This is a cute and cozy stop. They had a little fire burning stove that help keep the room warm and smelling like a wood fire. Menu was in a cute leather bound book. It did not indicate gluten free or gluten friendly options. The mashed potatoes and curry bratwurst were good and the curry catchup was great. The red cabbage and normal bratwurst were little bland and cool when delivered. We asked for some mustard to help things along. 3$ upcharge might be fine if they make the mustard, but it seemed like Dejan right out of the jar. The meal seemed a little on the expensive side for 2 people sharing a plate and sides. Sauerkraut was good, but dryer than I expected, it seemed pressed. Staff were all super friendly. I would visit again if in the area. I want to try the jalapeños cheddar wursts next time

Excellent neighborhood brewery and restaurant. German food and beer styles. I had the chocolate Weiss beer. Was great, malty and smooth. Dinner was BeyondMeat brat. Pretty good. The German potatoes were outstanding. I could easily become a regular here!

Tried the chicken Schnitzel with asparagus and pasta. Does not follow the traditional authentic recipe (the cut is thick), but the sauce makes it tasty. The "Berliner" beer offers a smooth, champagne-like taste

Had a fantastic experience. A buddy and I sat outside with our dogs around a fire. Beers were ready and served within minutes (great German quality) and the pretzel plus had 4 fun dipping options that were all enjoyable. What really won me over was Mackenzie gifting me a large sweatshirt for my pup (Boston Terrier) who needed an extra layer; above and beyond service (Thank you!). I will certainly be back.

I have been here a handful of times - at all seasons of the year. They’ve made the patio surprisingly comfortable even if it’s winter. Interior is unique and well-kept. Great experiences all around. My wife and parents love it here too. Keep up the great work!

We went here and sat outside on a nice fall day. Thing is we don't really care for German style beers. Also their menu is pretty limited (hope you like bratwurst!) The pretzel with mustards and cheese dip is pretty good but EXPENSIVE at $15! We got the beer sampler flight (5oz pours) and pretzel and with tax it was I think $33! If you like German style beer and food, you'll love this place but it wasn't for us.

Dinner and a flight of beer. Good on both accounts. Hearty food servings. Friendly service. The flight is all 6 of their current beers. A good variety of German food with options for pairings. Fairly close walking distance to many hotels in St Paul.

Great atmosphere, the beer was tasty and the giant pretzel was very delicious. We will make a return trip for more food and beer.

Wow!! What a fun hidden gem. My husband and I took a weekend getaway to St. Paul several weeks ago. It was a long day and both of us needed drinks and food. After finding parking (it sucks in this area!) we skipped another brewery in this area for this interesting looking one. Sooooo glad we did!! He ordered a Roggenbier and I ordered the Kolsch. Both beers were incredibly tasty and well-balanced. We then ordered the giant pretzel with mustards and cheese. I could have bathed in that cheese dip. Lord! That stuff was to die for. Our plan was to go somewhere else for dinner but we decided to stay. We ordered the pickle tray, cheese spaetzle and a sausage. Everything was so tasty. This was such a fun find and we will absolutely return on our next St. Paul visit. Our service was also great— our waitress was attentive but not over-bearing. And the atmosphere was top notch as well. Don’t sleep on this place!!

Marco was a STELLAR server!!! Polite, kind, welcoming and brought by Great Dane….we had a blast. People next to me has the desert with all the berries and it was delicious. He said the pretzel Is the size of your head and can come up to three sauces/cheese. I only had a beer but the ladies next to me had Chicken Schnitzel which was a 10 of 10!!!!! Fun times, highly recommend

This small brewery in a historic St Paul house is wonderful! They serve only 5-6 German style beers and have delicious classic German fare (plus some American food too). We tried the cheese spatzle, which reminds you of mac & cheese in the best way, and a wurst platter. It was all tasty and service was very prompt. The space is lovely and cozy whether you are upstairs or down.

1857 saloon lovingly restored nowthe home of Waldmann brewery. Great German beers and wurst! The Dampfbier and Dunkelweizen are worth seeking out in St. Paul.

Had a wonderful lunch and server at Waldmann. The spaetzle and sausages were all very good!

Really cool German focused brewery with a beautiful outdoor beer garden. The main building itself is an old historic building in St Paul. Service was good when we visited. Most of the beers seemed well made and were enjoyable for the styles.

A must visit!! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked incredible and what we ordered was outrageously delicious. LOVE the ambiance - feels like you're in a quaint home with lovely music playing in the background. Service was PERFECT! Friendly, attentive and efficient. A fantastic evening out.

Very cool building and fun beer garden. Good German, Bavarian style beers. Good service. Unfortunately, the prices for the food are outrageous. Example: $14 for a brat, $18 for a pretzel. The taste of the brat was pretty good but not the best that I have ever had and it had such a tough skin that made it difficult to bite into. The pretzel was good (hot when served) but not the best I have ever had either. By the time we had one brat to split, one pretzel to split, and two beers each, the total tab including tip came to $81. We thought that was ridiculous.

The service was on point and very friendly, The bratwurst we order were tasty. Charcuterie board was delightful to the eyes and mouth, The bread was warm and crispy. They brew their own 🍺 🍻 If you like hasty beer or good IPA I do recommend You must visit this brewery. be aware it's hard to find parking space Close to the restaurant.

We really enjoyed having dinner at the Waldmann with all of it's historical charm adding to the experience. We sat upstairs and tried several beers and the pretzel with house-made mustards first, which were all delicious. For dinner we had the schnitzel, the wurst platter and the Kasespatzle. It was all good, but the food didn't arrive very warm and we would have preferred pork instead of chicken schnitzel. Overall, a very fun brewery and a great place to have some good German food!

The atmosphere, food, and service were fantastic! My husband, born and raised in Europe, was very impressed with the authenticity of the food. Be prepared to spend a little extra for this experience -- it is worth it!

What an awesome place! If you are looking for a low-key place to have great beer, this is it. Make sure to head up-stairs to see the giant Buffalo head. If they still have the limited stock authentic German Steins, I would highly recommend to buy one. Not only are you going to get great beer here you are walking distance to another brewing called Bad Weather.

Cute location. I want to try again because we didn't get a comfortable seat and it was dark in the corner patio barrel tables. The service was great and fast. Maybe we'll be luckier with seating next time because I definitely want to relax and enjoy their patio someday.

Food and beer was great! Jesus was our waiter and he did a fantastic job on making sure what we needed. The building was built in the 1850s and a wood stove was on in the room we were dining in. The whole place really takes you back in time!

My 6 year old says it’s 5 starts, definitely. We enjoy the casual cozy atmosphere and the great food. This time we trued a burger, meatballs and wildrice soup without disappointment! Our usual wursts will wait till another time.

A fantastic brewery right off of the river in St. Paul! The house has so much history being a previous saloon in the upstairs being a previous living quarters for the workers. Now it is all a brewery and a really cute aesthetic. The food is also amazing! Parking can be a little bit challenging because it is a smaller area, but definitely worth it. Friendly staff, great drinks, great food, and great atmosphere make this place a top 10 in St. Paul. Go check them out!
