personal service and a genuine interest in my new kitchen. The end results speak for themselves and I have had so many “WOWS” from friends and family who have seen the new kitchen. Thank you Aneisha and Homebase for delivering my dream kitchen.

Fabulous customer service today from Beth who organised my paint mix for me. Incredibly polite, and super helpful. I’ve now got a perfect match to my Farrow & Ball paint, but considerably cheaper!

Nothing wrong with the store but the girl on the till was disgusting, she never looked at the customer when talking to them, twice l asked her if she was talking to me as she was too busy looking down the aisle opposite her till to see what was going on, very bad manners and rude.

Wow Homebase is in decline. Turning into a jumble sale or bazaar nowadays. Lack of staff, lack of quality and overpriced in comparison to competitors. Parking decent and plenty of other hardware stores close by.

Worst customer service ever and scam product. Be careful with what you buy. I bought a oil radiator electric (95£), but inside the box was another product (apparently a old wall radiator) and was rusty actually. Didn’t want to give me refund saying that wasn’t theirs, and telling me that was suspicious… very very embarrasing So if you think of buying in this store tell them to open the box to check whats inside, as stupid as this sounds… Would never buy in this store again.

Good local store with handy collection and overall customer service !! However the wood cutting service is pathetic and unreliable.. most of the times , it is not available (I suspect people not keen or willing to do this) , today I was told it is available and then in 5 minutes when I was ready to take the wood piece for cutting , they turned back saying it is not available .. really gutted !! This is making me travel to Slough stores for wood cutting which they could have avoided ! I hope they really improve this service !!

Not bad, popped in late, one afternoon, no staff in the gardening section but part of what I wanted was empty on the ground shelf it's replenishment was on a pallet on a top shelf.

Some great deals on...very bare shelves and areas at the moment, I assume end of season readying for Xmas but not the normal range especially the household section. Decent garden section as well.

First time when I went to homebase, probably the last as well. The store itself is nice, however, the prices I found on some of the items seemed to be at least twice over the rival stores.

Kind and friendly staff that always willing to help. Upstairs you’ll find the kitchens, bathroom and furniture. Although designers may not be there, they have left handy barcodes around to book an appointment. The designers are super friendly and accommodating. They really go above and beyond for their customers! The bedroom and furniture is on the other side that have been designed into little sets. They may not be like ikea but it’s nice to get ideas for your home. Lighting is on the other side too. It’s worth a visit, but you only have 90mjns parking. If you have a design appointment they put you into the system to cover your time.

Didn't find what I was looking for. The store team was helpful, but unfortunately, they couldn't provide me with what I was hoping to find, so I gave up.. The place was clean. Good parking and facilities.

I went to buy some plants. Excellent. Well looked after and a great price and good bargains.

Homebase has lost its way. Poor stock keeping expensive and limited range. Staff are nice but pretty clueless. The place so dimly lit it's more like a cave than a shop. If you want DIY stuff the builders merchants are about the same price but much better run.

Great place - huge! Has everything you need and is well organised too!

It's average. Nothing they show on line is ever in their stores. I wanted 3 items not one was available to look at

Please DO NOT EVER shop in a store that treats their customers the way they do. I did my shoping there (spent £208), six days later I receive a parking charge notice to the tune of £100 for overstaying in their car park for about 20 minutes...while shopping in their own store. Well done Homebase management, your private parking company may get the money, your chain, however, won't ever see another penny from me. EVER.

Good products but could do with more staff on checkout

The cashier lady tried to charge me today for four bags of compost when I specifically said there's three, still proceeded to charge me for four? as I checked my receipt and out of principle I complained to customer service and got my money back, it was a little irritating as I could of done without the hassle. This is not the first time, I have noticed this before on a visit, it was just a couple of quid so I dismissed it, now I am wondering if this is a regular thing that Staines homebase does to their customers? Anyway I just wanted to point this out to be aware and check your receipts incase your over charged at this particular store.

I am a regular customer of this shop and because I am not English the staff never been helpful, smiling, but unpleasant and made me feel I should never go in this shop, They always tired and lazy . I am so sorry for these people. They need to remember that English people live around the world.

A fair selection but not a great store aesthetically. A general grubbiness to the store and a low ceiling as you enter doesn't help . Still, if you need timber, paint , tools etc it's got you covered. You know....I miss Great Mills , it used to be in Ashford near the train station. A huge store , very airy and lots of stock. The business that's taken its place is a tad grim.

Disappointed, went to get some woodstain they had a very depleted stock, none of which was any good for me, also all of the paint shelves seemed to be in a mess with missing stock

Visit the Staines, Bracknell and Maidenhead stores depending on which is most convenient and the Staines store needs a mention as we always get a superior service. Displays are always better, staff more cheerful and helpful and feels like there’s a good team and management. Thank you!

Useless, Stores are there to provide service above and beyond online or they can't justify their existence. Barely any paint samples available, and I had to search the shelves to find only two of the four colours I was looking for. Tried ordering online from a store who had them only to get a call to say they actually didn't have them. Oh and they had a bizarre queuing system which wasn't signposted....just make customers feel uncomfortable.
