We picked up a takeout order from Mis Raices in Teaneck, NJ. The food here is YUMMY! :) This is a “go to” place for Arroz Con Pollo, Rice and Beans, Empanadas, etc. It is authentic Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine. This was our first pick up since the current COVID pandemic restrictions, but not our first visit ever. We’ve ordered at least two dozen times but realized that I never wrote a review. This time, we ordered Arroz con Pollo (rice with chicken) and red beans, Empanadas (our favorites are beef and cheese, chicken and cheese, beef, or plain cheese), alcapurria (a fried fritter filled with yuca and ground beef), and Chicharron de Cerdo (fried pork chunks) with rice and gandules. Everything was DELICIOUS, FRESH, and MOIST!! It was the first time we tried alcapurria and I really wished we ordered a bunch instead of one! I didn’t get to take a picture of it because we shared it in the car- it smelled so good and tasted even better! We will definitely return to Mis Raices for more “yummy in the tummy” food!

We had an office party and had Mis Raíces do the catering and the food was so FRESH, DELICIOUS and beautifully displayed. Everyone raved about the food asking where it came from. They provided excellent service, responded quickly, and were very professional. Thank you so much, we will definitely cater again. We had the Chicken in Garlic Sauce, Vegetable Rice, Green Salad, Mini Cuban Sandwiches, and Mini Empanadas. Totally recommend their food!

Ordered two entrees of the tilapia, both came back undercooked. Food is mediocre at most, and this experience just brought it all the way down. Front cashier lady is super monotone and just all-around inexperienced. Won’t buy again, save your money. They raised their prices and continue to serve undercooked food.

Been coming here for a while now, I love how nice the new location is. Decor is lovely and the food has always been as close to home food without having your Grandmother make it. Will always recommend!

I was in the mood for Spanish food so came across this place. I placed an order for deliver of the fried shrimp and yellow rice. It arrived right on time. When I dug in there was a lot of food and was very filling. The shrimp was pretty decent and the rice and salad was good. The meal was good all in all and I would return.

Everything was amazing! I was looking for authentic Puerto Rican food and this restaurant definitely delivered. The chuleta (pork chops) were tender and juicy. The arroz con gandules was perfect. Empanadas which are cooked perfectly with a golden crust, guava and cheese was my favorite. Great portions and prices.

The other day I ordered Mis Raices Restaurant for lunch. I ordered their Bacalao Lunch Platter w/ White Rice & Black Beans. And for the side I ordered their Beef Empanada. The Bacalao was extremely tasty, the White Rice was cooked really well, and the Black Beans had excellent flavor. The Beef Empanada came out piping hot and was excellent as well too. Not to mention the staff was very kind and attentive! For the grand price of $10.5, you get some great Spanish food, and a very filling lunch. Would absolutely love to try this place again, and would highly recommend Mia Raices Restaurant to anyone in the Teaneck area!

Ordered Thanksgiving Dinner special and it was Amazing! Had 14 people over and there was not one person that didn’t compliment the delicious food and with plenty of leftovers for everyone to take home. Keep up the great quality Mis Raíces 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

We ordered from Grubhub in the past, but this is our 1st time physically in the restaurant. How cute, the wall was decorated like a Caribbean house :D The wife is Puerto Rican, and the husband is Cuban, hence the blend of food. Very nice couple and great service. Passion Fruit Juice was good, not watered down, kind of taste like being in the Islands. Morir Sonando was ok The bread they leave for you, while you wait, was so good, soft bread with some garlic. Mofongo with Garlic Chicken was good but pretty basic Bacalao with Garlic Yucca, the bacalao was very saucy, which I love, but had I known, I would have ordered rice. It didn't go well with Garlic Yucca, which is amazing! Must have the garlic yucca, I had ordered this in the takeout, so I had to get it fresh in store :D. It went well with Chicharron. Just don't order it with Bacalao. The bacalao is very good on its own. Our takeout was Chicharron de Pollo and Masitas De Cerdo, which were both delicious. We also tried many empanadas. It was delicious after delivery, which made it slightly cold, imagine fresh. Our favorites were the Crab and Chicken and Cheese. Delivery was good, but eating it fresh in the restaurant was better.

From the outside it is little I began to feel at home the food was amazing the prices I was shocked and the people really friendly the owner came out and was having a conversation. I notice they know the people that come in regulars. I had asked for my order then I added two more things when I went to pay, he said it's on the house. I have been driving to the Bronx and I found this place the last day. I am from Cleveland, and I wish they had a spot like this.

Excellent food and great atmosphere. We really enjoyed everything. I brought my friend from France here as he never had Puerto Rican Food and he loved it too!

We came all the way from New York and Weehawken and were we impressed. The decor was beautiful and meaningful. The staff was attentive and kind. The customers were friendly. Now the food, was so pretty. The Chicago de Pollo epic, my arroz con Gondulez abd mascaras de cueiro with Pickled onions Devine. My friends chicken tasty. The homemade plantain chips was amazing. The shrimp empenada was so well seasoned. All empenadas were gigantic. Check out annastravels on tiktok and anamaglena on Instagram. Run there don't walk. 10 star.

I love cuban food, but was sadly dissapointed with their offerings. Maybe they had an off day? Never have I ever had a soggy Cuban sandwich, soggy maduros, and soggy fried yuca. I will try again in the future.

Great tasting cuban sandwiches and empanadas. Owners/staff were friendly too. Pan con bistec was a miss, but I'd definitely go back again. Great value too.

I just recently celebrated my daughters 17th birthday and Ana catered the event. The food was DELICIOUS and the display of food was beautiful. Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely order from here again.

I ordered the bistec encebollado and I have to say I’m disappointed. The steak was just not tasty didn’t have any seasoning and I would have enjoyed it more if it had some color on it, I know this dish is in a sauce but the sauce was just water from the steak. I’ve had this dish at other places and I wish the meat was more seasoned.

We went in pretty late, ordered the chicharron plate, which was bad man. It was massive chunks of pork that wasn't fried nearly hard enough. My lady loved the pizza empanadas. The tostones... dry, yuca con ajo, no salt and waybtoo much garlic. The owner however was super welcoming and friendly while we were there. And for that fact I'd go back earlier in the day when the food is a little fresh. Just cut that chicharron into smaller pieces 🙏

I must say it has been awhile since I've had food that tasted so flavorful. Also the owners are such nice people makes you feel like you are stepping into a friend's house for some homemade meals. Will be coming here again

The best Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 and Cuban 🇨🇺 food on the east coast! We found this place on accident and thank God we did. I had the Cuban sandwich and I kept closing my eyes thinking I was in PuertoRico or Cuba. Thank you for the grat food and hospitality! We definitely will be back.

If I can give this place 10 stars I would! If you're looking for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine--look no further. THIS IS IT! And we are never going elsewhere. We tried other restaurants, and NO OTHER restaurant compares. What a surprise when they welcomed us to their restaurant that they are still in the process of formally opening. You would never guess from the street, how beautiful and cozy this restaurant is. Ana and Edi were very welcoming, we felt like old friends! They have an expansive menu so come hungry! We ordered crab and shrimp empanadas, Mofongo Chicarron, Mofongo de Camarones, oxtail stew, Pernil and finished our dinner with flan and tres leches. We almost ordered the entire menu! Everything was so appealing. Did I mention we also had coquito? When I tell you that everything we ordered was not only beautifully presented, they were all DELICIOUS! Take a look at our pics. We hope everyone curious or are looking for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine to try Mis Raices. We were treated like family and we just found our go-to place for Puerto Rican food.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They need to be ashamed saying they serve authentic Puerto Rican food! I ordered alcupurria and arroz con gondules thru door dash and my alcupurria was burnt! As black as the black spoon in the picture. For them to even serve this trash to customers is beyond me. There wasn’t even a lot of meat inside. Not to mention the are arroz con gondules was tasteless and bland. I added ketchup and hot sauce-and still had no taste. There also wasn’t enough color on the rice for me. I like my rice orange. This place is a disgrace to PUERTO RICO! Do not go here!

I’ve been ordering delivery here for years. They usually deliver very quickly so the food is still hot when it gets to me. The price vs food portion is unbeatable for this area. On top of that and most importantly, they taste delicious and they’re pretty consistent. There was one time they gave me very little bacalao with mostly just juice, but after talking to them on the phone, they made up for me with plenty when I ordered again the next day. Thank you Mis Raíces for delicious food and unbeatable service!

I have been a patron of this restaurant since before COVIE. I’ve loved their food and have always highly recommended them to everyone I know. THIS is extremely sad and heartbreaking. As I was finishing my Salmon empanada I pulled out of my mouth a piece of clear plastic, the length of my finger. Totally disappointed in addition to it being so dangerous!
