👍👍 My partner and I stumbled across this beautiful hidden Caffè and was pleasantly surprised. The service was brilliant and Sarah had great suggestions for their homemade cakes. I would highly recommend visiting for a quiet afternoon with friends or family. This is such a lovely place. We had the afternoon tea and could not fault it. The garden area where we sat was so pretty and a perfect spot for afternoon tea and we had beautiful fresh flowers on the table. The food was delicious, really fresh and definitely made with love. It was bespoke to what we wanted and all freshly made, including the sourdough bread which had been handmade that morning. The owner could not have done more for us and really made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Fantastic homemade gluten-free and vegan cakes! The signature Gluten-free Pistachio Cake is impressive with an aromatic rich flavour but fluffy and moist texture! The Vegan Lemon Drizzle is also refreshing and light. Must try their homemade pasta in next visit! The ladies there are friendly and welcoming. A really nice and cosy tea room to have some tea and coffee or even a healthy light meal! I think it'd be wonderful to sit in the garden when it's warmer.

First visit. Seriously good coffee. Cakes made on premises and tasted really good. Great service. Like being at a bar in Italy. Apparently they do vegan options too. We sat outside in the lovely garden. If you are tired of chains and want something better go here!

Love this place. It has amazing cakes (including vegan ones) as well as good lunch « open sandwiches » (salad on a piece of nice bread). The setting is beautiful (since you are in the garden of the house) and the service is great and human. Also reasonably priced for the quality. Basically well with it if you fancy a coffee or a lunch.

Beautiful garden, lovely homemade cake, friendly staff and very reasonable prices; what more could you wish for? Well you've got the free historic Whitehall museum to look over as well - no need to book: just turn up.

I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.

Had a brilliant visit here. We tried the homemade cakes and drinks which were really nice, and the staff had gone to a lot of trouble with everything. The setting within the historic Whitehall building makes it a unique experience and gives the cafe extra character. The staff were extremely friendly, and the place had a very relaxed family-friendly feel to it. Will definitely come back.

Giuliana opened the café specially for us to host a private event. It is a lovely café and perfect for our purposes. The food was most enjoyable, we felt very welcome and were attended to with great care and attention.

Dropped in for a little afternoon treat today following on from a walk around the museum. Even on a quiet winters Friday, the food was fresh and service so welcoming and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the delicious vegan lemon cake and I had the tastiest vegan bruschetta I have ever eaten. I can't believe I have waited so long then visit! We will be frequent customers from here on in. Thank you 😊

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming tearoom in Cheam, and it truly is a hidden gem. The Italian-style coffee is exceptional, and the homemade pistacchio caprese cake was a delight. The cozy ambiance and the owner's warm welcome make you feel right at home. I'll definitely be back to try more treats. A must-visit for coffee and cake lovers!

This place has amazing home made pasta and cakes. I’m a chef and I can tell that’s all home made and not frozen food. I’d recommend the pistachio cake, you must try it!

Wonderful pistachio cake and quite a lovely cup of coffee in beautiful presence of the Whitehall. If you come for a day out in Cheam, this is your place!

Just had an excellent lunch at the Whitehall cafe, I hadn’t realised it does some delicious, homemade lunch options. I opted for an open panini which was very tasty but it also has homemade pasta options / toasties etc aswell. Finished it off with a slice of homemade cake & cup of tea sitting in the very peaceful garden. We will be back! Thanks

I have eaten the best pistaccio caprese ever!! Absolutely amazing place, the staff is super nice, the food is authentic Italian style and the back garden is cosy and it feels like eating in a fairytale 😍

Disappointing. Not like in the photos. No tablecloths very small selection of things to eat. Milk arrived in jam jar. Waitress helpful but dressed in jeans and trainers didnt quite suit the property. Will try again in su.mer.

Pistachio cake is amazing, we all agreed it was the nicest cake we’ve ever had. Lovely family business. We then had a custom made pistachio cake made into a birthday cake. Perfection!

Absolutely a fantastic cozy café with fresh homemade Italian food. We tried the Pistachio cake gluten free, the Italian hot chocolate drink, the cannoli and the cappuccino enjoying the sunshine in the big garden. The quality and price were beyond our expectations and all the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A lovely warm atmosphere. We also enjoyed the tour in the hystorical House and was very fascinating. Glad we found this place in Cheam. They also take take away orders. We'll definitely go there regularly. Highly Recommended!!
