The place is good. The food tastes good. The service was quick. They have good veg and non veg options.I really liked their chicken momos. You can also ask them to adjust the spice level and also the meat options can be asked to customize. However I only have a feedback on hygiene l wish the wine glasses were better cleaned and not smell also the cleaning process and leaving the cleaning tub on the guests tables can be taken care off.Otherwise everything is good.

Former Everest employee I previously worked for this Everest on grand and I feel obligated to give my honest opinion and truth about the company! “Warning” this my be disturbing 1. Unsanitary A. various meats particularly the Poultry after cooked is left in large lexicons (bins), that are placed on the ground all shift! Not marinating, but waiting to be heated up again and served! !!!RED ZONE ALERT!!! (Food has less than 2 hrs at room temp to be refrigerated) B. Unfortunately the workers haven’t been trained on food safety, and food hold times, what might be tradition to them, could be harmful to others! C. Raw meat should always be covered! Unfortunately the meat is usually left out uncovered in the walk-in coolers after processed! Meat typically goes on the bottom in a food safe regulated kitchen, in Everest’s case, the meat goes anywhere! 2. The Cooks A. I can truly say, Everest did one thing right by having their people cook their food! (Tibetans) but I must honestly say, those cooks were some of the rudest individuals I’ve ever encountered in my 15 years working in restaurant! I understand language barriers can be challenging, But this is not the case. I had one worker come from the kitchen, Slam a Large pot in front of my face, Looked me dead in my eyes and told me “Clean Now” 😅😳. B. I would use my manners still, hoping eventually it would catch on with the crew, but unfortunately I didn’t gain that. Instead, the more I killed with Kindness, the more upset I would come. I truly felt because I was letting my guard down and not demanding respect from these folks, I was the one ultimately feeling like these people were heartless. I know that I’m different and they were probably getting tired of new people coming in and out of their kitchen. The owner wasn’t actually a bad dude, him and his wife were very respectful and paid me on time! But if the Dept of Health came and did a inspection, during the time I worked there, I would of have B-lined it towards the exit, while scratching the back of my head! The food is Authentic because real Tibetans actually cook the food, it will taste good! It will look good! But Safe??? Your just gonna have to let your immune system figure that out! For each is own! They give us a free meal during break, so the first week me being a human and very hungry would instinctively walk to the buffet, and load up a plate. By the time I left the job I wouldn’t feed a Meat Momo to my Dog. I had seen enough! And enough was enough for me! I hope this helps

I dunno what to say. I have been coming here since 2006 or so but had moved outta town in 2021. I was excited to come for lunch last week but was honestly disappointed. Quality is down and prices are way up. Menu is smaller than I remember. My mango lassi was half the size of other places. My lamb was dry. That with nann cost over 40 dollars. I won’t be back for a while. Hope it was just a fluke.

Everest has been there for 20 years! Yet it took us until tonight to visit. Wow! We have been missing out! The food was delicious! We started with Yak Momos which are a steamed dumpling filled with MN raised Yak meat and spices. Absolutely fabulous! Then we had the Palak Paneer and Lamb Chhoyla with Garlic Naan. The Palak Paneer (vegetarian dish with spinach and paneer [cheese]) was smooth and creamy. The Chhoyla ( lamb cooked with sliced peppers and onions) was flavorful and spicy! We can't wait to go try more of their offerings!

You don't need to climb this Everest just "because it's there". The flavors are definitely a big enough draw. In my opinion this is the best Indian/Tibetan food in St. Paul. The curries and momos are absolutely phenomenal. The only thing on the menu I would say isn't amazing is their bread, which is still pretty good but I've had better at other places. Still, I love it and I will keep coming back for more. Would recommend.

I have tried most of the items on the menu and have identified my favorites. Today I tried the pork choylla and found it really good, although I believe the chicken choylla beats it in my opinion. The portion was very generous and meaty, although I probably would have preferred more vegetables. I like my dishes quite spicy and this dish is available at all levels of spiciness. The choylla is unique to Nepalese and Tibetan fare but many of the other items are similar to Indian food but with subtle differences in the spices used. Unfortunately, the buffet is not available at this time due to the pandemic but is a great way to sample many items a little at a time (or to gorge on favorites). Their hot sauce is one of the top 10 I've tried (all my subjective opinion) and is not only very hot but really flavorful. I'll be back as often as possible considering that there are lots of other restaurants to explore.

My favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities by far. My boyfriend showed me this place and I've loved it ever since, we even come here for ever anniversary. While on the priceier side, I can always get two meals out of whatever I purchase. Every time anyone asks me for a restaurant recommendation, this is the first name out of my mouth. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere.

I tried the Kathal (tender jackfruit) curry. It's a rare dish. The food tasted great. Really good Kathal to curry ratio. The place has a very homely vibe.

Food is fantastic. Service is just as good. My wife and I were able to hang out with the owners kids while we ate. This made the experience much better, made it feel likehome.

My partner took us for date night after hearing recommendations from coworkers. From that one meal, I was so impressed that I wanted to go weekly if we could. We're maybe settling for every other week and our next trip is tomorrow! After talking with friends, they also shared it's in the top 4 of their favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities area - and he works as a well established professional chef in the area.

The food here is great. It’s a lot like Indian food but obviously it’s got its own special characteristics. The staff were inviting and attentive. Great place, would definitely go again !

They up their prices on DoorDash and the portions are small. 26 dollars for a single Tikka Masala. Spent all together 75 dollars and the portions were so small I couldn’t share with my co workers. I talked to the man at the restaurant and he said that they have to charge higher prices because of door dash. In store it’s 21 dollars. I said he should put a disclaimer for people letting them know the prices are inflated and he just kept telling me no one has a problem with the prices. I’ve ordered door dash from other local restaurants and they don’t up the prices on items. First time getting food from this place and it will be the last. I feel ripped off not knowing what the actual prices are and offended with the portions. The man didn’t try to refund me or even ask what he could do. DO NOT DOORDASH!

My goodness, this place is an absolute unit of deliciousness. I enjoy the sauces, and momos. We come here a few times a year to not get tired of the food. It is our favorite restaurant on grand Ave. The vegetarian options are amazing, and the meat is juicy and tender. The staff is friendly and cares about your experience. If you get angry here I suggest you stick to McDonald's or Gas station food.

Where else can you get a yak momo? That alone makes Everest worth it. Succulent little dumplings make this tire fire of a world seem a bit more friendly, worthwhile. Good everything, great some things. Pakora, tandoori dishes, momos are my favorite.

First time trying this place and we really wanted to like it since we live in the neighborhood. We ordered 2 beers which the service staff had later poured water into and didn’t offer to replace the beer. Didn’t apologize, nothing. Naan came out raw in the middle. I asked the server to re-make and they did. We ordered the goat curry and the lamb curry and they were just okay. Considering the $25 price point for each curry and the smaller portion size, I would say it’s not worth it.

One of the worst places for Nepali and Indian food. The curries are very bland. The Momo filling is bad! The momo cook was even worse, the Momo sauce is yuck! felt like vomiting it out. This place serves some of the worst quality Naan breads, and their Naan are most expensive compared to the average. Total waste of money if you order Naan from this restaurant. The buffet is useless, and so is their service. I had it in 2018. The owner replied to me saying its a fake review. Please give me one reason to post fake reviews. I personally went in and tasted your buffet many time before covid. Also, I just ordered Naan and Momo today afternoon from you. Check your sales system. This is 100% genuine review. Your naan and momo is in my Garbage. Both tasted awful. This place really needs to improve their food quality and taste if they want to survive. Highly disappointed, Not recommended at all.

Nepalese, Indian & Himalayan food exquisitely prepared and sumptuous. If I lived closer this would be a weekly stop. As it is I'll try to come every time I visit the twin cities. Great service, and a friendly staff, serving up generous portions of wonderfully flavorful dishes. Try it you'll like it!

Jimney Crickets I liked this place. Everything was amazing. My ego got the best of me when I ordered a 5 out of 6 for spicy. My waitress suggested I go lower, but I insisted. The dish still had amazing flavor but my mouth was on fire.... turns out, I enjoyed the burn. I will come back next week and try the 6. Love this place

The flavor and spices here are amazing. I like my food quite spicy and this is one of the few places that can actually deliver. The food is satisfying, filling and delicious. The food is (understandably) a little pricy, which is probably good, otherwise I'd eat here everyday! I highly suggest you try it. The menu has a good variety of options including vegan and even yak meat. The yak meat momo was actually very tasty. One of the top restaurants in Saint Paul if you ask me.

This place is awesome! The food is great, and the service is top notch! They are very, very dietary- restrictions friendly. My sister, who cannot eat gluten or dairy was able to select from a number of menu items, instead of being limited to just one or two items like at most restaurants. I wish I lived in this area, I'd be a regular patron.

Not a great place if you're on a budget, most entrees are more than $15 even the vegetarian ones. You'll get somewhat smaller portions as well so now you know. You can blame inflation, you can blame the neighborhood, etc... If you're not on a budget you'll enjoy many really flavorful dishes that can be mild or super spicy and really tasty! It's very different cooking than most everyday cooking so come if you want to surprise your taste buds.

It must be the location that makes stuff cost more than it should. $22 just for chicken Tikka masala which wasn't anything more special than you'd find elsewhere for $16. The wait after ordering on a Friday night was over an hour so they must be short staffed. I think they were handling to go orders as the priority. Food was fine, just a long wait and you'll pay for it.

The place is a little sad. Too basic and mediocre. But for a quick lunch between two friends, it was ok. We had chicken, lamb, garbanzo bean, 1 slice of bread, and 1 beer. More than 80$? with a tip almost 95$! Are you serious? Portions were small, a micro table with the restaurant empty, a poor napkin... Nothing special about the food. My first and last time there. Bye.

Great authentic spot in a calm area, good street parking access. The food came out pretty fast for a party of 3+ If you love spicy food, this place offers a great range of spice from 1-6 levels of increasing spice. Stick to levels 2 and below for little to no spice. Great variety of options for vegetarian, vegan, and meat proteins.

This was my first experience with Nepalese food and it was so tasty. My husband and I split a 6 piece veg momo and a chicken Thukpa. The momo was flavorful and the pastry had a great texture. Really enjoyed the special momo sauce. The Thukpa was delicious. We had a 2 spice level. Enough for a little heat but not overwhelming. The chicken was so tender and there was plenty of veggies and noodles. The naan was perfect to soak up the soup broth. Service was also good, friendly and waters were always filled. Food came out timely. Overall a good experience!

A great place for vegan Tibetan/Nepal/Indian food! The veggie Momo is amazing!! It’s not all vegan so be sure the double check on the menu! They use good quality ingredients and everything tastes authentic!

First vegan eating experience and it was very flavorful. The menus have a variety options and are clearly labeled. I ordered the Geda-gudi and Roti which were an enjoyable set. I also ordered the Ladoo for dessert which was a nice treat. I personally enjoyed the latest evening atmosphere, where it had a soothing atmosphere and was a fun date night. My partner ordered the lamb curry, didn't find it spicy enough but found it very filling.

The food was really disappointing. Tasteless, and definitely not cheap. By far my worst Indian/ Nepalese food experience. The staff is nice though. But it all comes down to food, so one star is generous. My friend and I found it horrible, so not just me.

The food here is incredible!! Wasn't sure what to expect, but walked out feeling so satisfied. It's on a corner off Grand Ave and pretty easy to find and lots of free street parking and a little parking lot in the back. We ordered the veg momos, lamb Curry, Palak Paneer, and garlic naan. I would highly recommend all of these choices. The veg momos were like little homeade dumplings and came with a fresh sauce (you can choose an order of 6 or 10), the lamb in the lamb curry was extremely tender and we chose a mild+ spice level (would choose 1 spice level higher next time as mild+ wasn't too spicy at all), Palak (aka spinach) paneer was one of our favorites and great to dip the naan in! The lamb Curry and palak paneer came with basmati rice. You could tell everything was freshly made as it took awhile to come out and was hot but it was definitely worth the wait. There were 3 of us that split these dishes and it was plenty of food and the perfect combination of tastes. We ate it all with no leftovers. Service was just ok. Our waitress didn't come back to our table after we ordered the food so our water never got refilled and we had to ask another waiter for our bill, but like I said, the food and flavors of everything makes up for it. Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.

Everest. Delicious and generous. Don't look through the windows and the inside certainly takes you to Nepal. The ambiance, decoration and even the servers. Not the best service but not the worst. They certainly try and mean well. The food, is amazing! Tastefully and the options are so versatile. Comfort. Come in hungry. Enjoy your company and the food. Worth a trip back!!

Although the food was decent, when ordering takeout, we were charged $45 dollars for this amount of food to be delivered. $17.19 for 12-16 oz of one dish, $5.69 for 3oz of sauce, $17.19 for 16oz of another dish, and $4.60 for a single samosa. The price point to food quantity is not reasonable at all. Would not recommend.

  • 5/5 Kimberly K. 3 years ago on Google
This is the best food I have ever eaten in my life. I would give them ten stars if I could. 10 out of 5 stars... that's how good those momos and naan are.

Our favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities! First time back since Covid and the food is still as fresh and amazing as ever! Keep supporting incredible local businesses like this one!

  • 5/5 Andrew N. 3 years ago on Google
Excellent food. The vegetarian options are great, even for a carnivore like me. The momo are delicious little dumplings, almost like soup dumplings, and so intensely savory. Do not skip the momo. Yak is just a different kind of cow. Yummy. I have never had a bad lamb dish there and now I have eaten all of them. If they have the Kathmandu coffee, get it. Don't even hesitate. Their lassi are excellent, creamy and vibrant and so refreshing.

One of the more wholesome culinary experiences in the cities. I haven’t had a dish from here that wasn’t delicious in several years. Dined there last night and was just blown away by the samosa chat. Seriously, get it. Also, get any side sauces you can get your hands on. They’re all incredible.

The meat momo and pork chhoyla were AMAZING. Seriously, so tasty. The veggie curry (we got the matar tofu) was pretty bland. A bit pricey, but I'd go back for the chhoyla and momo for sure.

We absolutely love their food. It is unquestionably delicious! We ate there one time before Covid and it was a comfy atmosphere, too. But, when you're doing takeout, make sure to check your order before you leave-- especially if you have a popular or common name. We just got home & unpacked the bag to find out we got the food that someone else named "Matthew" ordered, and not the food we were looking forward to. It's an understandable mixup, and they're replacing our original order (which we really, really appreciate!), but it's an extra trip and it was a disappointing discovery. Learn from our mistakes! Although we would've preferred to have it on the first trip, the chicken tikka is absolutely worth it!

Don't order the chicken wings. You'll get drumsticks instead. The first time it happened I gave them a pass. It happened again today. Neither time did they call to tell me they were out of wings.
