This place is incredible! My kids and I spent an entire day exploring and didn’t even get to see everything. Their favorite spot was were the water crossed the road and turned into a waterfall. They played in the creek for hours! The park is so clean and offers a lot for hikers, walkers, bikers, etc.

Having grown up in Akron and then moving to Columbus has made me appreciate Sand Run so much more! The trails here are wonderful with a lot of variety. You can see small waterfalls, traverse rocky inclines, or get lost deep in the woods and feel like you're a million miles from civilization. The bugs also seem to leave you alone, even when you're near the water. Since moving to Columbus, I've been trying to find similar trails but haven't even come close. All the trails I've found so far are paved and usually in flat areas with prairie grasses. Few trees or rivers, boring landscape, and there is always a parking lot nearby. Plus you can't go on a simple walk without inhaling gnats or finding a tick on your leg. I'll be visiting Sand Run every time I'm in town 💚

It's my home park. It starts right behind my house. Love this small hilly urban getaway. It's a great park for hiking, walking or even just driving through slowly.

Good trails, with a lot of greenery and also water. A good park to spend time at, hike , play and have fun. Walking in water along with trails is highly enjoyable. Some times even get to see a tortoise, as posted in the pictures :P Always a fun spot and will be glad to visit again.

Sand Run is a wonderful area with lots of great hiking. Its main downside is that they allow woodburning in their rental lodges and leaf blowing in the park. So instead of breathing fresh air, you are left to breathe lung damaging wood smoke and exhaust. I wish they honored the health of their hikers and runners and let us breathe only the fresh healthy air we came outside for.

Opening in 1929, Sand Run is Summit County's oldest metro park! The 995 acre park has over 15 miles of trails and is a local favorite. In addition to hiking, the park has areas for sledding, trails for cross country skiing, and ice skating.

This place was beautiful? Breathtaking views and clean trails. We went on a trail that had a pretty good incline but it was great.

Really enjoyed our walk today. The trails are nice, clean and paths are clear for the most part. There were several fallen branches, but my kids had fun picking them up and I'm sure the runners were appreciative of that. Scenery is always beautiful in the Metro Parks and we were able to capture some of it.

We had a great snowy hike! They have a great sledding hill too! The trail we chose was Dogwood Trail. It’s rated difficult and the snow and ice made it a little more challenging. We went on other trails too and enjoyed them all. The trails are all marked very well and easy to follow. We brought trash bags with us to pick up trash and didn’t find much. It’s a very clean park. We will be back and bring our sleds next time!!

Such a beautiful place! This is my first summer exploring my new city. I was born and raised in Utah and am new to the area. Akron has many beautiful Metro Parks. The little one had the idea and I am so glad we went. The river was low, so we hiked up stream. Very clean and relaxing. We will be back for sure! I cannot wait to check out more Metro Parks this summer.

We hiked part of the Mingo trail. It was a difficult hike, but even my grandsons (3-1/2, 4, 7, and 9 years old) were able to keep up. My dog liked it, too.

Its so pretty to do the trails here when the leaves are starting to fall. Our dog just loves it too

Beautiful trail system, well maintained, some public restrooms (outhouses) scattered here and there around parking areas, lots of chipmunks and squirrels! The only complaint is we could smell the outhouses from quite a distance.

Great place to take the dogs for a walk. Very nice walking trails, some are more strenuous.

Awesome trails! I like the way they connect to so many other trails in the area.

Beautiful scenery. Clear paths and respectful people. Walking and biking both were relaxing and enjoyable experience. I’ve walked my dog a few times and he’s never had an issue. The bathrooms for the most part are clean and well Kept

One of my all-time favorite parks local to northeast Ohio to hike. 6+ miles of improved paths and easily 10+ miles of rugged trails. Abundant bathrooms and drinking fountains along the improved path and picnic/recreation areas for those in need.

Great jogging trail (no bicycles allowed so a great trail to run on!) and hiking trails along with multiple parking lots and bathrooms.

What a wonderful piece of paradise so close by. Plenty of parking, restrooms and drinking fountains, groomed trails or more rustic hilly sections. Keep looking around - the deer are there if you look for them!

BUSY! I WAS SURPRISED HOW MANY RUNNERS WERE OUT THAT EARLY IN THE MORNING. ALL AGE. NNO MASKS IF THAT'S SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO BOTHER YOU. IT WAS HOT. THE WALK WAS PLEASANT. THE PARK HAS NOT BEEN KEPT UP LIKE PREVIOUSKY. TRAILS ARE PASSABLE BUT THE HILLSIDES HAVE OVER GROWTH. KIDS AND ADULTS ON BIKES SURE WHAT THAT WAS ABOUT AS THIS IS A NO BIKES ON TRAILS PARK. TODAY A 3

Park was very nicely kept and the trail I was on was well maintained and the signs were easy to follow. It was a fun trail run and I plan on going back when it's a little less muddy.

This place is very interesting. The path winds through the hills in a fairytale-like manner. Even in late fall it was beautiful. Quiet except for the shoom of small waterfalls.

Great place to finish the burning river 100 mile race

Did the dogwood trail 1.9 mile loop, was a well marked trail that was easy to follow, with some great nature views along the way. Definitely earned its difficult rating with some very steep dirt trail areas.

Really enjoyed a little Spring walk, trying to help rehabilitate my dog after a stroke. She's doing so much better keeping with the regular things that are special for her and me and routine.

The best area park for a variety of trails to walk or run. You can do anything from a mile to several. Trails are in great shape. For a challenge, run Mingo and Dog Wood and the Par Course for around an 8 mile run up and down some big hills.

Sand Run Metro Park never disappoints. Pleasant and beautiful. Great for running and walking the trails. Lovely foliage in the spring, summer and fall. Good for family picnics and fun. All around Sand Run is a great park for everyone.
