Ok so here's the deal, I rarely post a review, first because I'm lazy and second because there are few places where I have eaten at that are worth a good review. Well after having lunch here, this place definitely merits/ deserves recognition. It would be an injustice if I didn't. A co-worker of mine that lives in New Bedford highly recommended Jade Garden to me. I arrived shortly after it opened for lunch. I ordered the Spicy Orange Chicken which comes with white rice but requested to have it substituted with fried rice, it was no problem. I waited a little over 10-15 minutes to get my food served. The waitress who attended me was very hospitable. What I liked about her was that she didn't rush me, that way I could take my time reviewing the menu since it was my first time there. When I tasted my food I could tell immediately it was fresh, not something already cooked and nuked in a microwave. And the taste...well all I can say is, I was a very satisfied and happy customer. The portions of the Orange Chicken were huge, could NOT finish it all. I only ate half and took the rest home. I am originally from New York City and have eaten at some good Chinese restaurants there in China Town. I must say Jade Garden ranks up there with them. This place has my highest recommendation👍

I cannot stress enough how amazing this place was! My roommate and I have extremely picky taste when it comes to Chinese food, we were hesitant to try a new place after so many months of looking (we recently moved to the Massachusetts area) but we found this place through a recommendation and LOVED IT. The portions are huge, the prices are great, our waitress was so friendly and hospitable. The area itself is clean and lively but not loud at all. When we asked for boxes for the rest of our food, our leftovers were so abundant that our boxes wouldn’t close! The food was so rich and the vegetables were so fresh, it was truly one of those moments where you melt after taking a bite. The BEST Chinese food that we both have ever had and we were driving 3 hours to get good chinese food prior. New favorite place !!!

I found the food to be quite good. The General Tso's Chicken has just the right amount of heat. My Mai Tai's were rather potent and gave me quite a kick in my step as I later shuffled out the door. Excellent Chinese food for this area, but alas not quite as good as the meals I have savored in Hong Kong. The bartender was a spirited filly with a quick wit.

Jade Garden is my favorite Chinese restaurant around the area. I've never had a bad experience with them. My entire family loves this place! Try the Mai Tai. I promise you won't regret it! I highly recommend.

I ordered Bourbon chick, didn't have it. Ordered General Tso-mild but with Vegetable fried rice. Had to pay separate. I said charge me extra without the pork but I just canceled order. Service was awesome. I'm wondering what type of veg are you putting in this? Next time....

This has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for the past eight years for a good reason! The food is amazing. The prices are a little higher than other local restaurants but it's usually worth it. They've never messed up my order (practically unheard of!) and the staff is generally nice. You get more food eating in then you will with take-out but the portions are big enough to make one combo plate last 2-4 meals unless you gorge yourself.

Our regular Chinese restaurant was closed so friends recommended the Jade Garden. We had takeout and the food was delicious.

I love Jades Garden. I live on Cape Cod and any time I feel like I want Chinese takeout or go out to eat with a friend for lunch or dinner this is my go to place. I especially enjoy going during the winter months to dine in because I love sitting near their fireplace. The food is excellent if you don't want MSG as with most or all Chinese restaurants just let them know and they will accommodate you. The is excellent it's not greasy and the portions are big enough to have leftovers. The chow mein is nothing like the chow mein you get here on Cape Cod nor is the fried rice. I guess different cultures have different ways of making their food. The chicken wings and fingers and cooked to perfection!! With the chicken fingers I've had so many that when you bite into them the chicken is hard and all dried out, the fried rice has so many chunks of pork a good amount of eggs, onion and other veggies. There are times that you may have to wait longer than usual but that's only because they are very busy. I forgot to mention I like their boneless spareribs the ribs are fresh, they aren't hard as a rock and burnt something you wasted your money on because they aren't edible. This is the only place I'll get boneless ribs. I can't honestly tell you about the alcohol drinks because I don't drink.. well maybe on a hot day I'll have maybe a half a glass of beer but no hard liquor. If you're ever in New Bedford and you want to go for lunch or dinner try Jade Garden. I'll call for takeout and let them know I'm coming in from the Cape and they would tell me call us when your in New Bedford or if you don't mind waiting we can start your order as soon as you get here so that will be fresh and hot. They always make sure they wrapped it up very well and when I got home it was still very hot so that I didn't have to reheat it in the microwave. I would also order a large chow mein and have that for the next few days for lunch. They are also priced very well. It's worth the drive. They also have a portion of the restaurant that is private that you can reserve for functions. They will cater it if you'd like or I'm sure you can bring your food. I've been to a couple of functions there where they have catered it and it was very good the food was delicious, fresh and hot. I don't know the pricing that is something you would have to speak with the owner about. It's a very nice area with seating available.

My go to place for New England style Chinese food. Whether it's eating in or take out the food is always consistently good. Kam and his staff are the best!

a few years ago, we had dirty plates served to our table, then hairs fried into the batter on the chicken. Last year, we tried again :( egg rolls were greasy, rice was burnt, and pork inside the dumplings was still uncooked)

I have to say I did like the food. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant because, you're not satisfied with the one you're going to, this is the place to go to in New Bedford. Everything was moist and had a nice flavor to it. Why I'm saying that is because a lot of Chinese restaurants everthing is dry and taste the same. Bravo Jade Garden.

Nice place. Big menu. Wait staff friendly and prompt. Prices are average, however everything adds up for the main meal, drinks, and added food items. Food is good. Some added steps are taken. It's easy for the bill to grow bigger than expected.
