Delicious food and drinks! A quaint, bar atmosphere which I think will thrive once covid restrictions are lessened. The crab nachos were amazing, and the French fries came with a malt vinegar aioli which was awesome. Everything we drank and ate was perfect and the staff was very friendly and attentive. My only comment: it's very small. Our table was arguably too small for 3 people, but we made it work. It's not a place for your family to go out to dinner, but a nice, different place for a couple friends to have fun drinks and a few appetizers.

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of this place. It was bought by new owners and we were admittedly hesitant. However, we were blown away by our first night back. The drinks were strong, but unique and delicious- just how we remembered them to be. The food however, was insanely delicious! We shared the Shrimp Cocktail which was fresh, zesty, and flavorful. Completely upscaled to your typical cocktail sauce. He had the Tuna Burger which he loved and was just as fresh, flavorful, and memorable. I ordered the Edamame Dumplings as an entree, which was the perfect amount of food for me. Vegetarians, rejoice! The edamame was so meat-like and had substance and flavor without being mushy. Overall, we’re sorry we ever doubted you, Cult! We’ll be back again, and again, and again.

There are so many parts I would like to love for this place, but the SERVICE was terrible. From not being greeted, to waiting, to having to actually ask for our order an hour later definitely suggests that the service is off the mark for what I had hoped would have been a great stop is disappointing at the least. Or maybe their best. I can’t tell. I watched as my husband waited to make his order without acknowledgement. I waited as I tried to do the same. Our drinks were well executed in a plastic cup (disappointment #1-I am an adult drinking high end liquor with high prices). We both waited while our bartender completed a conversation with other customers without acknowledgement of our presence (an easy courtesy to provide for service). Finally, a simple order for food was never followed through for delivery from the kitchen(really? You didn’t notice or ask?!) I feel that our patronage was taken for granted in a place where I was recommended to go for exceptional service and product. Additionally, there seems to be no precedent for how to handle such an experience because the staff IS inexperienced and unprofessional. Go if you want to spend too much money to be seen somewhere, but not for what you might be getting by being there. Very disappointed!!!

The drinks are top notch. The food is so delicious. There is not a typical dining room. The seating is basically only bartop style. Come here and have a couple cocktails and share a few plates. You won't regret it.

Cultivator Shoals is by far the best bar experience in all of Downtown New Bedford. Wonderful atmosphere indoors as well as outdoors! The food is always a hit and the drinks are amazing! The staff is all absolutely wonderful, friendly and attentive! I would recommend this bar to anyone who is traveling to New Bedford and looking for a nice, classy, bar experience!

Top notch staff. I have had Avery, Sam, Mike, and Bella at the bar. All very knowledgeable and make my experience enjoyable every visit. Best cocktail bar in the area. Ask the staff about any bottle on the wall and they will give you a lesson. Ask Avery for her award winning cocktail or any of the staff to create something for you and they will make sure your experience is special.

Love it here. I think this is the best burger in New Bedford. The chicken sandwich, fries and buffalo chicken dip are also great!

I visited this bar/restaurant last night. I selected to sit outside in one of their heated igloos, which was cutely decorated 🥰 For food, I ordered the spicy Deviled Eggs, Salt & Vinegar Fries, & Garlic Parmesan Wings. For drinks, I got the Violet Royale & Love & Fear cocktails. Everything tasted amazing & the service was awesome ❤️

I would have left this review as a one if the food were not so delicious... we were only there about an hour and felt disrespected and unwelcome from the staff the entire time that we were there, especially from the bar staff. The atmosphere is beautiful and the vibe when walking in is great. But I would not recommend this business specifically because of the poor service. Had high hopes but the bar wasn't met.

Place had a good look, but me and the crew just got off the boat still had our gear on and everything, just wanted some cold drinks before going home, and some little girl wanted to ID a couple of us at random. Then wouldn't serve us drinks. like do you think we're all carrying wallets on a boat? We walked to rose alley up the street and got drinks no issue.

I frequent this bar often and a review is long overdue. The staff is great and real, which I knew, but tonight one of the staff members really helped my friend and I out. My friend and I (two women) were approached by a man who made us seriously uncomfortable and would not leave us alone, even when asked. Aliah stepped in and helped us. Putting her foot down and telling the man to leave us alone. Not only has she always been a great bartender to us, but she is also one to be trusted. I will continue to be a customer of this bar.

Love this historical bar in downtown New Bedford. They have delicious appetizers, well made drinks and a good variety of craft beers. Check out the amazing art and portraits of local historical figures too.

Great drinks/atmosphere! I’d love to give this place 5 stars however I have had multiple bad experiences with one specific staff member and I cannot figure out why as I do not know this person, am nothing but friendly and always tip. Not sure if she’s just having a hard time in her personal life, but there is no need to make people feel like a bother when they are quite literally paying to be there.

We usually really love this place. They definitely know how to make a good drink. There is one bartender we really love and I wish I remembered his name because he deserves a shout out for his creative cocktails and friendly conversation everytime we visit However, we did have a poor experience today. We aren’t sure if this person was the bar manager or owner but he was really unprofessional. In the middle of making our drink he told our bartender to use the measuring jigger. We have been here multiple times and this particular bartender has made us drinks in the past and he has always been fair. He doesn’t over pour but gives me a drink I don’t mind paying $12-15 for. After my first drink my husband orders a drink for two so we can split it. The “manager” decided to make it for us and gives us barely half filled glass . Granted, I know it’s a big cup but it’s a $25 drink and supposed to be for 2 people. When he gave us the drink it looked like someone already drank out of it because it was half gone. I have gotten this drink in the past and it was filled to the top and had a good amount of liquor . We also saw him making other drinks and when a bartender questioned how empty it looked in the glass , he just decided to change it to another glass and add ice. We didn’t complain tonight but we should have said something. Honestly I really hope management can realize we come back because of the good drinks . We hope they don’t become like all the other places that water their drinks down to save money. We spend at least $100 every time we go here as a couple but it just won’t be worth it to us if we get a drink like we did tonight. We will still return because usually they make great drinks but we will be on the lookout for our bartenders that are fair.

Got there little after 5 place just opened and a little chilly inside but soon warmed up. Great interesting atmosphere and paintings. Very low lighting makes for a cozy atmosphere, tough to read the small menue though. The menu was amazing with small plate appetizers.

Best cocktail bar in New Bedford. Avery and Aleah are fantastic mixologists. Happy hour can’t be beat.

Uhh. If you go there and don't try the deviled eggs, you might as well just never try anything good. They are, without exaggeration, better than your mom's. Chicken wings are super spicy and delicious too. Not bad with a drink or two.

Been to this place a bunch of times and I cannot recommend it enough. The cocktails and food are unique, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is located on a classic New Bedford cobblestone street overlooking the harbor, and is beautifully decorated with local art, tables made of wood from old fishing vessels, and a beautiful bar. However, the staff is what really makes this place special. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and can make just about any cocktail you can think of, or recommend something you’ve never even heard of. More importantly they are always welcoming, kind, and they make sure you’ll enjoy your time at cultivator shoals!
