10,238 days after that black Sunday, finally visited Imola last May to pay my respects to my childhood idol. I recommend any Senna fan to go there. It has finally given me some closure of what happened. Placed a memorial cross in his honour. Thank you, Ayrton. For everything.

Had to visit the great man's memorial while on my road trip holiday this year. Well signposted once my sat nav got me to the Imola race track. Ayrton Senna's memorial is on a permanently open perimeter Road, no need to check if the track is open. Was very hot when I went but sat and had my lunch with him under the shade of trees beside the track fence. Constant stream of quietly respectful people came to see him. Very sad he died in that way at only 34.

People who marked it “permanently closed” should deserve a penalty! I was hesitating to come but actually it was open and can be accessed by public transportation. Take a bus number 1 or 2 from Imola Autostazione and get off on Via Dante, and take a short walk to reach the statue. It was emotional visit. One of the great racing drivers in the world.

Very emotional place to visit. I am a massive fan. I watched the race live on tv back in Canberra. This was like a calling to go there. I took my 7 year old son who has just started Karting. I let out a tear or two and had a seat overlooking the sadness/joy of all of the flags and shirts etc left hanging on the Imola fence.

It was very touching. After so many years of his death, you see a lot of people paying a tribute. A lot of flags with messages are hung on the fence. Really touching.

Obviously still a place of pilgrimage for fans of probably the greatest driver of his generation. Still people adding to the tributes of flags and signed clothing on the fence showing he’s still missed and remembered after all these years.

Absolutely the most appropriate monument to a brilliant yet simple man. The love for him showed in the monument from all over the world.

Oh my word. Probably the most serene and spiritual place a motorsport fan can visit. I went there every day during my stay and the feelings of happiness, sorrow and contemplation overwhelmed me each time. Senna forever xx

The monument dedicated to Ayrton Senna in Imola is an incredibly moving and powerful tribute. You can't help but feel an overwhelming wave of emotion as you approach the place where the legend himself was tragically lost. Standing there, amidst the quiet, you can almost sense Senna's presence and his undying passion for racing. The energy is palpable, sending goosebumps up your arm. This isn't just a monument - it's a pilgrimage for any Formula 1 fan or follower of Senna's journey. It's a place where one can reflect, remember, and pay homage to one of the greatest racers who ever lived. A truly emotional, respectful, and worthwhile visit.

This is a very infamous place, the life of the best auto racer on the whole planet ended here... But this place is amazingly filled with energy and I was glad to see that 29 years after the death of Ayrton Senna, you can still meet people here with flowers and tears before the eyes... He was a great man and I am very sorry that he left this world so early and tragically... Ayrton, you managed to overtake everyone except your own death...

In the middle of the circuit there is an open parking area, from where it is a few minutes' walk to the Senna memorial, which stands in a park. There are numerous flags and banners on the fence at the crash site.

"Fear is part of people's life. Some of them don't know how to face it, others - where I include myself - learn coexisting with it or face it, not as a negative thing, but like a autoprotection sensation" Ayrton Senna

Respectful monument in a very peaceful park. Easy to find. It’s a bit sad that Ratzenburger doesn’t have a better memorial though
