River Oaks is, without a doubt, the most professional veterinary practice I have used in my 50+ years as a pet owner. The entire staff is kind and caring and their love for animals, and concern for owners, is obvious the moment you walk in the door and throughout the entire appointment process. A+ to all.

Just had my gorgeous boy Krueger neutered and as always the River Oaks Animal Hospital Team was exceptional!! From the time I dropped off in the morning with the welcoming love he got as we walked in, keeping me updated during the day of his progress and when I picked him up they give me a typed up note from his perspective of his big day. LOVE IT! They always go above and beyond. Thank you to everyone there for taking such wonderful care of my boy!

I just moved to the area and needed a new vet for my senior cats. Everyone was very friendly and they took their time which I really appreciated. They also kept my cats in the room for the blood tests and didn’t take them “ back” which was great, I think my cats were less traumatized and they even gave them treats. It was definitely a much better experience than I could have even expected.

We were referred to River Oaks by my regular vet to get acupuncture for our Maddie. We saw Dr. Maggie Smith and she was incredible!! Dr. Smith really listens and will treat your pet holistically and conventionally. Maddie has a few underlying issues and cannot always tolerate conventional treatment. Maddie had her first treatment on Friday and it went very well. The cost of the treatment was VERY reasonable and we are going back in two weeks. The staff at River Oaks couldn’t have been nicer!! Great energy all around!!! We are very thankful Dr. Jenn from CFVH recommended Dr. Smith!!!

We were here on vacation and our baby ate some sand. From the moment I called to the second I brought our dog to the vet they showed so much care. They took care of my doggie baby all day and flushed his bowel and took the best care of him. They were so sweet to me and knew my name every time I called and walked in the door. I can’t thanks the advocates, nurses and doctors for taking such great care of my Grizz.

Great vet! I think we have seen almost all of the doctors here and they are all wonderful. My Shih Tzu loves them and several of the vets have Shih Tzus of their own so they know the breed. Can’t say enough good things about them and their staff is phenomenal!

River Oaks Animal Hospital is great! I bring our 5 dogs there for wellness check-ups as well as when they are ill. The team there is very friendly and very service oriented and the doctors are great and explain everything very clearly and thoroughly - wouldn't go anywhere else...

River Oaks Animal Hospital is very professional. I took my 12-week-old German Shepherd in for a checkup and River Oaks gave me Sasha's paw print from her first visit. That was pretty awesome. I would definitely recommend River Oaks Animal Hospital!

The staff at River Oaks Animal Hospital are the best! From the time you walk into the building you are greeted in a friendly manner. They treat your fur baby like they would treat their own. They are very compassionate and really want to take care of your pets condition with such kindness. A bit pricey but it's well worth it to have them get the best care around. Would highly recommend them.

I can’t say enough good things about River Oaks Animal Hospital. I have a rescue hound who is very anxious and they have exceeded my expectations!!!! They are 100% a fear free vet. They brought him cheese and peanut butter, loved on him until he was comfortable enough to come out of his shell! Duke also has anxiety with food- so the fact that he ate it was shocking. He felt so comfortable with Loren!!! Kira, Loren and Dr. Meg were all so incredible to me, my boyfriend and Duke. My dog didn’t even move during his vaccinations- I was so shocked and happy! Not to mention the prices??? They are AMAZING. They understood I was on a budget and didn’t push me at all. Dr. Meg reassured me!! Thank you thank you thank you !!!🥰😇 They’re also near Dunkin so my dog is no longer mad at me. 10/10

We absolutely LOVE River Oaks Animal Hospital! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! The rooms are clean and well maintained! Would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful vet experience! They are so great and relaxing there, that my puppy felt the need to take a nap right on the exam table 😍

I love River Oaks Animal Hospital! Just had my baby there for annual check up/shots. Anet and Dr. Meg were great with Bentley! There was one more tech that helped Anet but unfortunately I didn’t get her name. They were all wonderful from start to finish! Highly recommended!

Professional, compassionate and flexible. I was very impressed with my first visit to River Oaks. Although it was not on the greatest terms, as am new to the area and they had never met me or my dog. I had to put my sweet 16 year old to sleep. Being a former vet tech for 20 years, I know how hard this moment is. The staff was extremely caring and patient with me. The Doctor was professional and competent, double checking with me to make sure I was doing the right thing. Even though I had never met anyone there, they made me feel like family on one of the most hardest days of my life. I will definitely be using them for my other dog. Thank you River Oaks staff for your kindness and warmth.

The whole crew just loves your pet like their own. They will give you options for any treatment, but will not get pushy like other vets. Don't get me wrong they will still advise on options.

Honestly the best vet I have ever taken a pet to. Every single member of the staff is extremely kind not only to people, but the animals as well. Great for nervous dogs and puppies because they take their time and go at the dogs pace and don’t push them. They are always willing to answer any questions and always explain everything very well. Phone calls, emails, and prescription refill requests are always answered in a timely manner. Can usually get an appointment within a good time frame and don’t have to wait weeks. Pricing is very fair. It’s also always very clean and never smells bad. Overall love the staff and I can really tell that they treat the animals right and care about their wellbeing. We need more vet clinics like this and with staff like this.

I took my Ruthie and Holly Berrie to River Oaks Animal Hospital for their annual physical and vaccines. We experienced the most congenial staff and thorough evaluation. I highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic.

It was my first time taking our sweet baby to the vet and I was really happy how nice and friendly the entire staff was. Dr. Heather was absolutely amazing and answered all my questions. They also sent me an email talking about our visit and what I should do. I had a few questions and you can call, txt or email and they get right back with you as fast as they can. I noticed within 48 hours how much better my baby girl was feeling and they made my fur baby feel like she was their favorite animal. Highly recommend.

This was my first time using River Oaks Animal Hospital sinve we moved to Carolina Forest. I was able to get an appointment for Scout very quickly and the staff and Dr. Meg were great. They will now be the vet that I will use in the future.

Extremely happy with River Oaks Veterinary, Dr. Tacy and staff. They are always compassionate, make themselves available whenever I call, and I don't need to wait weeks for a "sick" appointment. Some other vets in the area only hold two sick appointments and you need to call first thing in the morning with the hope of securing one of the spots and if not, you are out of luck or need to wait weeks to be seen. River Oaks understands the importance of being seen when something is wrong. They are customer service focused and always love up on my fur babies to assure they are comfortable when being seen too! Highly recommend them!

My dog was coughing for two days and I called River Oaks. They told me to come in immediately and it was uphill from there. The staff were amazing and very friendly. They explained everything to me and wasn't rushed. I got him checked out and got some meds and was sent home feeling very much relieved. Would recommend.

This is hands down the best vet office at the beach. My dogs have seen a few of the different veterinarians at this practice and it has always been a great experience. This past visit my pup saw Dr. Williamson, he was very caring and attentive to my pets needs and took the time to listen to all of my concerns. We will always be grateful to this office for taking such great care of our animals!

River Oaks Animal Hospital is fantastic!! This was my first visit with my new pup and felt like family immediately walking through the door, there was even a Welcome board with my pups name as a first time patient. The front staff was cordial and engaging, the medical assistant was informative and patient with my many, many questions and Dr Heather was second to none! She was caring and listened to me rambling on and even took the time to get to know me and Coco. Even when I called the office to ask questions before booking, the gal that answered the phone spent 20 minutes answering all of my questions. I highly recommend this vet and they have a family for life in us!! This group cares and is definitely not just about the Almighty Dollar!

I had a great experience with this animal hospital. Not only were they quick and efficient, but the pricing was great. The staff are so kind and show they care to help. This will be my vet from now on! So happy with my visit and my fur baby is just as happy as well. They even called a few days later to check up! Amazing. Went to coastal veterinarian care, had a bad experience would avoid that location, esp if you have a big dog.

We have used river oaks animal hospital for over 7 yrs and still love everything about them from staff to Dr's. Dr Heather Duncan is one of a kind, most amazing person and vet you will ever meet. Can not say enough good things about this practice. Highly recommend

Hands down the best vets in the area. I have taken my pittie to 2 other vets, one brought him out covered in anal gland fluid, handed me a baby wipe and told me to deal with it, another vet from a differnt office refused to come near my dog unless I put a towel over his head first, told me how visious and aggressive my boy was, even though she'd been in a room with him for less than 30 seconds, literally walked in looked at my boy and told me this, said that he was going to attack her if I didn't put a towel on his head, he was literally just sitting at my feet, not growling, snarling, barking or anything that would suggest what she was trying to say would happen.. river oaks vets are so kind, and loving to my boy, they treat him like the big baby he is and know what a gentle, if large, boy he is and have always gone above and beyond to assure his visits are a good experience for him..
