We had a quiet visit on a Thursday afternoon. Only one other person was there besides the guard. We had to show our Covid safe pass. It was free. Fun to look around!

I should start with the fact that the Hala Sultan Tekke is idyllic in a beautiful location on the shores of a Salt Lake. The Mosque can only be entered with a covered body (no shorts! No short skirts! Covered shoulders, covered knees). The garden and buildings around are well kept. The Mosque itself is beautiful on the outside, and inside you can feel the spirit of prayers. I recommend to see.

Very peaceful. And it’s free. But please follow the rules of clothing. It says clearly no shorts & sleeveless. I saw many people not allowed inside due to dress code. So do read up before you make a trip.

It's a nice enough mosque and religiously very important. However I found it a little underwhelming. Need to taxi here from city center, but there is parking on site if you have a car. Free to enter. Located on the Salt Lake which is nice. Lots of stray cats.

Very nice and peaceful place and worth the detour if you’re around Larnaca Airport. A good thing to keep in mind is that you have to be dressed properly. Only high neck t-shirts, long pants and long dresses are allowed in. Make sure you do not show up in swimwear, shorts or skirts.

A nice peaceful place near the salt lake. Worth a look round, but there's not a massive amount to see unless you're a Muslim, in which case it's an important religious site. There is a good walkway round the lake, which you can use to see the flamingos (bring binoculars, or a camera with a proper zoom lens). The walkway starts in the SE corner of the mosque car park, it's not signposted. Entry is free, it opens at 08:30 sharp.

You need to be covered up! The security at the entrance is very friendly. Interesting architecture. There are a lot of cats that live there happily and are well taken care of

One of the holiest places of islam in the Mediterranean, definitely a very beautiful place with amazing nature around it. There are specific openings hours to get inside but even of its closed its wort s visit. Amazing place to see the sunset and take pictures with the reflection of the salt lake. There are even flamingos in the lake during their migration period.

The dress code is not acceptable at all in the 21st century. The trees are nice, the surroundings are pleasant, but the lake is ugly.

So peaceful. Just come with cloth that covers your legs and arms. That’s their strict policy that should be respected. The place is so clean and well maintained

Very beautiful place. Nice nature around and the architect style is very special and pretty. It's just next to the salt lake. You can easier walk to the lake and watch flamigos from there. In front of the musk there is a lady feeding cats, soooo many cats there, quite impress. I like how the locals here treat animals, so sweet! In general its a very nice location to visit, when you are in Larnaca, make sure to have a look!

It is one of the most famous touristic attractions in Larnaca. It is located near Salt Lake. Usually, you will need 20 minutes to 30 minutes to visit it. There is no restaurant or coffee shop around.take care from dressing code if you want to enter inside.

I was there on the 24th of December and, unfortunately, it was closed… I didn’t find anything about it and not only me, but many people who came after me. But I can’t take stars away anyways, because of how important and beautiful this place is. But would really want to see some words on the Internet when it will be closed…

The place is nice, they can do better in cleaning and the “attention” sentence in Arabic is completely wrong! Please note that you can not enter the mosque if you are wearing shorts (for men and women). My husband couldn’t enter and waited outside.

Hala Sultan mosque is of a religious significance for Muslims as it houses the tomb of 'Umm e Haram' who was married to one of prophet Muhammad's(PBUH) companions and was close to his family. The mosque is located by the Salt lake with scenic views of the lake & palm trees outside.

Beautiful mosque and can be easily combined while visiting the Salt Lake. When visiting make sure that both men and women are appropriately dressed. Long pants for both and arms covered. There are no facilities to buy this around.

I visited this place first time in 2011, that time I was walking on foot from Larnaca around salt lake, in that time it was like spiritual journey (short track there from Larnaca is nice during winter months). Place is worth your visit, but you will spend there like 15min. View on salt lake is nice and mosque story is interesting, place was dedicated to woman who is martyr and also personal friend of Mohamed. She died for her faith in salt lake, because of this its prohibited to go or drive car in lake.

Ancient and interesting mosque with intriguing history. By the mosque, Umm Haram's grave. Sittin in a trenquile garden, just by the salt lake, very nice view. Staff is nice and friendly.

Situated quite nicely along a shallow lake. Stunning sunset views. Also: Many cats! But a little eery when quiet esp given the notices to make sure to leave no valuables in your car during your visit.. Visit lasted less than 20 minutes.

Worth a visit if you're in the area. Larger parking and picnic area at the top of the road, more pull in places on the approach with a car park on site. Well established path to walk down around the salt lake with a view of the flamingos when they are there. Free entry. Ensure you're wearing appropriate clothes for a mosque & shoes should be removed if going inside. Beautiful place.

Interesting piece of history, you can’t enter wearing shorts, there is no entry fee and it’s filled with cats!

Serene mosque. Place of reflection but bear in mind to observe mosque etiquette. Modest clothing no bare shoulders and covered (PAST KNEES). Pin drop silence and lots of cats seem to ‘guard’ over the resting place of the Prophets SWT Foster mother.

It is a special place in many ways and definitely worth visiting but make sure that you wear long pants (cover your knees and shoulders).

A beautiful well kept place next to the salt lakes. The Hala Sultan Tekkesi is an excellent monument to visit on any day of the week. You will need to dress appropriately as is a place of worship with no shoulders showing, no shorts. The place is well kept, with a nice garden and clean and tidy spaces. The history of the place it goes back hundred of years and the princess is buried there. There are also other religious burials there too. There are also an older ancient settlement on the side. The place is free to visit and there is a free parking just outside. The staff are friendly and they did answered my questions.

One of still operated and important Muslim mosques, build in 1816 on a place where, according to a legend, the aunt of Muhammad died. Worth seeing on your first day in Larnaca, as it is 5 minutes away from the airport by car.

Nice mosque, beautiful view. Remember to cover your knees when entering, shorts are not allowed. They do not provide anything for you to cover

Nice place with a salt lake close by Note you should wear appropriate clothes to enter it- your knees and shoulders should be covered, so no sleeveless tops, minis or shorts

It’s a must stop when you’re in Larnaca, it’s such a beautiful place. Expect to be welcomed by dozens of cats though ;)

You should update the app scancov, my daughter's recovery safe pass wasn't allowed because of the old cellphone or the app (but it has been accepted half hour later at the mall and after that at McDonald's) so we went there for nothing

  • 1/5 Cornelia b. 2 years ago on Google
It's far away from the city and in December it's no direct bus. You should take 425 bus to the airport and walk 4,5 km. The mosque it's a place for worship but unpleasant for tourists. No one tells you nothing and looks like an unpleasant old place.

  • 5/5 Chris X. 2 years ago on Google
Nice historical place to visit when going around the lake. You can also go inside the mosque.
