Obviously these guys asked for a 0-star. We moved out 2.5 months ago after 1-year living. They have not contacted us since and never replied emails. Was just wondering if they were going to give back any deposit. Only recently when I logged into the portal again that I realized I will get nothing back because they deducted EVERY PENNY of my deposit for carpet replacement. And we told them we had the carpet deeply cleaned by experts right before we returned keys, which costed me $300. These guys are known for doing this type of things, per previous reviews, so watch out! As for quality of living, very nice and quiet neighborhood, but not the buildings. Everything is cheaply built, from stairs to floors to bath tubs. The family lived upstairs has several kids and pets, they just created unlimited amount of noise running around. And whenever I walk in my apartment, there is creaking sound on the floor as if I would break it. And the bath tub is so cheaply built that if you move a tiny bit in the tub you create creaking sound, which is so loud that whenever my neighbor took a shower I knew it. With all the low quality materials the rent is not cheap.

Good: - Nice looking apartments - Nice gym and pool - Nice location - Friendly staff (however see below) - Prompt Service on any issue Bad: - Building are not sound proof. If you are not in third floor, best of luck sleeping with people walking floor above. Management does not help and will ask you to talk to police instead. - Dishonesty on carpet. Until move-in date they will not tell you that the carpet needs to be in same condition as move-in date (condition and cleanliness). At that point, too late to find another apartment. If not in same condition as move in, they will charge you for entire carpet replacement. I had reported holes in carpet while moving in, however due to two spot (6 inches around) in carpet, my security deposit is gone and paid additional money to replace carpet. So in your rent expense while comparing with other apartment add 1000 to 1500 carpet expense during selection process. Would not recommend to friends and family :).

I lived in this apartment for one year. The building has many issues; it was definitely built with cheap materials, you can hear your neighbor, and the people that lived below us, would always complain about our footsteps making loud noises when literally all we do is walk normally (Many reviews support this point). 2nd issue, just forget about your deposit; they took +$1,000 from my deposit!! I read the reviews before I left my apartment about people complaining they take money for cleaning, and I said I would clean the apartment myself, and let them do the carpet cleaning service; I even took some pictures after I cleaned. However, I called them up after I saw the bill, and they told me: " the apartment was NOT clean; we "saw" the pictures!". I was shocked when they said that!! And I told them, I did have proof of the apartment after I cleaned it, and sent them an email with many pictures. They didn't respond to me for a couple of days, and then she sent me a picture of a foil in the kitchen, and she said, we charge a "flat fee" for cleaning! They will do whatever it takes to take your deposit before you leave and make lame excuses. Take my advice, don't come here unless you like to waste your money. (Many reviews support this point too).

We currently live at the Elms and Lisa had made our experience wonderful. She explains the process so well and makes everything so stress free. We are renewing our lease and she was thorough in her explanation so that we could focus on building our new life in Virginia. When we had apartment issues maintenance was quick to come help. We went from a horrible experience renting in NY to this wonderful experience. I know when we first moved they asked us to review the elms but I wanted to wait until we renewed our lease. I love the elms and everything they have to offer.

My time at the Elms at Oakton has been nothing but amazing. I have lived in a lot of apartments and have seen a lot of so so places but the Elms has been a great living experience. From my first tour to my moving out and everything in between I have been well informed and helped with any issue. The service team is quick and efficient and very helpful. And the administrative staff (especially Lisa!) is very responsive and accommodating! The community itself is small and feels safe and welcoming. With close proximity to 66 it makes it a super convenient place to live as well. All in all I'd say the Elms is a great place to live.

My husband and I loved living here. The location is convenient and peaceful. Maintenance goes above and beyond, and all of the staff are helpful and friendly.

I recently moved in to the complex and I’m very impressed on the management (specially Anna and Lisa). They are very friendly and professional. They really do their best to accommodate your needs and to also take care of the tenants (it’s a shared opinion while talking to the neighbors at the dog park, since the complex has one!). The maintenance team is very responsive as well. They did my request within one business day. Even though I haven’t been long, I see they try to maintain the community very clean. Between the management and maintenance team, it’s really a good place to live.
