I would give this hotel a higher star rating, but I got bit by bedbugs while staying there and that is huge point of concern. The front desk staff apologized, however there was never any follow up from the manager or even an offer of discount for our room payment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else because bed bugs are such an awful thing to deal with and can be brought home with you in your stuff. I had to wash all of our clothes and dry it on the hottest cycles and then leave our bags out in the garage for a while to make sure none came into our home.

We booked a 2 night stay for a funeral and we're excited to try there pool as it looked amazing. It is closed from November 5th to November 25th. This was not listed on their website or Facebook. When we arrived on Sunday Afternoon we found the sign and asked if there was anything they could do, they said no, that they had called everyone who had a reservation, which I had never gotten any calls, and they would have a manager call me in the morning. The next morning I stopped by the front desk and asked if we could upgrade to the whirlpool single king suite, and I was fine paying the fee. They said they would make it happen and they would have keys waiting for us when we got back later on since we had to leave for the funeral. When we got back later in the day, there where no keys and the afternoon attendant knew nothing about what I was talking about. He called his manager and he told us they weren't actually able to upgrade us due to it being a different room code/type and that we had prepaid, something we had to do as we had booked short notice, as we learned about the funeral Thursday. We never received any calls from any Manager Monday about working anything out with us. We never received any communication throughout Monday wanting to talk about our upgrade or ask if they could charge us the difference, which I said they could that morning, and had 2 people say they could make it work. (Learned later that was the manager) There breakfast was very sub-par compared to the breakfast I have had at other hotels in the same price and rating range. The rooms need some renovating, our bathroom could use repairs as there is a lot of caulk everywhere, the windows wouldn't close correctly causing cold air to get in a bit, the ac/heater was very loud and had a constant loud hum even when not running. Some of the bed sheets were sweat stained pillows seemed to be okay. I am a full-time student and had a lot of homework to get done due to losing my weekend for travel. The Internet was very spotty and barely reached our room 106. We had connection issues on our phones with the service dropping repeatedly. On Monday and Tuesday the whole lobby and hallway smelled like chemicals from them working on the pool. There breakfast items were also left out in the display cases over night, like muffins, bread, cereal, etc. It was quite and mostly empty, with very few guest while we have been here. Update from Tuesday Check-out: While checking out I asked if the manager was in, found out the manager was a guy, our night attendant on Monday night said the manager was a lady so he never actually called the manager about our room upgrade. I still haven't received any calls from anyone and the desk attendant said she didn't see any notes anywhere for the manager to call me.

Wasn't at all relaxing, quiet or clean. I had a king suite and I wasn't in the room 5 min and noticed the sheets were dirty and some lights didn't work. They upgraded me to another suite and the jacuzzi was filthy and things were floating in the water. I found a dirty sock in the sheets along with a glow stick and gross sticky tan stuff all over the walls and blow dryer. There was a loud party that woke us up for over an hour and dogs barking non stop.I will not be staying here again and will share my experience with everyone.

Great location just off I 35. Nice rooms, excellent people at the front desk! Many selections at breakfast. And you can bring your pets. I would stay here again.

Pet friendly, no carpet in our room, we hate nasty carpet. The bed was comfy, it was quite there & clean. There was no hair in the bathroom which I hate to find when staying anywhere! I always peel back the top half of the bedding to the mattress & the mattress was very clean. Staff was friendly, good value.

People are friendly. The hotel is okay, not super clean. Breakfast is kind of sad. They do have coffee and tea in lobby all day.

Couldn't sleep in bed that slopes down from feet to head so I decided to share wifi experience. Was warned they were having trouble with it and of course it didn't work. Followed directions to call help desk. SCAM! When I said for the 3rd time that I wouldn't give my credit card account number I was given a phone number which turned out to be a medical insurance company who hung up on me. Front desk tried to help but it was beyond her capabilities. You get what you pay for. It was a cheap place with chipped up rickety furniture, lights that didn’t work, dirty windows and mirrors, and worn linens and towels. Yuck.

Sleepy little town that my wife and I came through for a wedding. Absolutely lovely little hotel. Breakfast was great, rooms clean, staff incredibly friendly. My only complaint would be the wifi was spotty but, for once, I wasn't there to work and it didn't affect me. If I had to come to Faribault again, I would definitely return to Boarders!

They really need to get their wifi figured out was my major complaint and sole reason for the review. If you have a Samsung forget about using wifi at all. It's a known issue apparently- not user error. Entranceway smells really gross. Employees were super nice. Breakfast was good, even towards the end at 9:30 am. Room carpets definitely need cleaning/replacing. I didnt feel comfortable walking on them without shoes or even temporarily putting my bags on the floor. Lots of stains on them and the lampshade, strange enough. Beds were comfy. AC is loud but blasts cold which was great. Hot tub/spa was awesome. Adults only hours super late at the pool also which was the best. Not luxury but decent enough.

This place is amazing. Indoor hot tub and pool. Nice and cozy. Amazing staff and management. Farbuilt is a small town so not much to do there but the hotel is beautiful and a great place to stay.

Room carpets were badly stained and bathroom tub was very dirty looking and standing water in tub. Towel bar fell off when we tried wiping out hands. Did talk to employee at front desk who apologized and gave us a 20.00 credit at check out. He wrote the room number down and said they would address the issues.

Pros: Indoor pool, sauna, helpful and friendly staff, mattress was in good shape/comfortable. Cons: Could hear word for word what ppl in ajacent room are saying. It's possible they were speaking loudly; it has been quiet the other nights. Wifi signal was weak in my room. Lighting in the room could be improved. A heating ceiling bulb would be great as well for the bathroom in winter months. Overall the room needs a remodel badly.

This is a middle of the road place at best. Friendly staff but dated rooms. The wifi didn't work and when my wife went downstairs and she asked she was told "it works down here.". The breakfast is nothing special.

I love the floors NO CARPET in my room. Makes it feel clean. Coffee and tea offered 24/7 with more than one option. My room was quite. My room was clean upon my arrival. Friendly staff.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. The only way I can post a review is if I recommend. When I try to “not recommend” it says ERROR and does not let me post. The room doors do not shut if you do not slam them closed. Employees go into rooms when you’re not there even when the sign on the front desk says “no housekeeping because of Covid” we know this because they walked into my fathers room without knocking at 1pm. They also used our bathroom, moved our clothes/towels and stole some belongings. The floors are awfully dirty and been “in construction” for over a year with no start in sight. The rooms need to be updated too. Sheets stained, blankets ripped and all still being used.

I was put in situation to stay at my local hotel for 2 nights. I was escaping from sick person. I love the hardwood floors. I love the 24 hour coffee bar. The staff were amazing. I wish it was just a bit cheaper. I would have stayed the entire time I needed to be away.

I found quite a few things to do and explore in and around the Faribault area. So this is the place I chose for our "Base Camp." I literally called at 7 pm on 3/18/22. Booked the last room on the 1st floor with 2 queen beds. Thank you to our receptionist. They offer a free breakfast in the morning, starting at 6 am. They also have Snack & ice machines, cable TV, a pool, then best of all, they are dog friendly! 😃 This is going to be a weekend for us all to remember. There will be reviews of the other places over our little trip. Feel free to check it out. My trip of saved places is public & titled "Chasing Waterfalls and such!"

Hotel was clean. Room was pretty standard, clean, nothing out of the ordinary. Was a comfortable stay.

Both rooms had tubs that wouldn't drain and ours had a toilet that ran loudly throughout the night. Carpets throughout the place and in the rooms were stained. Towels in rooms and pool area were old and felt oily and unclean. People staying were having altercations and leaving rooms open to shout back and forth to one another. One guy roaming around in his underwear. Just not good - felt like a poorly maintained men's frat house or dormitory.
