Always enjoy stopping in at Depot Bar & Grill when traveling through central Minnesota. Love the atmosphere, great food, friendly staff, and outdoor seating on a pleasant day. Lobster tacos, Cajun burger and sweet potatoes are to die for. Until next time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ In my humble opinion.. I believe no other restaurants I have experienced in my 63 years comes close to the prepared and plated food, flavors, service, prices and environment we experienced tonight at the Faribault Depot Bar and Grill, as provided by NYC trained Pro Culinary Chef, Jeff LaBaeu. We found Jeff’s articulated culinary knowledge and passion to be amazing. After doing some research for a restaurant to share a birthday dinner tonight.. we decided to make the trip from a southern Mnpls suburb area. 35W South was a short quick 40 mile trip down to Faribault. Turned out to be worth every mile we traveled. Nice scenic actually. No traffic with lots of cool rural sights. This unique restaurant (remodeled Faribault railroad depot) is located in the historic eastern downtown Faribault business district next to the Straight river and world famous Faribault Cheese Caves. Trains still occasionally run the rails just next to the restaurant and river. We found the Depot to be a very unique super cool place both inside and out. I consider our experience tonight to be an elite level of restaurant food quality and flavors complimented by excellent service. The Depot menu really runs the gamut. From the best looking burgers meals we seen served.. to the elite level of fine dining plated offerings we experienced. Pricing is definitely less than what I typically see from the decent cookie-cutter metro restaurants… and certainly far less expensive than those considered to be “fine” dinning restaurants. I was very impressed that the Depot seems to have it all. To end my raving over our experience, I would proudly give the Depot a double 5 star rating across the board. No question. Best overall restaurant dining experience I have had yet in my 63 years! Definitely be back soon.. Likely even this weekend. Next trip will include a Rice County lakes scenic before dinner.

I love soup all year long and this Beef and Barley soup is hands down an INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS soup! Loaded with veggies and an undeniably delicious broth! It's something every soup lovers dreams are made of! I also ordered the Adult Mac and Cheese. Pasta was cooked well and the plate was swimming in gouda cheese sauce. I liked it, but loved my soup more. But that's just my opinion. Either way, I highly recommend a stop at The Depot. It was our first experience and it was a great one.

I tried the Elk burger with their Ama-blue cheese ( my first Elk 🍔) and I APPROVE! The fries were the show stoppers for me tho. I love a crispy seasoned fry 🤤. Hubs had a basic cheese & bacon burger and my brother had the Minnesota Philly. All plates were cleared by the end of it. Lol

Food was good and the service was too. I will return when I'm in the area. Pictured are the club sandwich, cheese curds, and adult mac and cheese with bacon added.

Amazing food, low prices. I think they have the best fries in town! Fast and friendly staff. Low key, family friendly. Perfect environment for business lunches or dinners! Private seating available. I just had the Duck Buger.....delicous.

Celebrated 36 years with my sweetheart by having a fine meal at The Depot. The staff were friendly, food was prompt. Death by Chocolate Cake was great to share together. I'll be back!!

Train station themed restaurant. Right next to the train tracks and the river. Wild rice soup delicious, I had the blackened Cajun chicken (decent spice). Husband got the Cuban sandwich with fries. Pleasantly surprised with the food and service. Tableware could be upgraded.

First time at this restaurant not impressed. (Service) Waitress seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. (Food) Great dip for garlic chips. Salmon had a good taste to it ; however way over cooked. Batter on shrimp , fish to oily. (Atmosphere) To noisy for my liking.

The peach salad was amazing. The 5 onion soup is always delish and the Cuban sandwich was tasty. Very cool place!!

Delicious food, generous proportions, and welcoming staff!! Our server was great! His service and timing was impeccable. The owner, who is also the chef, genuinely cared about answering my dietary restriction question. He took the time to talk to me directly. I will definitely be back! :)

Cutest train station, the train came by and we had a great view of it. The chef and bartenders are amazing. All of the food is out of this world. My only complaint is my ranch didn't come until after we were done eating. Will definitely come again.

Very cool space and decor. Our server was super attentive and lovely. Fried pickles were delicious, as was the adult Mac and cheese and tortilla chips that came with my combo. Did not care for the chicken tacos, but they’re beautifully presented and everything else was great.

First time eating at the Depot Bar & Grill. Great atmosphere, we were seated right away. Service was good and big selection of food. We ordered the chicken peach salad and it was great. Will definitely be back when in town.

There is not enough space to explain how shocked I am this exists I'm such a small town. The cooking is beyond phenomenal, we always order off the daily menu they post on Facebook. At first glance it seems expensive but the helpings are more than generous. We've called ahead to order for pick up and the staff are attentive and fast, always down to earth and accurate with info given. Watch for unlimited crab nights! Leagues better than red lobster. The chef has to be sent from God to bless this community. Even comes out to see how you're doing! 100/10 will always

Walleye fish & chip is very good especially with homemade tater tots. Waitress is very friendly and attentive.

7 of us had dinner Sunday to honor my Mom for her 81st Birthday! Great food! Loved the atmosphere. Will go back soon! Huge menu, lots of options! We had a mix up/delay getting our bills, she took her time and made it right. A bit delayed at times, but great dinner. Photos of Chicken Cordon Blue, Yummy! Deep fried pickles and Pork loin sandwich!

Always usually Love going to The Depot, But this trip Steak was so tough and over cooked. Everyone's Ribs were served cold and real fatty. Definitely not worth the price tag we paid. When our server told kitchen cooks, server said, "well they weren't happy about that but I told them".

We were first seated by a gaggle of noisy girlfriends but the hostess was more than happy to move us to another room where it was quiet and with only one other table (across the room) with diners. We had plenty of time and peace to enjoy our meals and conversation. The food was fine; generous portions, as well. Excellent, attentive waitress. Couldn't ask for more.

We went to the Depot on Father’s Day and everything was perfect. They were really busy but we got a table right away. The food was delicious and so was the service. The chicken wild rice soup was excellent. I also like the fact the the owner visited our table! Great place! We will be going back soon!

Went for the all you can eat crab legs on Monday. Food was fantastic and they always checked if we needed more. The service was superb. Jeff who owns the Depot always came by 2 make sure everything was good. Highly recommend this place even if u don’t come for the crab legs.

My niece got her first job as a hostess and we were SO excited to eat here. We had family in from out of state and thought it would be a great experience. We waited 20 min after we were seated for a waitress that we had to flag down to take our drink order. Then about 15 min for another waitress to come take our order. The other 5 members in my family got their food and began eating. My fiance asked for his burger well done and it was PINK inside after the first bite. My Daughter in Law had to ask a waitress (ours was nowhere to bee seen) to refill our drinks. I waited for everyone to finish eating then flagged down the waitress to ask about my food. It came about 10 minutes later. I picked up my burger and went to take a bite...my bun was soaking wet and unfortunately I have no idea what it tasted like. $100 for burgers I could have made at home and I went without supper. The excuse from the manager when I talked to him about the raw burger and the wait time...it was the waitresses fault is what he told me..... HORRIBLE SERVICE on a Wednesday night where there were only a handful of other patrons.

Even though it was Saturday at lunch time and they were busy, we got seated right away. The food and service were very good. I especially liked the blue cheese dressing (I had it on my salad and Buffalo chicken sandwich). The chef makes the dressing in house; very tangy. Definitely check this place out if you're ever in Faribault, MN.

This is my 4th time here in the past year. Every time the food & service has been great! Today I had the Peach Salad...YUM!! So fresh and delicious!! It's a summer menu item, so stop soon if you want to try it. I also tasted my husbands French Onion Soup which was very good, lots of onions & rich tasting broth. I look forward to going here again soon.

I had the clam chowder and it was great. My fiance's sandwich was also good. It's been my experience to get something better you can expect to pay twice as much and even then it might not be as good. Great service and a great dinning experience.

I cannot say enough good about the depot!!! I love the atmosphere. I love the food. I love the bloody Mary's. The service has always been top notch and fun. I live 70 miles from there but anytime we make a trip to the cities, the Depot is an absolute must stop!!!
