What an amazing and prosperous part of Britain which is ruled by a nation that respects the rights of those who live there and gives them the choice of government. Rule Britannia. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

One of the highlights of my trip back down south to pay tribute to those still on patrol far from home. A beautifully designed and maintained memorial for all those who lost their lives in the return of the islands to the people of the Falklands

I served in the RAMC, but I was not one that went to war in this land so far away from home, however it nice to see that the memorial is well looked after and that the names are remembered. I spent some time there thinking about the lives that were lost, and the struggle that we have on a daily basis to fight for, thank you brave men and women that served and gave for freedom.

I'm proud to be British, I'm proud my father fought in this war and I'm proud we stood against those who tried to take what is rightfully ours. Good will always defeat evil. The falklands will always be ours πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Fantastic memorial dedicated to those who fought to free the Falklands from the ignorant; those who believe that land should be theirs simply due to geographical proximity...

The 1982 Liberation Memorial is a war memorial in Stanley, Falkland Islands. It commemorates all British Forces and supporting units that served in the Falklands War and helped liberate the Falkland Islanders from Argentine military occupation in 1982. The Memorial is situated in front of the Secretariat Building, overlooking Stanley Harbour. The funds for the Memorial were raised entirely by Falkland Islanders and it was unveiled by the Governor of the Falkland Islands, Sir Rex Hunt, on Liberation Day (14 June) 1984, the second anniversary of the end of the war.

Wonderful memorial to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Beautifully maintained and in a rightfully prominent position in the city of Stanley.

A great monument for the brave British warriors who travelled thousands of miles to defeat the fascist argentine invaders. A reminder to them to never mess with us EVER again!!

Being on a Viking Cruise Bucket List Cruise has been incredible. We had to pinch ourselves to make sure we were on the actual Falkland Islands. Our guide Phil led us through the 1982 war/conflict history that cost the lives of so many and created PTSD even in civilian residents. Standing in front of this memorial was sobering, and yet to see the care and evidence of daily visits was encouraging. Gaining the insights of Argentina Patagonia guide Sabrina and Chilean Puerto Arenas perspectives only solidifies the need for us all to realize all land belongs to God, and we need only to love our brother as ourself.

Very moving to be able to pay my respects here. This memorial is truly fitting to those who paid the ultimate price for freedom.
