My mother in law has been telling me about this place for awhile and we finally got to go together. Here’s the best part: their syrup is amazing! I got 1 pancake just so I could try it and we basically ended up emptying the whole bottle. I think it’s mixed with butter, it was so delicious. I also ordered huevos rancheros and they were amazing. One thing I was impressed by is that it was served with real authentic salsa, and no I don’t mean the chunky tomato salsa you see in stores. I mean real authentic Mexican red salsa that my mom makes and it was so good!! They get 5 stars just for that. My Arnold Palmer was great too. My mother in laws dish looked fantastic too. I also have to say that our waiter was fabulous. She was so sweet and we ended up being the last customers and no one rushed us at all. The worst part? Nothing. Can’t add anything. Also, extra bonus is that they’re right next door to the nicest decor/gift shop!

Excellent breakfast with large portions. More than enough food. The service was great, too. There was a wait, which was worth it. We had two different kinds of stuffed French Toast. Had different kinds of potatoes. American potatoes and chessy hash browns. Highly recommend.

Always worth the wait! If you know you’ll be going here then make sure you call ahead to be put on the list!! My favorite is the French toast combo with ham and cheesy hash browns! The portion is huge so I always share!

Was in the area and just happened to fall upon this place. It was super busy, so I was hoping it was good! We were pleasantly surprised! Had a great breakfast, and walked around the cute gift shop next door while waiting for a table.

Cheery greetings from the hostess, quick service at the table with regular check ins, lovely presentation on food that was absolutely delicious. Thank you Jensen's for keeping service up through these trying times.

Such a lovely place. Quaint and homey feeling. Perfect place for family or to meet a friend. The spinach and goat cheese omelet is fantastic. And my friend was kind enough to share a piece of her apple bread which was amazing. The kids loved their pancakes.

Fun little breakfast place. When we got there we did have to wait 45 minutes but it's worth the wait. The banana pancake is one of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the eggs Benedict which comes on a little pancake which is sweet and different but good. We also got an order of biscuits and gravy which was good too. Yummy food!

Service was great - I did not care for my biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were heavy and sweet. All of our food was barely warm.

My wife and I love this place. We have never had a bad meal or experience here. Went on fathers day, didnt get the waiters name, but he was great. Wish I could name him to give him the credit he deserves.

Great breakfast food place. Lots of choices, all good. One of the few places in the Twin Cities to get the Monte Cristo. Yum!

My husband and I have gotten curbside pickup a couple of times since the shutdown. Everything we have gotten has been delicious from breakfast to sandwiches. The staff is friendly. We will definitely continue to get food from here.

Giving it a 5 just for the bacon. The steak was decent, and cooked perfectly. A perfectly cooked medium rare steak is really unusual at a breakfast joint, says I. Thick Cut bacon and eggs was really good, but the potato things weren't my favorite. My date had the country fried steak. I tried it and it's one of the best I've ever had. Their tri berry jam is really good. Tip: the dinner menu has a limited breakfast selection, but they will bring you the full breakfast menu upon request. Get some.

I've never had bad service, bad drinks, or anything less than amazing food here. The patio is a huge plus too!

  • 4/5 Nathan A. 4 years ago on Google
The restaurant was really nice. The food was good. I didn't particularly care for my food, but that was more my fault for ordering something I didn't like. The berry jam was ridiculously good though. My friend got the buffalo chicken strips for an appetizer and and those were super good. If you're in the area, stop into this place, it's worth a visit. I will definitely be back. I will just get something that suits me better.

Actually, felt like walking out at first. Extremely grumpy man was at the front seating guests. But glad we stayed because... PANCAKES! Homemade maple syrup. Amazing! We also ordered county fried steak and eggs, which very good as well. Eggs were a little under cooked, I ordered over medium. Its always s 50/50 to get eggs served over medium. Service was good, surprised at how pleasant our server was after experiencing the grump at the door. Glad his attitude wasn't contagious.

  • 5/5 Allison J. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing! Expect a slight wait if going for breakfast or brunch, but it's totally worth it. Highly recommend the strawberry and cream pancakes and the regular mimosa (much tastier than the ultimate - they put ice in the ultimate one which makes it taste less like a traditional mimosa...plus it's served in a heavy mug. I prefer the champagne flutes, but you do you when you order!) The breakfast cereals (oatmeal) are only served until 11, so plan accordingly if that's what you plan on getting! Love the atmosphere, speedy service, and all the options. Jensen's never disappoints. If you're in the area looking for solid brunch food, look no further than Jensen's!!!

Lobe Jenson's for breakfast! I was with a friend who had never been. We both enjoyed the Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce, eggs, hers over easy, mine poached, and bacon. The bacon was thick cut, cooked perfectly,, and wonderfully delicious!

Great food! Really delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Pancakes are always so fresh, fluffy and HUGE. Jensen's has some of the best food servers and service in Burnsville. Only thing that can be a drag is the waiting time. It can be more than 35 min on a busy day but it is definitely worth the wait.

This place always has such delicious breakfast. I love to get the stuffed French toast. My boyfriend got the blue cheese hamburger and he was quite pleased with his pick. I'd recommend this place most definitely. They are usually very busy so reservations are advised!

I was expecting so much more for the price and how busy they are. Ordered Biscuits and gravy with eggs and such disappointment. My biscuits and gravy was cold! Had everyone at the table try them and everyone was shocked at how they weren't even warm. Then my scrambled eggs also cold, dry and crunchy like they were sitting out. The only good thing was my upgraded cheese hashbrowns. You'd think the food at minimum would be hot and fresh. Not worth it. Wouldn't recommend.

Awesome neighborhood cafe in Burnsville's Heart of the City. The cajun breakfast is exceptional, and you can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches, either. I'm sure the rest of the menu is great too but that's what I've tried so far 😀

I am so disappointed in our experience today. We have eaten at this lovely cafe for years so it’s even more disappointing. We ordered two breakfasts for take out. It was more spendy than usual $42 without coffee but their food is generally so good we went with it. Got the food home it was the wrong order. Due to the high price and wrong food we cancelled the entire order. Dealt with the manager and he grabbed the bag of food , went into the till and shoved $40 in cash and walked away. I’m shocked. I know this cafe is privately owned This employee must need some help! I know probably a tough morning but ..... not the customer service when it was their mistake.

Be warned, the caramel cinnamon roll is immense! I thought to myself, "I don't want to overdo it, maybe I'll share it with my wife." Well, it came to the table and I knew I was doomed. 😉 We ended sharing it between 4 of us and we all felt nearly full before our main courses arrived (they were also delicious).

  • 5/5 laura m. 3 years ago on Google
I wish we had a Jensen's in Wisconsin! The 4 of us were amazed, everything was a delight to your tastebuds! The Caramel Cinnamon Roll is a must try! But it is big and even split 4 ways had us feeling full too soon! Bought some of their homemade syrup to take home, it is to die for! If we ever come this way again we will dine here again!!!

  • 5/5 Ashley C. 3 years ago on Google
Best breakfast place in town! I'd reviewed before and said there weren't any vegetarian options for entrees, but that wasn't fair because they have all day breakfast and multiple options for vegetarians for breakfast. Also, have to hat tip to Jensen's because they do takeout really well - the food is always just as good as it would be in the restaurant.

We attended my son and daughter-in-law wedding dinner here. The service was very good as was the food. I know a little about service as I have worked many jobs in that industry. The reason I am writing this post is to thank Jensen's Cafe for the great time we all had there.

They were incredibly rude when we asked to be seated after waiting for 30 + minutes! Everyone who was waiting with us and after us got seated before us! That’s beyond RUDE!!! The manger was just standing and said NOTHING!! How are you a manger and not speaking up! I wasted my time and got not food!! I’m disappointed at Jen’s and the disrespect I got! I’ve been coming to this place for years!

  • 1/5 Hindsight Is 2. 3 years ago on Google
It makes me really uncomfortable that the waiting area isn’t Covid safe. As cases continue to climb, they should be asking people to wait in their cars, then calling them and not have people packed in the front door. I couldn’t even come to the reception area without bumping into someone.

  • 1/5 Anfa A. 3 years ago on Google
I’ve been waiting for 35 minutes. They wasted our time and we’re incredibly rude when we asked to be seated. Don’t take my number if you’re not gonna call me. It’s Covid so I waited in my car instead of their packed waiting area. The receptionist was combative and gave tables to people who came later, rather than simply calling me. It’s felt prejudicial.

This used to be one of our favorite small business restaurants pre covid. They serve a breakfast all day that is great. Love the home made syrup. Post covid it's just been a little off and not quite the same. But still good.

  • 5/5 Stephen E. 2 years ago on Google
Loved the eggs Benedict with cheesy hash browns! I didn't know it was with pancake bottom instead of an English muffin but I liked it a lot the sweetness contrasted the hollandaise sauce and maple Canadian bacon. Everything was perfect and it was our first visit. Our waitress Grace was great too! Definitely will be back.

Decent food, ambience and good service. Paid around $50 for 2 breakfast with beverages. Too crowded and long wait on weekends morning which is expected🤣

  • 4/5 Raynal B. 2 years ago on Google
It’s all about the caramel syrup. Literally the best syrup I’ve ever had. You have to try it at least once. Will come back to buy a few jars the next time I’m there. The food is good. But again… the caramel syrup is the whole reason I come here. 🤤🤤. Otherwise the food is standard diner stuff and I would say mostly over priced.

  • 5/5 Ben D. 2 years ago on Google
This place is top notch, Carmel roll is to die for, figuratively. Get there early if you want one, they sell out fast!! Week days are the best time to go, weekends can be a bit of a wait. But don't worry, it's totally worth the wait.

Decent American cafe faire. The Ultimate Bloody is not messing around… as garnishments it came with a whole egg and full sized beef jerky stick. There was some confusion over omelet vs Oma-lotta naming on the outside menu vs the sun provided but everything was tasty.

  • 5/5 Vanessa S. 11 months ago on Google
This place is always packed for a reason! If you are bringing a large party, call ahead. Otherwise they will seat you in the bar area. It's still lovely, and for most guests it will be nice because it's a bit more private. However if you have individuals with mobility issues, take that into account. The food is great tasting and very comforting. Service wise, we've never had a bad experience, it's only been excellent! Definitely the ideal go to for a wonderful brunch experience!

  • 3/5 Betsy W. 1 year ago on Google
Long wait time. We were greatest by a wonderful server and he suggested the lemon ricotta pancakes. They sounded good, but I think they sat a while. Rubbery. The sever was very very accommodating and took it off the bill. I would give it another chance to see if I was an off day.

  • 5/5 Scott S. 11 months ago on Google

  • 1/5 Denny G. 11 months ago on Google
Last time I was here. That Cajun breakfast was great; it’s the first time I got this meal and it was not great at all. It wasn’t even busy and yes the kitchen can be busy but pretty bad food, I only ate it because I was hungry and I was waiting for it as my kid and wife ate. My server was great and the screw driver was great also but the meal was just bad.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots! The wait is long but it’s worth the wait if you have time. The eggs Benedict over pancake and cheesy hash brown is soooo good!! When you get to the table, everything is set and ready to go and everything comes quick. It’s a good quick breakfast spot.

  • 5/5 Rory T. 7 months ago on Google
This place was great. Their pancakes are awesome. They actually cook the fruit into the pancake and it's thick and fluffy. Going to take a second and say that the "maple" syrup is to die for. It's Maple syrup, butter, brown sugar, and cream I believe. It's so good, my wife and I actually ate our leftovers. Drinks are dirt cheap. Be mindful that the grapefruit juice is a juice cocktail and does have sugar. If you're thinking of doing the sausage gravy and biscuits, try something else. They are ok, but light on the sausage and there are other other more excellent things on the menu. Also, opt for the cheesy hash browns. You'll be glad you did.

  • 5/5 Sean N. 8 months ago on Google
Just what I'm looking for when I want a brunch location! Great selection, wonderful service, amazing food (get the cheesy hashed browns!), all for a fair price. My only (very small) gripe is that the kitchen was a tad slow. The product made up for it however. Next time (and there WILL be a next time!) I'll simply allocate a little more time.

LOVE their triple berry stuffed French toast combo platter. The coffee is solid and their homemade maple caramel syrup is awesome! BTW- the caramel roll is the size of a loaf of bread! So yummy- we took it home of course!
