It took me awhile to write this review because time was not gracious to my little Snickers. We found " city by the sea vet's " in the last couple months of our time with fur baby because we were looking for a place which provided acupuncture. I really honestly have to say I wished we knew about this place long before. Don't get me wrong, we had very good veterinarians before, and we had many because our little one was a puppy mill survivor and had plenty of issues. But to find a place with compassion for the dogs AND the owner is not wide spread. Dr. Brianna is truly an angel and helped me a lot in my difficult time. Every person in the clinic was . The staff was always pleasant and showed concern for the well-being of their fur patients. Sadly the time to say goodbye came and Dr. Brianna helped me to find a home service. I received a wonderful card in the end. If my heart is open for new company i will return

I can’t even articulate how amazing this practice and the entire staff is at City by the Sea Vet. Very reasonable pricing. They never try to oversell. They never rush and are always very honest and fair. Reception, vet techs, the doctors….all amazing (and have been consistently since they opened). Dr. Stafford (particularly) cared for my 2 boxers up until their passing. I had to put my 15 yo boxer down there…and they were so compassionate and understanding. They gave her donuts and apple pie and peanut butter and chocolate as she passed. As devastating and heartbreaking as losing her was, it was very beautiful and peaceful the way they let her pass doing what brought her the most joy (eating). Even if you’re not local….this vet is worth the trip. They have a lifelong, loyal patron in me.

City by the Sea is an exceptional vet practice! After being at a loss for what was happening with my dog for over a month, they were able to immediately diagnose what the problem was and provide effective treatment. I really appreciate the entire staff here. Lauren, one of the vet techs is such a gem. I could really tell how much she cared, which I feel is a quality lacking at other offices these days. Dr. Bri explained exactly what they were going to do, what was going on and what the best plan of treatment would be. I really appreciated her concern and thoroughness. I can also tell this office is up to date with the latest technology, procedures and medication options. I would recommend anyone to take their furry friend here, they really treat your pet like their own.

There are not enough ways to describe how wonderful City by the Sea is. I was so excited when their sign first went up that there was a vet coming to town. I was there during their first week and I knew they were special. Dr Tom is the most incredible vet I have ever had. He is knowledgeable, empathetic and truly has provided excellent care for both my rescue bulldogs. He takes the time to explain things clearly. Karen is truly one of the kindest and most authentic people I have met. She also always makes time for people and loves all the pets so much. The whole team is wonderful and I (and Maggie and Lola) are very grateful for them ! 🐶❤️

Great overall experience. Been going here for roughly 3 years now. Our dog loves the staff and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Definitely seems like the staff are actually there to help animals and not just collect a paycheck (which is hard to find) They’re also conveniently located next to a coffee shop and pizza place if you arrive hungry and tired.

Made an appointment a month ago for Lyme disease shot and a general checkup. The two Receptionists didn't acknowledge us upon arrival and were staring at their computer screens. We eventually got their attention. We were told that it was a Technician appointment, wouldn't let us accompany our dog, who is a necrotic Rescue, and a girl took our pet into a room. We expressed our concerns regarding the other issues we wanted addressed, and were told to make another appointment. We paid $220 for 3 minutes of our appointment. Looks like it's time to shop another Vetanarian. No more Slum by the Sea Vetanarian for us.

City by The Sea Veterinary is a wonderful experience for my dog and myself. Dr. Tom and Dr. Conway answer all of your questions and make you feel that your dog is getting the best care possible. The reception crew is also very welcoming and kind.

I had an appointment and had to wait appx 40 min to get in an examination room, there were no other patients waiting, then the vet tech asked to take my dog back to the diagnostic room, I said not without me! she replied that the vet was busy and I would have to wait for her to come. which I did. 10 min later the vet came in, she had great bedside manner, took time to interact and make my dog and make her and me feel comfortable and carefully examined her, she was very good, kind and caring and knowledgeable, she diagnosed and prescribed a medication and days later we were fine. This is a very nice place and my experience, once I got to see the vet, was very good.

Absolutely wonderful veterinary clinic. They take everything into consideration when you bring in your pet. We've brought many a kitten from a feral colony to them and they always consider budgetary restrictions while still giving the best care. Even when kittens have unexpected conditions they were able to get me in the next day to have them assessed. We've never felt pressured to make a decision and they always are willing to work with us and provide advice. They're absolutely quick when it comes to providing records which is wonderful when we have a kitten go to a forever home. Will always recommend this clinic.

City by the sea vet is always so caring and compassionate. Our dog, Brie, has been going to them since we adopted her 4 years ago and they have been able to give her outstanding care throughout all of her health issues. Our dog actually looks forward to going to the vet because they treat her as if she were their own dog and it shows.

The best vet ever, my dog has been going here since I brought him home at 8 weeks and he's now 1 1/2! Everyone is super sweet and caring and they will always try to squeeze you in for an appointment no matter what! From the front desk, the techs, the doctors everyone is great. If I ask my pup if he wants to go see Dr. Brianna or Dr. Tom his tail starts wagging and he practically runs through the clinic door every visit, highly recommend!

Everyone at City by the Sea was very helpful especially considering how nervous my dog Bella was. Dr. Tom was thorough explaining her issue and showing me details on X-ray. Also he told me ahead of time what price for X-ray was which I appreciated. They also called to follow up the next day and exchanged a couple of emails to monitor medicine.

This vet is the best. The staff and doctors are super nice, I never have to wait a long time. I had to put one of my dogs down about 2 weeks ago, it was extremely emotional. The staff was so nice and supportive. The office even mailed me a condolence card which everyone in the office wrote something in and signed. It meant a lot. I can’t recommend this place enough

I travel 40+ min one way to go here because I truly feel they care for my pets and do everything with my animal’s best interests in mind. Unlike other vets I’ve been to in the past that will do anything to get your money. Thank you for sincerely caring each and every time we visit.

Just having moved, I was sad to lose my old vet, but City by the Sea was just wonderful. They took the time to explain everything needed and spread out his vaccinations so my dog wasn't overwhelmed. The exam rooms are comfortable. Most importantly, my dog isn't nervous here. The staff made sure he was given lots of positive attention. Highly recommended City by the Sea Veterinary.

The entire staff is incredibly nice and sweet to their patients. There were 3 people in the room with my dog and I appreciated the additional insight and patience listening to our issues at hand. They made the extra effort to call the day after my dog got a shot to make sure he was feeling okay - which I thought was incredibly sweet as these places are often busy.

City by the Sea was not my baby's usual vet. My dog, Valentine, was not feeling well and they had availability to see her immediately. Dr. Bri and her assistant were amazing. They took really good care of my baby. Unfortunately, they were the ones that had to break the bad news that my girl had cancer. They were very compassionate. We decided to have our baby cross over the Rainbow Bridge at home. The vet service that came to our home notified City by the Sea and they sent us a beautiful sympathy card with everyone's condolences. It really meant a lot to us.

I've never met a group of more caring, wonderful people in my life. The doctors, the vet techs, the receptionists: everyone is exactly what you'd want from your pet care clinic. They take care of our 14 year old dog like he was one of their own and always make sure to put our mind at ease about whatever reason he was brought there. In addition to how kind they are, they also performed a very successful surgery on our old man. There are few places I trust more in this world than City by the Sea.

Brought my 13 week old puppy in for her routine vaccination and exam. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Dr. Kasten is thorough and gives you detailed explanation as to what is going on during the visit. She went through all my options in regards to my puppy’s vaccination and what the next visits would entail.

Our dear sweet Bentley passed away and we received a sympathy card from The staff At this amazing vet office. 1st let me say that they took care of Bentley above and beyond From the moment we started going to them. I never ever felt like they just did it for the money but they truly loved him. We would pick him up and he would be hanging out behind the desk with the girls they spoiled him to no end. When we received this card it wasn't just a blank sympathy card but every staff member wrote in it A personal note to let us know how much they cared. It overwhelmed me so much that I am literally sobbing writing this review. They truly are the best of the best in Monmouth county. Thank you for everything we love you.

We had been with another Vet practice for over 20 years. Due to their growth and covid restrictions we could not get an appointment to fit our schedule. It was time for a change. We turned to City by the Sea. From the first call they set up an appointment that work for us. On arrival we were greeted and went right into an exam room, no waiting in the parking lot for a half hour with a stressed dog. The technician arrived in minuets and began the exam. Then we met with the doctor. Everyone was attentive and informative. Leaving I felt like I had just spent time with old friends. So glad we made the change.

City By the Sea Vet is a great office and practice! I recently switched to this vet a few years back and feel like they go above and beyond when caring for my two dogs. I was recently there this past week and when my dog was in the back with the nurses and doctors they took such great care of him and were so caring and loving towards him (I could hear through the door lol). They have great hours too which is accommodating for people who work later and need evening appointments. I would highly recommend this practice!

Such an amazing vet practice. Everyone goes above and beyond to make their patients comfortable and happy. My dog who is deaf and blind absolutely loves going there. The doctors are thorough and patient and always take time to explain things clearly. The reception staff is helpful and efficient and the technicians are so compassionate and gentle. City By The Sea Vet is a wonderful practice. My cat Holly is nearing 16 years old and I figured to help with her chronic ailments, acupuncture might be a good fit. The staff is extremely flexible with appointment scheduling. I reached out a few months ago just to ask about a consult and today, April 7, 2022, when I called to schedule I was able to get Holly in for the afternoon. Dr. Stafford and the rest of the team that took care of Holly were truly delightful. I appreciated Dr. Stafford's honesty that Holly is not a good candidate for acupuncture. She did offer up some other options such as giving Holly a pouch a day of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary RX Supplements Hydra Care, which I was given samples of to try at home. Holly surprisingly loves it! She also gave two prescription medications, which will hopefully also go over well. Overall, a really great experience despite Holly being a bit sassy while visiting a new animal hospital.

The best veterinary service I ever experience. They were extremely caring and compassionate as I grieved. They even sent a card which everyone from the clinic signed. They made me feel that they were truly were concerned and understanding. I would highly recommend. wish I had discovered them sooner.

Thankful that this vet has been here for my pup Smitty. I cannot recommend them enough! Dr. Tom and his staff are so nice and have an exceptional manner with the animals. I've had to bring Smitty in for a wide variety of issues since adopting him - he's been a high maintenance pup. Fortunately, every visit brings a high standard of care for the pets and people. The office is clean and well managed and very thoughtfully laid out. Because the manner of the staff is so wonderful, I highly trust them and recommend them whenever I can. Bonus - for as many times I've been there, they've never tried to add on additional, unnecessary costs. They try to make the care they provide efficient and affordable and it shows. If you're concerned about the quality of your animals care, definitely come to this vet!

Thank you to Dr. Tom and the wonderful staff. My dog Lucy, had bladder surgery to remove a large stone this past week. I was kept informed throughout the day of what was being performed and how Lucy‘s condition was and I felt relieved just knowing Lucy was in good hands. Her recovery at home went so well due to the excellent discharge instructions. I thank Dr. Tom for his expertise, love and care for all animals and of course my Lucy.

Me and Theo are new to City By The Sea and Dr. Tom. I must say, the entire staff is wonderful. I plan to stay with them for a very long time. Knowledgeable, compassionate and calming.

I cannot even describe how happy I am with City By The Sea Vet. Dr. Tom was amazing, he took the time to explain in full detail everything that they were doing and everything that was happening or could be happening with my 15 year old dog. I am so mad that I waited this long to switch vets. What a life changing experience to feel that they actually care about the animal and not just the bill, a young passionate caring vet makes a complete difference. In one hour Dr. Tom told me more about my dog than 15 years at her life long vet. Not only are the prices fair and reasonable but the entire staff is friendly and happy to be there. One staff member carried my dog from the car to the office inside of her zip up. Thank you for everything, you will now be the only vet I ever go to!

A long overdue review. This is a review I’ve intended to write for years, but knew it would be a tough one so have stalled. We cannot recommend City by the Sea enough. Dr. Tom and his staff came into our lives when we needed them the most. Our beloved yellow lab Cass girl was urgently at her time after a long battle with cancer. At the time, we were not patients of City by the Sea or Dr. Tom. But they showed up - driving 45 minutes through a horrible nor’easter to our home with the most empathetic, gentle care for both our girl and for us. The moment they showed up, the panic of the situation immediately resolved to peaceful and a loving passing for our girl. Again, not patients of the practice, they handled necessary arrangements with the utmost care and love, and sent a card signed by every member of the staff. We instantly felt cared for by folks that didn’t feel like the strangers they were. When we rescued again, it wasn’t even a conversation, we knew we would switch to City by the Sea. And we continue to feel that same level of empathy, care and love that we felt that night with Cass. The knowledge of the whole staff is vast, the communication is timely, robust and informative. At every visit, their care extends beyond the one symptomatic reason for the appointment, making sure there’s nothing new or connected that I’m missing which I have greatly appreciated with a senior rescue. Again, cannot recommend Dr. Tom and his practice enough. They consistently show up in every way and provide top care.
