Marcio runs a very high level Jiu Jitsu academy. One of the cleanest most professional gyms I have ever attended. The instruction is really world class. There are many gyms that offer Jiu Jitsu but one day at this academy and you will notice the difference.

I have been a part of the Xcel family since the beginning. Best way to describe Xcel is Professional, from the coaching staff down to the athletes. Although I haven't been able to be there as much as I use to be its awesome to see how much everybody improves as athletes. Xcel BJJ is hands down one of the best up and coming BJJ gyms in the area. Just look at their competition photos on the website. I started training there day one when they opened and I haven't regretted it for a sec. You get more than training at Xcel you gain friendships and bonds. One thing this gym has over any other gyms in the area is that the instructor is a World Campion, travels to other states and counties to train and competes at all the high level competitions. The instructor truly shows what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is all about. He shows his passion for it and wants to help everyone succeed their goals.

I live in Baltimore but have trained at Xcel BJJ several times now while visiting family in the area. It has become something that I really look forward to on these trips. Great group of people! They have always made me feel welcome. The instruction is top notch and the facility itself immaculate. I would train here every day if I could. Highly recommend!

My son has been training with Marcio for 8 years now and I can not praise him and the jiu jitsu family he has created enough. My son was 8 when he started snd is now 16 so we have gone through kids, teens and now adult classes and it does not matter where you are the training and personal attention to help your child be a better athlete is second to none. Xcel is THE PLACE to train if you want to become a champion in either gi or no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!! Marcio and Jim are incredible instructors, my son learned more from Marcio in 2 weeks than he did in 6 months elsewhere!! The gym is always clean and the students are more like a family than just students. This place really is the only gym you need for all your endeavors!!!
