Overall I think Dr. Patel is a great doctor and human. However he’s not immune to the societal ills that plague our healthcare system. As a black patient I’ve run into many issues with providers— sadly this was one of the worst ones. I had a medical concern that was placated, and was written off as just “angry” and “upset” when I expressed my disappointment and displeasure with how my concern was addressed. Rather than seek to understand, the Doctor gaslighted me and weaponized “red tape” to discourage me from reaching out regarding my medical concern. I was told I was just upset that he didn’t do what I requested, when that couldn’t have been further from the truth. I encourage folks to use caution when sharing medical concerns that are counter to “dominant medical discourse” at this practice.

Dr. Patel is the best, most empathetic physician I have ever seen. I never feel rushed, and I feel like he genuinely cares about what’s going on with my health and in my life. He always makes sure to give me an opportunity to discuss any and all concerns that I may have. He’s the type of doctor I want to be in the future.

Dr. Patel is truly the best doctor I’ve ever found. He is very thorough and extremely kind. He takes extreme care in listening to everything you have to say then takes time to offer feedback and trusted referrals for each and every thing. Could not recommend a doctor more.

Dr. Ankur Patel is the best primary care physician there is. As soon as you walk into the waiting area of his clinic, you are greeted by a friendly receptionist, great feng shui, and a sense of calm. No only is Dr. Patel extremely knowledgeable (about Everything) but he’s also a kind, empathetic, and active listener who cultivates an environment of trust and respect. His background includes western medicine, but he’s also highly knowledgeable about the importance of proper nutrition and stress reduction. I feel as though his practice includes a great balance between western and eastern medicine. For example, he has prescribed medication when it was truly necessary, but is more reasonable and modest than PCPs I’ve had prior. Other doctors I’ve seen in the past would prescribe antibiotics at the first potential sign of infection — without a real clue yet as to what was going on. Dr. Patel is more modest about it with a more wholistic approach. I feel that my personal preference to not take too much medication is respected by Dr. Patel. I do not feel judged or questioned. This quality has not been easy to find in other PCPs who would sometimes make me feel uncomfortable about my preferences. As long as Dr. Patel is still practicing as a PCP, he will continue to be my primary care physician.

Doctor Patel is very kind, and professional. He have been my PCP from last year, he always try to listen thoroughly and attentively from the patient. I 100% recommend him to anyone needs the PCP.

Dr Ankur Patel and his staff have provided the most pleasant experience I have ever received from a Physicians office. Previous doctors have made me feel like just another patient on a conveyor belt - whereas Dr Patels attentive and caring nature has made me feel truly 'seen' as a human with health concerns, not just another patient. 10/10 Would recommend anyone in the Dorchester area looking for a new physician to try Dr Patel! Also the interior design in his office is superb, neat, and clean.

Dr. Patel and his staff genuinely care about their patients and their well being. Everyone is always friendly and I’ve never felt like just another number. He truly goes above and beyond to make sure the patient experience is the best it can be and your medical needs get the attention you feel they deserve.

Doctor Patel have been my family's PCP for years, and we are very fortunate to have him as our PCP. He is very kind, thorough and listens attentively. Dr. Patel was fantastic. Took extra time to talk through my medical history and current health. Genuinely caring and emotionally intelligent. It’s hard to find doctors nowadays that can be fully present in a conversation and treat you as a living, breathing person. Fantastic doctor, I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Patel. Very good in establishing a strong relationship, extremely trustworthy. Very personable too. Through our conservations, my understanding is that Dr. Patel is up-to-date with recent research in multiple domains of personal interest. Hence, I have total confidence in his diagnostics and opinions. Took me a while to find my "personal doctor"... Glad I found him... And as a cherry on the top of the cake, his staff is fantastic and very personable! Always a pleasure to go there for my annual visits!
